  6. Ten Fold Rule (4:00)
Review: If you like your electro to be scraped off the sewer pipes and flambeed for extra effect, then ZEMENT have you covered with this mucky gem from Alonzo. "Time Tales" has the kind of grinding synth tones and dystopian vocoder action that would be right at home in a Helena Hauff DJ set, while "My Vibe" switches things up with a saucy vocal take from WMN that comes on like Peaches jamming with Dopplereffekt. "Shades Of Tuch" takes things in a spooky direction, while "The Dead Cry" keeps things sparse and chilling. "Patch Dance" turns the distortion up to 11, and "Ten Fold Rule" rounds things off with another wonderfully murky lead line for the end of days.

Review: When Piska Power isn't studying to become a doctor, he is making modular synth sounds to melt your mind. This six track mini LP is a comprehensive overview of his work: pulsing drum rhythms, clicks, shapeshifting arps that are bubbling, blistering backed with dehumanised vocals that are skewed and stretched. This is an avant-garde take on experimental noise and industrial that dips into techno, EBM and coldwave from a perspective that draws you into this unique world and keeps you there. A superbly strong collection.

Review: The reissue material from the archives of Bourbonese Qualk keep on coming, with this second salvo from the sturdy partnership of Mannequin and Platform 23. The visionary London industrial agitators were on vital form on "Hope", which came out midway through 1984, and now Rude 66 has remastered the music for fresh ears. The mood is persistently murky, but it moves from danceable anti-funk to gutter-dwelling noise baths and atmospheric sonic totems. At once mystical and incisive, otherworldly and grittily real, this is another brilliant reframing of one of the UK's true industrial titans.

  11. Corybantic Ennui (1:43)
  12. Her Friends The Wolves (9:56)
  13. Light Shining Darkly (2:59)
Review: In 1992, Coil followed up their critically acclaimed '91 album "Love's Secret Domain" with a set of outtakes, unreleased songs and alternate versions recorded during the same sessions. Of course, little they produced in that period was ever less than inspired, and "Stolen and Contaminated Songs" was a far better set than its "odds and ends" nature suggested it would be - as this timely reissue proves. Flitting between string-drenched neo-classical, exotic Indian soundscapes, otherworldly ambient-jazz, Cabaret Voltaire style industrial-electro, contemporaneous ambient house dreaminess, beat-free soundscapes and weird electronic experiments, it's a kaleidoscopic and hugely entertaining affair that's well worth a place in your collection.

Review: For his last outing on Hospital Productions, Nine Inch Nails collaborator Alessandro Cortini utilized just two pieces of equipment: a Roland MC-202 and a delay pedal. For this follow-up, he's expanded his toolbox a little, supplementing those hardware pieces with two further machines: a Roland TR-606 and TB-303. Musically, Risveglio inhabits a similar space to its predecessor, with Cortini creating blurry, fluid dreamscapes built around semi-rhythmic loops, distorted chords and fuzzy ambient textures. Listeners may struggle to spot the TB-303 - most often used to create ragged waves of intense electronics - such is the unique way in which Cortini manipulates it. Regardless, the Italian's post-industrial, half-awake soundscapes are thoroughly mesmerizing.

Review: He may not have been on this planet since the late 1990s, but the late, great Bryn Jones continues to dazzle from beyond the grave. The latest in a long line of posthumous albums offers another chance to own one of his greatest moments, 23-minute 1996 cut "Arab Jerusalem": a superb sound soup rich in atmospheric field recordings, snatched Arabic radio chatter, hazy ambient electronics, sporadic bursts of hand percussion and unearthly female vocal snippets. Perhaps more alluring for dedicated fans are the three previously unreleased tracks that Staalplaat has plucked from the Manchester producer's vast archives. The standout is undoubtedly "Jordan River", a twenty-minute chunk of sparse, mind-altering electro-dub/ambient dub fusion from the DJ Spooky school of "illbient" that's simply essential.

Review: Sicilian artist Nino Pedone is back for a first full length in four years. It's his debut on this Scottish label and draws on noise, industrial, metal and hardcore but in stripped back and reductive ways. Rather than a barrage of sound, his gritty soundscapes are suggestive and skeletal, allowing you to fill in the weather freaky gaps left behind. The texture of it is always frayed, scratched, scuffed up, and there's always a sense of distant doom in the billowing bass or lurching drums. Serious stuff designed to be played loud, and makes for a brilliant hybrid sound.

Review: Given Hospital Productions boss Dominick Fernow's deep knowledge of the noise scene past and present, it's not that surprising to see his label reissuing this obscure - but sought after - 1995 album by Yorkshire freeform noiseniks Smell & Quim. This is the first time it has ever appeared on wax, with Fernow choosing to stretch the hour or so of material over two slabs of wax to ensure better quality sound. What you get is deliciously dystopian: a range of intense, mind-altering audio collages that layer up mind-bending guitars, feedback, squally electric noise, field recordings and sound effects.

Review: When Throbbing Gristle performed live at Camber Sands in December 2004, it was an emotional occasion. All four members had reunited for only the second time since 1981 in order to pay tribute to their dear friend and fellow industrial pioneer John Balance. The resulting performance was electric, with the legendary four-piece putting on a dazzling show of doom-laden industrial magic that is still talked about in hushed tones to this day. This double-vinyl set, which was previously only available as a limited CD-R release in the days following the performance, presents the 90-minute show in full. It's arguably one of the band's strongest live recordings and feels particularly potent given the circumstances leading up to it.

  14. How Do You Deal (14:00)
Review: When it was first released in 2007, "Part 2: The Endless Not / TG Now" was Throbbing Gristle's first studio album since 1982. The pioneering industrial band had been drawn together again in 2004 to mark the passing of friend John Balance with a rare performance, and spent the next two years sporadically recording new material. The set was produced slightly differently to the all-analogue early works, with greater use of sampling and digital instrumentation. Yet despite the new toys and techniques, the music remained as antagonistic, forthright, intense and otherworldly as it had been two decades before. In other words, it's a proper Throbbing Gristle album, made by the original members to their original ethos, with a slightly different production approach. For that reason it remains a must-have for all fans of industrial music past and present.

  8. Final Victory: Christ Became A Man & Had Truly Assumed Human Nature (4:54)
Review: Hot on the heels of "Church Of All Hallows Eve", Dominick Fernow returns to his Vatican Shadow alias for another stern rumination on geo-politics and Western interference to a soundtrack of dark ambient and industrial intensity. Fans of the project will find much to latch onto on "Kneel Before Religious Icons", as the continuous wrestle between harmonious melodies and noise takes place over hissing percussion concerned with texture and tension far more than dancefloor impact. This is message-heavy music that bows to no one, just how we like Fernow's flagship project.
