Review: Scottish artist Jason Taylor aka Aether has long been turning out compelling albums of ambient rhythms that range from evocative and tender to more dark and foreboding. After outings on labels like Take of Us's Afterlife, Feat Plates and Crosstown Rebels, he is now back on his own self-titled imprint. Again he masterfully balances the light with the dark for an album that pairs tiny melodic details with grand, sweeping pads and all consuming bass. The record includes an art inlay of the cover art by Robbie Trevino and is another fine entry into his bulging discography.
