"I Pray" moves in the direction of Ferrer & Quentin Harris, putting a more electronic edge into the production while never leaving out the soul. The vocal is gorgeous and the production is sparse and leaves enough room for all the parts to groove together nicely. A dub is included as is an awesome reprise which will bring down the house. A must for Regisford fans!

Review: The new label InStereo Recordings comes courtesy of DJ Dan, a US heavyweight who has been in the game since the 90s. While InStereo has existed in digital form for some time, this new incarnation of the label brings Dan's full-fat sound to vinyl, and it kicks off in style with an instantly recognisable, purple tinted edit of a perennial dancefloor funk classic entitled "Squissh." This is an unreservedly big room record, as "In Your Area" also ably demonstrates with its immaculately produced hooks and punchy rhythm section. Dan teams up with Ido on "That Sound," whipping up a disco-funk influenced frenzy, and then he tackles Scotty Boy's silky smooth "Hey Mr DJ" and turns it into a peak time belter.

Taking pride of place on the A-Side is Lewis's vocal cut - you really can't go past this - while on the flipside the instrumental brings those lovely strings and brass to the fore.

Review: Refreshingly good tribute re-rubs and mash-up work from some rather large producers keeping quiet for now. These mixes have been doing the damage in clubland for a long while but have only just become available on vinyl. We have managed to sneak a few copies but be quick because they won't be around for long. A side is a well crafted mix of Thriller, "Special" by Sir James mashed in with "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones with outstanding results already proven to rock any floor. The B side meanwhile is "Stand" by Sly and The Family Stone with Charles Manson's eerie vocals chopped in and out and also delivers killer results every time.

I love New York are producers Vic Plaminteri and Steph Mazzacani (aka Flower Power), best known for the track "Flower Power" that came out on the mighty Oxyd records. "Like it! Reminds me of "Call On Me" or "1000 Years", this record has a plenty of potentials." - Matteo Esse, "Listened to the tracks carefully and the 5th Avenue mix is my favourite one. It is produced with that Swedish flair I love. After absolutely destroying the dancefloors all year long with his infamous bootleg of Radiohead's "Everything In Its Right Place", which he smartly put out in extremely limited amounts of vinyl around the same time his mentor, Osunlade, featured his cover of that very same song on BBE's "Exit Music: Songs With Radio Heads". In all honesty Afefe remains a mystery even to us. So, let us start by saying who Afefe isn't. Unfortunately, for those who thought he was Osunlade, you are mistaken, but don't feel ashamed, because Afefe creates at Osunlade´s studio in Santorini, which makes sense to pinpoint him as Osunlade. Afefe is a very quiet man. Like our lost brother, J Dilla, Afefe wants his music to do the talking. And this is exactly what we're going to do. "Body Drummin" is exactly what it is. A percussion heavy track strictly for the dancefloor, its organic, yet techy-tinged feel brings such an urgency to move your hips that we would only recommend this for playing after midnight. Very rare tracks which have not really surfaced in the UK from the piano-meets-techno anthem "Sinply Just A Ventage" to the disco cut-up "Ventage" using bits of Ripple & MFSB. On the flip, its more on a Detroit tip as "Wondering" goes all mean and moody with building synth lines whilst "Q" (Right Brain mix) is an epic Underground Resistance techno symphony!! What an amazing record!

Review: Louie Vega & Joe Claussell together on one EP sure is a thing that's gigs to get house lovers excited. Both are bona fide legends who have very much helped to define their own unique musical niches within the house spectrum and find a real sweet spot here as they tackle Incongnito's 'Wake Me.' The eight minute-plus a-side is all about a dreamy trumpet lead that drifts up top, going into focus before melting away while rubbery drums roll beans with nice organic percussion and warming chords that are all set alight by a superbly soulful vocal. Flip it over for the instrumental, which is just as good.

Review: Ali Love and Luca C's huge summer smash "Infinity" gets the remix treatment. It was such a big track Crosstown Rebels have been careful to commission two remixes that won't piddle over the original in disrespect. Naturally they've nailed it. Claude VonStroke builds on the original, keeping a lot of the vocal and adding two walloping basslines that purr and poke against each other glee. Richy Ahmed, meanwhile, totally recreates the original with a new drum structure, deeper bassline and a pitched down vocal. It's not until the jaw-dropping drop that you notice any similarities. Two exemplary examples of remix magic. To Infinity and beyond!
