Dave Charlesworth - "Special Feeling" (7:12)
D Lux & Y No - "25 Miles" (6:33)
S R - "Pressure" (7:03)
Review: The Plastik People label has been going along nicely for its first few releases, with label head Marc Cotterell stepping up and coming correct last time out. Now he calls upon various artists with Dave Charlesworth taking care of the a-side of Nice Ripe Cuts. He offers two super slick garage cuts that cannot fail to make their mark on the club and it's no different on the flipside except D Lux & Y No combine first for '25 Miles' and then S R offers the irresistible 'Pressure.' An essential 12" for anyone looking to bring some fresh garage flavours.

Review: Soulful NYC flavoured house from French production outfit Feet and Simon Grey. Yuanist Woods, whose provided vocals for DJ Fudge, Rufuss and Master H, provides the inspirational tones for this masterpiece of a production. An instrumental and acappella are included, as well as a second more ambient uplifting rub. The original mix has a dope Soulfuric vibe.

Rain Falls (dub Falls) (7:16)
Review: Following up some terrific collaborations with the likes of Julee Cruise. Keith Thompson and Keiko Yoshimura, Veteran New York City-based producer Eric Kupper is back on his long running Hysteria imprint with "Rain Falls' - this time with vocal contributions by singer/actor Yasmeen Sulieman. An expression in spiritual and life-affirming deep house exactly the way it's meant to be and simply mesmerising. The arrangement is the perfect backdrop to Sulieman's awe-inspiring voice. Some of you may remember Sulieman from her collaboration with Sonny Fodera on 2019's 'Caught Up' on Defected.

Everybody Be Somebody (original extended mix) (9:27)
Everybody Be Somebody (Back In The Days mix) (6:42)
Everybody Be Somebody (The Peppermint Jam extended mix) (6:47)
Review: On its initial release back in 1995, this DJ Spen co-production was something of an underground club hit, with labels around the world releasing their own licensed versions. This Groovin' Records reissue edition of 'Everybody Be Somebody' effectively showcases the most in-demand versions. Side A boasts the original US extended version - a nine-minute fusion of crunchy machine drums, dirty bass, heady band percussion, lo-fi disco guitar licks and sweet female vocals. Over on the flip you'll find two European revisions from Mousse T's Peppermint Jam crew: his own 'Back In The Days Mix', which gives it a subtle disco flavour, more fully-featured instrumentation and some lovely electronic lead lines, and the sleazy, acid-flecked, hip-house inspired 'Peppermint Jam Extended Mix'.

Review: Giving their Nordic cosmic cousins a run for their money, Swedish Rollerboys continues their campaign for premium quality disco. Their last 12 featured the likes of Mark E and Prins Thomas and this one features even more of an all-star cast. The consistent sound throughout the EP is one of pristine, somewhat innocent, synth work, giving it an overwhelming classic 80s feeling. Let Go (Yass rework dub mix)
Review: Any fans of classically infused house music will want a go on this vinyl project brought to you from the Seasons Limited imprint that sees head honcho Yass joined by Tony Loreto and the mighty Arnold Jarvis on vocals. Sharp bursts of strings layered over rapid snares compliment a delicate violin melody to introduce the main mix. Jarvis's lyrics bounce over the top as the steady house backdrop swerves through shakers, dramatic crescendos and jazzy brass. An orchestral mish mash, "Let Go" explores eyes closed ambience with an abundance of classic instrumental contributions - while pushing things on with a four to the floor rhythm. Yass displays many colours within his producer's palette with this project and not only does he mix an instrumental version, but a re-worked vocal and a dub mix too.

PJ Sessions
Review: Salted is happy to welcome Yogi and Husky AKA Random Soul to the team! This one is comin' at ya straight from the land down under.
Sweet soul funk with an edge and a wide variety of flavours to choose from for all the house 'eds out there. We kick things off with
Salted's own Miguel Migs Petalpusher Rework of 'It Feels Alright'. Utilizing Yogi and Husky's original elements and giving it a new twist
with Migs' trademark sound and style combining the best of live instrumentation with current electronic stylings. This one is custom
designed for the dance floor with enough energy to rock the spot while maintaining a sweet R&B flavour with Yogi's vocals riding on top.
Next up is Yogi and Husky's 'Salty House Mix', bringing a straight-up, soulful, uplifting energy, created with the slick sound of Salted in
mind. Yogi's smooth harmonies and catchy vocal hook will have you singin' along. 'Let It Go' has more of a chopped-up, bumpin', electronic
kind of vibe with cut-up vocal madness and a chunky-ass bassline ready for dance floor damage. Last but not least 'PJ Sessions' simply
takes it back to a deep, soulful house sound with a bouncing b-line, catchy key lick and sweet sax riff.

Review: The Guesthouse label comes through with more irresistible house goodness from Joey Youngman who has been a master of this form for many years. His sound blends the best of funky, soulful grooves with raw house drums to light up any party. He kicks off in wild fashion with the big energy and chunky funk of 'Another Night' before 'Oakland' then layers up slinky drums and emotive vocal hooks into a bristling arrangement. 'Thankful' (JY remix) explores a deeper late-night sound with a more seductive vocal and low-slung drums then things close down with 'Elevate Me' (JY remix), a steamy sound with contemporary r&b vocals and melodies that bring the fun.

Review: Captain Joey strikes gold again on this hot three-tracker on Joey's awesome Fetish imprint. Fans of the Youngman sound will be feeling the big main track "One Thousand Words", which works a driving filtered loop over Joey's trademark chunky beats with some hot cut-up samples and hits tossed into the mix to great effect. On the flip B1's "Tongue Twister" is a twisted jacker with loads of boompty bass and squiggly synths for a real fat low-end banger. Closing it out on the deep and groovy tip "Mas Cuica" is a smooth builder with an nice Mark Farina deep vibe. Definitely one of the most solid Fetish releases yet.

Review: Joey Youngman doing it again with a proper romping three-track workout on his essential Jackin' Tracks. All of his releases are ace for the dancefloor and sell like hotcakes, and this one is no different. "Lunker Of The Lake" goes deep as Lake Michigan, with some nasty bass drops, hypnotic building key loops and that trademark Youngman percussion groove. B side keeps the dubby bottom-heavy funk going with "Borderline" veering off into trippy late night territory and "Fishin' All Day" working a nasty hypnotic bassline getting things going over some slick filtered loops. Proper dancefloor wrecking material that'll be getting banged by Farina, Heather and all the bigs.

Love Will Save Youngtee
Review: Coming to the fore in notable style with the debut release on Sir Andrew Blake's In Plain Sight label, the mysterious YoungTEE surprised a few people with his next release; a killer downtempo bass heavy mangling of the world's most famous Barbadian slipped out on a white label. Emboldened by the praise to this release, Youngtee belatedly returns with another reworking, this time focusing on the world's most famous and much missed exponent of the money note. As anyone who's witnessed a mass female rush for the dancefloor after "I Wanna Dance With Numbers" gets dropped can attest, the formula of Whitney Houston vocals over a four/four beat is foolproof and YoungTEE's update of her late 80s classic "Love Will Save The Day" is a sublime deep house revision.

Among the highlights include Tenaglia's mix of Green Velvet's classic "Flash", Santos' minimal "Primitive Cannible" or DJ Sneak's jacking mix of Doc Martin's "Set Me Free". A varied and masterful selection - just as you'd expect from such seasoned pros.
