Review: The story so far. Think back a second, if you remember rightly, rising talent Hereldeuke burst on to a new scene of his own last year with his debut EP introducing Widescreen and Quest to critical acclaim. You could've heard Quest on Radio 1's newsbeat when all things dark are being discussed. Title track "Widescreen" (also a prime time radio hit) mixed the talents of the mighty Kool Keith with our very own Hereldeduke (aka Ol Brown), "Wow, the dub is outrageous; the students are forcing me to play this all the time at the mo!" - Fink (Ninja Tune, Simple, Solid Steel, etc). Say no more! So It's a new chapter in the book of time for Brown. And look who else is back by dope demand!!! Track 1 - "Greco" features Kool Keith, Jacky Jasper and Marc Live. The lead track and the second collaboration between these two and its a marriage made in heaven and its another humdinger. Listen to this and you realise what a musical devotee and lofty young producer we have in Hereldeduke, really thrashing down the boundaries of conformity. Dub thumping beats and bass, let the doctor himself take you from rhyme to verse to a wicked chorus and check out the breakdown! "Montepeleuna" is a spaghetti western, Tarantino-esque melodrama man!!!! and instrumental version of Greco. Given the same nasty, hip hop treatment as its close relative, replace sir Kool with ethnic chanting you've got Montepeleuna. "Dum Dum" - An innovative change of tack, bridging the gap somewhere between hip hop and dance, Ol drops a nice big beat and takes it onto the dance floor and beyond, (and may the force be with you!)!

Review: MC Homeless and Kool Keith bring totters the old and the new on this fresh collaboration. Homeless is known as a DIY touring god and of course, Kool Keith is a godfather of the weirder end of rap with a fine CV. Their work gets pressed up to eco-coloured vinyl which is made from recycled chips so results in some suitably weird wax patterns. In original form, 'Monsters' has booming low ends and menacing bass with purposeful bars and freaky synth lines that hark back to early dubstep. Ceschi and Id Obelus then feature on a remix by Noblonski that gets even more freaky. Instrumentals of each are on the flip.

The original of 'London Is The Place' is a dark and menacing cut with muffled but dynamic beats and mystic distant sax lines as well as plenty of sci-fi effects and metropolitan glow. The B-side features a version with Kaidi Tatham and also a Kool Jazz mix. What a potent EP this is.

Review: Although "Dr. Octagon" wasn't released until 1996, Kut Masta Kurt was busy producing music with Kool Keith as far back as 1993. A few of the tracks on "Sex Style Unreleased Ltd Edition" have been floating around on fuzzy dubbed cassette tapes over the years and even a few have wound up on bootlegs, but now we officially get a chance to hear these archived tracks as intended. The CD is limited to 2500 copies.
