Review: Must-have one-sided white 12" here, with SBTRKT remixing Modeselektor's recent single "Art & Cash". The Berlin duo's influential role as a matchmaker in the now blossoming love affair between dubstep and techno is well documented, and SBTRKT shows his appreciation with a killer remix that boasts a techno/garage/2-step beat that is rinsing dancefloors from Brixton to Berlin at the moment. Would work nicely as an epic end-of-night closer.

Review: After a long, well-publicised farewell, Modeselektor's 50 Weapons label finally bits the dust, bowing out with a release from the owners. For the fiftieth and final record, the German pair have recruited long-time Rhythm & Sound vocalist Paul St Hilaire. He brings his baleful, shanty style delivery to the intense, rolling title track, and if anything tempers the intensity of the massive, shimmering chord builds that unfold as "Trees" progresses. On the other side, there's "50 Trees". On this occasion, Modeselektor decide to drop out the beats and the listener is left to contend with dark, textured sound scapes, a chilling but evocative goodbye to one of techno's key imprints.

Review: Modeselektor join forces with the Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team of Teki Latex and Orgasmic for the Negative EP, featuring the self-loathing vocal: 'I'm like a black hole of negative farts'. It harks back to the Modeselektor of Hello Mom and Happy Birthday, replete with darkly, yet comical vocals and cut and stutter loops. Modeselektor employ 50 Weapons haircut Bambounou for the EP's remix, stripping the original back to a rhythmic and dubby drum track, using the quirky vocal as the remix's crescendo.
