This latest EP is the first installment in the new All Hands series and it features some real house heavyweights. Frits Wentink kicks off with the mystic and lo-fi depths of 'Jellyfish, then DJ Aakmael layers up his soft edge chords and cuddly kicks drums with some muted horn motifs that bring the romance. The label head brings some upright drums and spoken word lyrics for a beautifully warm sound and last of all Detroit royalty Rick Wilhite links with Jon Easley for a final blissed-out and breezy deep house day dream.

Vinny Terranova sets the tone with 'Let's Go People', a barnstorming funky house slammer that boasts samples aplenty from an Arrested Development classic, before Disko Junkie pitches up a Grover Washington Jr classic and turns it into a bumpin' disco-house number. Elsewhere, Discotron's 'De La Disco' is a nu-disco edit-not-edit of a 'daisy age' hip-hop classic, HP Vince's 'Oh My Love' is a disco-house take on Luther Vandross, and Fraser's 'Chicago 93' is a thickset disco-house slammer that uses the same disco samples as a famous funky house classic of the early 2000s.

Velvet Velour opens up with squelchy, funky bass on 'Show You The Door' before Liquid Earth melts the mind with impossibly bendy synths and stiff drums on 'Gummo Hardrive.' Flip this 12" over and you'll find some cosmic tech in the form of The Honda Boys's 'Funghi Pie' and gurgling, gritty, metallic deep space house from Dreaming Mind who offers up 'Mid-Bozz.' Review: Daniela La Luz is no stranger to Rawax's stable of labels - she's previously released on most of them at different points over the last decade- though Global Transformation marks the first time she's appeared on any of them as Vanilla. The Berlin-based artist sets her stall out with the raw, punchy and occasionally sparkling title track - all woozy keyboard riffs, weighty electro-meets-house beats, tipsy chords and heavy bass - before opting for a deep, druggy, acid-fired and percussively propulsive vibe on 'The Last Window of Time'. Review: Cough & Laugh is a rather unusual name for a label and it deals in rather unusual minimal sounds. Following a couple of head-turning first EPs it now offers up this fine various artists release with a trip of tunes from a trip of new talents. Uniix's 'Mindegy' opens up with a glitchy mix of dry hits and sinewy sine waves all peppered with a freaky mix of vocal fragments. Shato's 'Nephilim' then takes a darker turn with ghoulish sounds and synth mutations over an icy beat. Dubfound takes over the flip side with 'Sonya Baskerville', a supple minimal rhythm with well-worked samples smeared into the kinetic mix.

Twolate opens up with 'Baila' which has tribal drums and percusison that stomp with real heaviness under wild vocals. CASSIMM & Gene Farris combine then for the maximal monster that is 'Party People' with all its sweeping synth filters and James Haskell's' 'Check It Out' is a funky groove that ducks and dives under stuff chords. Last of all is Danny Rhys with the hooky andoopy joys of 'Sibali.'

Review: Fresh Sounds #000 is a new and unique series, limited and numbered to 150 examples thanks to the efforts of its parent company Ribo Cochlee. For the very first edition of the series, a mockley crew of newcomers come to the fore, be they DJ Moar, Disco Flegrei or Holdtight. Centring on woozy jazzdance and disco with an airily produced bent, the highlights on this one have to be Flegrei's 'Titamesque', which basks in a kind of sexy sophistry procured by the heady combination of live drums and a (we think) muted bass clarinet, and Yured Jones' 'Far Away', which breaks from the genre prescription for a more cinematic breakdown.

'Get Up' features KG's expressive Jamaican style vocals with lots of B.Valentine ad libs which are designed to get those asses shaking and hands in the air. It's a perfect party time cut that comes in the form of FRZVL's Massive main mix and then a more clipped and funky dubstyle version. Review: Warm Sounds hits release number 15 with more of its signature house grooves and they come from a pairing who have often worked together before to great effect. That is John Swing feat David Soleil Mon and they offer up a trio of delightfully left-of-centre deep house and minimal cuts starting with 'Find Your Way' which deservedly takes up the whole of the a-side and is a sublime excursion. 'Gaia Planet' is a dusty, lo-fi and mysterious beatdown with chords full of suspense and 'From Within' closes down with more paddy kick drums and wispy synth details.

Review: GLBDOM sub-label GLBDOM Classic is dedicated to nostalgic house sounds inspired by the great styles of Chicago, Detroit and New York vibes, with hints of Italo-Dream house and even the Balearics. We get all that here on this new split EP from French house producer Sunny Galaxy and Englishman Dan T. Sunny opens up with some happy, piano-laced party starters, well-swung garage-house grooves and steamy basement jams, then Dan T offers a B-side trio headed up by the gloriously vocal laced 'Wrong Time.' 'My Desire' cuts up the groove with some nice raw percussion and 'Want To Love You' is a sultry and jazz-tinged number for lovers.

Review: St Petersberg's Dobro label is noted not just for the quality and playability of its funky house and disco re-edits, but also for its value for money. This, their seventh release, is another great example, with no less than six floorfillers included on one 12", each bringing their own individual mood to the table. 'Flowers Festival' from Sun Rhythms has throbbing organs and fruity keys, topped off by a gorgeous Russian vocal. DJ Merci's 'Timetable' goes for chunky rave pianos and Fairlight stabs, lending it an 80s Italo-disco feel, before Ground Plane Aerial's 'Transition SP' closes the side with slap bass and stripped down house vibe that echoes some of Roule Records' more accessible moments. Side two VIGI's 'I Am You', is the most memorable of the whole package, with its idiosyncratic female vocal weaving a magical spell around the listener, before we finish off with a double whammy of Monny Me's swirling stringfest 'The Name Of The Game' and the parping horns and strutting groove of Ugly Frankie's 'Free Alcohol Shit', the latter including a bewitching and unexpected piano solo. Great work all round.

Review: Defected gather together some big hitters for this VA release which will appeal to all those who like their house music pitched for the biggest rooms possible. John Summit takes us to the top with 'La Danza' and Dennis Ferrer & Disciples get some epic remix treatment courtesy of Summit once again. Ferreck Dawn and Izzy Bizu face off on the B side with 'Life', which brings some powerful pop hooks into the mix atop a catchy as hell house beat. That leaves it to Dawn to tackle Jem Cooke for a version of 'Back Tomorrow' that's just as anthemic, giving you everything you need to move a massive crowd.

The Lorenzo Vektor is a wild footwork remix with drums piled up on top of one another and the vocal chopped and diced into pieces. On the flip is a star-gazing synth house exploration of outer space and then a killer electro-funk jam. One of the most unpredictable EPs we've heard in ages.

Review: Following the Bowery EP from DubTape, Skip Audio returns to its various artists format with a tidy four-tracker taking an extended journey into the realms of psychedelic house music. Sublee leads the way with the smoky, subliminal sound of 'Shuffle Kings' before DubTape offers up a subtly crooked beat to carry the whispers of pad and errant machine bleeps of 'Ziggurat'. Cosmjn keeps things steady and seductive with the late night tones of 'Grun', and Andy Catana's 'Everybody Dance' toys with broken beats and acid tweaking to get limbs all juicy when you up to your neck in heady party people wanting to get deeper on the dancefloor.

Review: Night Vibez first outing on vinyl is a limited affair, with only 200 copies available worldwide. It sees Steb join forces with Dario Rossi for 'Karius 1979', a shimmering, impactful late-night number that giddily blurs the boundaries between sci-fi deep house, trippy nu-disco, and strobe-lit Italo-disco of the sort more associated with basements in The Hague than open-air clubs in Italy. Van Der Kirche and THC kick-start the accompanying remix package with a bouncy, stab-happy breakbeat take that sounds like it could have been recorded in 1990 or 91, before big guns Marvin & Guy re-frame it as a throbbing Chic-meets-Italo-disco workout. To round things off, the Feel Fly 'Piano Emozione' mix is a dreamy, piano-laden trance number that recalls the mid-90s excellence of Robert Miles.

Review: Dele Sosimi is a key part of the contemporary Afro house scene having formerly been a keyboardist for the one and only Fela Kuti. For this new EP he works with DJ Stan-ley on a fresh new combination of their sounds that is steeped in Afro house joy. 'Atide' has already proven a big hit at the Excursions parties and it comes in serval different forms here. First up is the Deep Y-all DJ Stan-ley Deep London Afrodub mix full of warming pads and loose limbed drums. The DJ Stan-ley Deep London Raw original mix is indeed more raw then Melchyor A's Hmida version is a true Afro delight with sprinklings of organic percussion and the DJ Garphie Thinkhouse remix closes out with plenty of bounce.

Review: Two years on from their debut release, Venezuelan label ELI.SOUND return with another VA release which should help shine a light on the sound they want to push on their platform. It's a fiery strain of tech house which embraces some dramatic peaks and troughs, as on the vocal-led, acid-speckled thumper 'WAXX03' from Son Of Elita. Things are equally bouncy on 'WAXX04' by Trentz & Cajal, while Direkt ironically takes a less obvious path thanks to the snaking minimalisms of his particular beat construction on 'TRAXX03'. SOEm finishes the record off with a charged piece of statement sampling and squashed, off-kilter machine funk which might well be the best cut on a standout record.

Review: Following excellent appearances from the likes of Roger Gerressen, Thor and Alessandro Crimi, the OHM Series continues to explore mellow threads of techno from emergent talents and established craftfolk in the outer reaches. This new release kicks off with Soela offering up a slender, seductive trip through dubby moodscapes before Dawn Razor digs into a hooked groove coursing underneath big swathes of icy ambience. Stelios Vassiloudis creates a heavy stomp around 'Live In Fear' without losing the delicacy which has defined the OHM Series to date. Semitone Cycles completes the set with 'Elusive', an elegant tripper with one eye on the wooziest end of the after hours.

Instead, you'll be treated to some real proper beatdown vibes by some right legends of the Detroit underground, curated by scene stalwart Norm Talley. The ever impressive Delano Smith gets the Mixmode vibe in effect on the hypnotic back room dubs of 'The Lost Synth' parts 1 & 2 respectively which cover the A side. Over on the flip, Sistrum Recordings main man Patrice Scott gets some emotive Motor City soul going on in his inimitable style on 'Better Days' followed by the heads-down basement beats of Deepset's 'Soltek'.

Review: Aaron Andrew's Chubby label doesn't rush things. Since launching in 2018 and now only just hitting its sixth release though the music sure is worth the wait and is proof that quality will always win over quantity. Leonid's twin brother, Al Smith opens up with the cuddly and cosmic depths of 'Drama Room' before getting more dark and unsettling with his twisted synth modulations on 'Full Of Music', which then becomes a gorgeous downtempo cut with star-gazing pads and splashy hits within the Specter remix. Dan Piu picks up the pace for some delightfully warm deep house dynamics on 'Days Gone' and 'Snows Of Solaris'. Last of all is the more scuffed up, heads down deep house murk of Rai Scott's remix of Dan's intro tune, 'Day's Gone'.

Review: Skatebard's Digitalo Enterprises has been keeping it real since the mid 00s, never failing to come through with what we like to call 'the truth'. Whether it's disco, house or even techno on the menu, the quirky Norwegian producer-DJ has got a touch of class across everything he does, and inviting fellow Norwegian DJ Sotofett to the catalogue is pure evidence of that. The head honcho is up first, rolling across the wax plate with 2 cuts: the first, "Stalheim-Mix" is a pacey, bass-heavy techno roller with a supremely progressive tone of voice, whereas "Tristulf" is made for pure meditation thanks to its slow, warm flow of Balearics. On the flip, DJ SO-PHAT adds to the ambient glow thanks to the placid waters of "Digitalo-Mix", a sparkling slice of synth experimentation that'll have the new age retroists gleaming with joy. Bloody lovely, we might say!

Review: The latest drop on House Puff finds label boss DJ Steaw teaming up with another kindred spirit for the second in a series of split EPs. Parisian deep house don Steaw has a well-established sound dealing in the kind of headsy, 90s-inspired gear which will never tire, and he's true to that vibe with the bumping garage mood of 'Jazzy Thang' and the smouldering throw down of his 'Brooklyn By Night' mix of 'Le Petit Monsieur'. The A side however is given over to Simon Shaw, who offers up a slick, techy strain of grooves ranging from the chunky warm-up fare of 'Pipes' to the crisp, shuffled daydreamer 'For The Love' - one which slots in perfectly with Paris' undying love affair with minimal tech house.

This EP from Bristol's Boogie Cafe Records tries to put the record straight by bringing together a quartet of cuts from some of the city's fast-rising producers. Check first the insanely funky, broken house brilliance of Sam Ruffilo's blues-sampling "U Make Me Sing", before bathing in the jazzy solos, drowsy male vocals and jazz-funk-flecked cheekiness of D'Arabia's "Straight Outta Fire". Review: It is now more than two years since Planet Tapes launched out of Italy and this is only the label's third release, but the wait is more than worth it. IT is Italian Domenico Rosa who kicks off with a brilliantly lush and melodic house workout that has as much old school influence as it does future soul. Deyayu's 'Asthatwhatis' sinks into a deeper, more late night vibe with strident drums and rolling bass but nice crisp claps and heady ambient synths. There is an irresistible playfulness to Two Opposites's 'Tropical Aurora' that really swells the heart while Eros closes down with 'Phased Energy' which is all glassy and celestial melodies over light breakbeats.

Review: Defected's numeral EP series is up to a 13th edition but this one is in no way unlucky for anyone. It collects together some of the biggest and most widely heard tunes of 2022 across two sides of wax. First up is the summer banger 'Rise Up' from Harry Romero & Inaya Day which dropped in June and was never far from a big moment. The Deep In Jersey remix of 'Rise Up' is more deep and dubby and then on the reverse Spanish artist David Penn offers 'Push The Feeling' with vocals from Leon Stanford.
