4ms Catalyst Controller 8-Channel Macro Controller Module
4ms Catalyst Controller 8-Channel Macro Controller Module (controller/function generator/sequencer module)
Cat: 995953 Rel: 11 Mar 24

8-channel macro controller module - 20HP
Notes: Really smart integration of macro controls for Eurorack, based on the original design by Emblematic Systems. Assign settings to eight CV outputs then morph with the crossfader or record movements to manage presets or set up complex real-time modulation. Can also operate as Catalyst Sequencer.

Supplier's Notes:
The Catalyst Controller is a macro controller with eight precision CV outputs and a responsive crossfader to morph between scenes. A scene is a snapshot of up to eight CV outputs, like a modular preset. Traverse a "pathway" composed of multiple scenes using the crossfader or an external CV signal, or immediately jump using the scene buttons. Record CV and slider movements, and play recordings back via a button or external trigger.

Each output has sub-millivolt precision and a maximum range of -5V to +10V. Channels have an adjustable morphing curve, can be quantized to common scales, restricted to a particular voltage range, or set to output gates.

Whether used as a CV preset manager, seamless transition generator, chord sequencer, CV recorder, or experimental CV playground, the Catalyst Controller puts control of your modular at your fingertips.

The Catalyst Controller can also turn into a Catalyst Sequencer! Hold down a special button combination to change between controller and sequencer modes. If you end up liking the Sequencer more, you can even remove the double-sided faceplate, flip it over, and re-install with the Sequencer artwork visible.

Based on the original Catalyst module from Emblematic Systems.

Specifications:

Smooth, responsive crossfade morphs between scenes
Eight output channels, each can be CV or Gate
Arrange scenes into pathways of up to 64 scenes
Smooth, responsive crossfader morphs from scene to scene along the pathway
Set slew/lag to limit how fast scenes can change
Adjustable Morph time per output
Control crossfading with an external CV
Record and playback up to 20 seconds of CV and crossfader motion
CV outputs can be set to -5V to +10V maximum, or limited to +/-5V, +5V, +3V, or +1V
CV outputs can be unquantized (sub-1mV resolution), or Quantized to common scales
Randomization of channel values/gates
Copy/paste
Based on the original Catalyst from Emblematic Systems

4ms Catalyst Sequencer 8-Channel Clock & Phase-Based CV/Gate Sequencer Module
4ms Catalyst Sequencer 8-Channel Clock & Phase-Based CV/Gate Sequencer Module (controller/CV modulation/sequencer/utility module)
Cat: 995961 Rel: 11 Mar 24

8-channel clock & phase-based CV/gate sequencer module - 20HP
Notes: The Catalyst Sequencer combines a traditional clocked step-sequencer with an unconventional phase-based sequencer to produce a new paradigm in sequencing. Eight precision CV sequencer channels can be simultaneously driven by a clock, a phase CV, or scrubbed manually with the crossfader.

Each of the eight channels has its own sequence length, quantizer, transposition, clock divider, randomization, voltage range (max -5V to +10V), and selectable CV (precise 16-bit resolution) or Gate mode.

Phase-based sequencing is an advanced form of sequencing where each step is selected by CV. The Catalyst Sequencer has a smooth, responsive crossfader that scrubs the sequence, playing it forward or backwards to track your motions. Patching in a CV signal will do the same: a ramp-up CV plays the sequence forwards, a ramp-down plays it backwards, a triangle plays it ping-pong, and complex waveforms generate new interesting rhythmic and melodic patterns.

The Catalyst Sequencer can also turn into a Catalyst Controller! Hold down a special button combination to change between sequencer and macro controller modes. If you end up liking the Controller more, you can even remove the double-sided faceplate, flip it over, and re-install with the Controller artwork visible.

Based on the original Catalyst module from Emblematic Systems.

4ms DLD Dual Looping Delay Module
4ms DLD Dual Looping Delay Module (delay/dual/stereo/effect synth module)
Cat: 589504 Rel: 02 Nov 16

Advanced audio processor synthesiser module for creative synthesis - 20HP wide
Notes: Announcing the Dual Looping Delay from 4ms Company, designed by Gary Hall!

The 4ms Dual Looping Delay (or DLD) is an advanced audio processor for creative synthesis. Not a tape or analog emulation but a modern crystal-clear digital delay, the DLD combines features of delay, looping, and sample-tight synchronization for powerful and dynamic sound capture and modification. The DLD is designed to integrate seamlessly with modular time-base and sequencing devices such as the 4ms Quad Clock Distributor (QCD), etc.

What is a "Looping Delay"?
Modern looping devices grew directly from hardware digital delays of the late 70s and early 80s. A looping delay, modelled on units such as the classic Lexicon PCM42, has the very long storage times associated with dedicated looping, but without triggered record and playback functions.

By default, a looping delay records and plays continuously, though recording can be suspended at any time with Infinite Repeat. Sustain of delays and loops is mainly accomplished with regeneration, allowing an organic, evolving approach to sound creation as new material replaces old, more or less gradually. The 4ms Dual Looping Delay also provides advanced clock input and output facilities that allow for locking delayed and looped material with sequencers and rhythm devices of all descriptions.

The 4ms Dual Looping Delay is conceived and designed by Gary Hall. Implemented and manufactured by 4ms Company

4ms Shaped Dual EnvVCA 2-Channel Analogue Envelope Generator Module (dual/stereo/envelope generator/function generator/VCA/waveshaper synth module)
Cat: 913168 Rel: 08 Dec 22

A two-channel analogue envelope generator with waveshapers and a stereo linear VCA.
Notes: The Shaped Dual EnvVCA is a two-channel analogue envelope generator with waveshapers and a stereo linear VCA. Unlike conventional analogue envelope modules, the waveform of each envelope can be controlled with a slider or CV without changing the envelope timing. With a wide time range from an hour to 2.5kHz, and a plethora of CV inputs and attenuverters, it can be used as an LFO, audio-rate oscillator, slew limiter, waveshaper, ASR/ADSR/complex EG, independent audio/CV VCA, envelope follower, sidechain processor, and general utility module. Each channel has dedicated linear outputs plus attenuverters and offset controls for the variable waveshape outputs, making it an ideal modulation source and stereo VCA.

4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator Module
4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator Module (filter/envelope follower/digital/oscillator/dual/stereo synth module)
Cat: 589505 Rel: 10 Dec 15

Innovative resonant filter synthesiser module - 26HP
Notes: The Spectral Multiband Resonator from 4ms Company is an innovative resonant filter which can process audio like a classic filter bank, ring like a marimba when plucked/struck, vocode, re-mix tracks, harmonize, output spectral data, quantize audio to scales, and much more...
A gorgeous ring of colored lights displays the frequency of each filter, as well as the levels and current scale selection(s).

At a glance, the SMR works like a normal six-band graphic EQ: six frequency band-pass filters are mixed together using sliders. Resonance/Q is variable, which changes the "ringy-ness" or width of the bands.

But here's where comparison stops. The frequency of each channel is treated like a note in a scale, and the six bands form a chord. Spin the Rotate knob and the "notes" circle around the scale, rotating back to the bottom once they've reached the top. Adjust Spread and the distance (interval) between each note changes. Triggers for up/down motion, CV inputs for sequencing and scale selection allow for flexible control with external modules. Morph, which automatically cross-fades between frequencies, together with variable Slew allows rhythmic clocks drive the SMR as a variable-speed evolving resonant filter.

At maximum Resonance/Q, the SMR can be struck like a gong or marimba by inputting clocks or triggers. The frequency of each channel is quantized to a scale: beautiful chords, ethereal tones and eerie ambiance flows easily. With lower resonance, the SMR can pull out particular frequency bands, and sweep these across the spectrum.

Two 1V/octave Frequency jacks allow for tracking even and/or odd bands and creating floating melodies over evolving chord bases, or complex percussive membrane sounds.

Save your settings into one of six storage banks, and recall on the fly. On startup, the SMR instantly jumps to the last saved settings. The color scheme of the lights can be adjusted, so if you prefer all white lights on your modular, you can have that (or all red, or rainbows, pastels, etc..)!

Advanced features:
- Program your own scale. The frequency of each of the 20 notes can be assigned by setting the octave, the semi-tone, and coarse and fine micro-tone. Up to 11 scales can be saved permanently in the user bank
- Adjust color scheme of the LEDs. Pick a pre-programmed color scheme or create your own using the sliders to set Red/Green/Blue values. Custom color schemes can be saved permanently
- Save your settings in one of six parameter banks. Note position, scale and bank selection, Q value, Lock settings and color scheme can be saved and recalled on the fly. On startup, the SMR loads settings from the last saved bank.
- Optional alternative filter type for a more exponential decay when plucked and different timbral qualities. Freq jacks no longer track 1V/oct in this mode.
- Slider LEDs can be assigned to display level for each channel (combination of slider position and CV on the jack), or clipping for each channel.

4ms Stereo Triggered Sampler Recorder & Playback Module
4ms Stereo Triggered Sampler Recorder & Playback Module (sampling/digital/dual/stereo/oscillator/synth voice synth module)
Cat: 655465 Rel: 29 Aug 17

High fidelity, two-channel stereo sample recorder & playback module
Notes: The Stereo Triggered Sampler can record high quality stereo files, while simultaneously playing two different stereo files. A maximum of 600 samples can be loaded from the removable/swappable microSD card, in a variety of formats up to 96kHz/32-bit/stereo WAV. All sample parameters (1V/oct pitch, sample file selection, length, and start position) are CV controllable.

600 Samples:
A maximum of 600 samples can be loaded at once, arranged into banks of 10 samples each. Samples and banks can be re-arranged on the fly using the simple on-board Edit features. Newly recorded samples can be instantly played back and re-pitched, reversed, chopped up, etc... the result of which can even be bounced down and re-recorded to as a new sample! Sample files are limited to 4GB each, which is over 6 hours at 44k/16b/stereo.

Two Stereo Playback Channels:
Each playback channel has a knob and CV jack for Sample File selection, as well as a Start Position knob and CV jack for controlling where in the sample playback will begin. The Length knob and CV jack determine how much of the sample is played back: from tiny grains, to percussive hits, to longer loops... or just the entire file. These are powerful tools for re-arranging a sample, joining multiple samples, and creating dynamically re-sized loops within a larger sample. Combined with the Play Trigger jack and the 1V/oct jack, the STS can be two complete multi-timbral pitch-tracked stereo voices!
There's also a Reverse button and jack for backwards playback, and an End Out jack for synchronizing loops, or cascading sample playback with other events.

Looping and Sync:
Looping is easy: just hold the PLAY button down for two seconds to toggle loop or one-shot. The loop timing clock will output from the End Out jack. Or, send a clock into the Play Trig jack to sync the loop to external timing.

Stereo Recording:
Whether you patched 47 modules to create the ultimate percussive blast, or you want to capture your four hour ambient performance, recording high-quality .wav files on the STS is simple. Just hit the REC button or fire a trigger and a new stereo .wav file will be created on the SD card. Do as many takes as you need: the STS never deletes your files. Re-ordering or re-arranging samples into banks is easy, even without a computer.
You can even fill a bank with 10 different variations and immediately use them for playback.
By default the STS records at 44.1kHz/16-bit, with an option for 24-bit (a future update may increase the sample rate to 96kHz)

Easy sample loading:
Using a computer is completely optional with the STS, since samples can be recorded directly to the module and placed into the bank of your choosing. But for users with large existing sample banks, the intuitive automatic bank loading features make dragging and dropping your entire sample library a snap. You never have to rename your files again!

4ms Tapographic Delay Eurorack Module
4ms Tapographic Delay Eurorack Module (delay/digital/effect/dual & stereo/filter/reverb eurorack module)
Cat: 669145 Rel: 28 Jan 18

Complex multi-tap delay - 18HP
Notes: The Tapographic Delay is a complex multi-tap delay in the Eurorack format with a unique interface designed for live performance. It excels at transforming the simplest audio (a drone, a percussive sound) into complex rhythmic structures, meshes of organic textures, lush harmonic mille-feuilles, liquid and resonant effects.

Have you ever got tired of the monotonous repetitions that your standard delay pedal/module produced? Have you ever wished for a more complex rhythmic structure than just decaying repetition? If yes, you have come to the right place: the Tapographic Delay is an advanced effect that lets you handle repetition in a completely novel way. It is to a traditional delay what a full rhythmic sequencer (with pattern recall, velocity control, tactile input) is to a simple clock. With the TD, you interactively define the rhythm that the repetitions will follow: a velocity-sensitive sensor allows you to record, edit, modify, and sequence your own arrangements of delays. In a sense, the TD is the converse of the classic Frippertronics sound-on-sound setup popularized by Robert Fripp in the 70's: you don't play the guitar, you play the tape loop!

The Tapographic Delay is an expressive experimental instrument meant to be played in real-time, rather than a set-and-forget end-of-chain effect. Interact with it! Experiment! Push it to its limits!

ACL Audio Interface Module With Aux Input & Headphone Amp
ACL Audio Interface Module With Aux Input & Headphone Amp (dual/stereo/mixer/utility/external/preamp module)
Cat: 665156 Rel: 05 Oct 17

Audio interface module - 14HP
Notes: The main purpose of the ACL Audio Interface module is to interface modular synthesizer systems with professional audio recording and stage equipment.
The combination of studio quality signal path, flexible routing possibilities and a headphone amplifier, capable of driving both high and low impedance headphones with low distortion, makes the connection between these different environments effortless and sonically transparent.
The ACL Audio Interface offers balanced to unbalanced and unbalanced to balanced stereo lines with level controls. The stereo signal from the auxiliary input, also with level control, can be optionally routed to and mixed together either with balanced to unbalanced, or unbalanced to balanced line signals, or can be muted. The headphone ampli fier can also get its signal from one or the other line after the level control and mixing stage, or can be muted. Since the amplifier is AC coupled only at the input, but not at the output, there is an on-board DC protection circuit included. In case the headphone ampli fier is driven into clipping, the protection can also be tripped. The module has a soft start function and one overload indicator for every line.

Features

One DC coupled electronically balanced input to unbalanced output stereo line with LEVEL control, can vary from full attenuation to unity voltage gain (0 dB).
One AC coupled unbalanced input to electronically balanced output stereo line with LEVEL control, can vary from full attenuation to voltage gain of two (+6 dB).
One routable AC coupled auxiliary stereo input with mute function and LEVEL control, can vary from full attenuation to voltage gain of two (+6 dB).
One routable AC coupled stereo headphone ampli fier with VOLUME control, can vary from full attenuation to voltage gain of two (+6 dB).
DC and clipping protection circuit for the headphone ampli fier, switches off headphone output if DC at the output exceeds i50 mV and/or in case of hard clipping.
Two overload indicators - one for every stereo line, calibrated to turn on when the audio levels at the outputs exceed 4,5 Vpp

ACL Discrete Core Ladder Filter VCF Module
Cat: 665165 Rel: 18 Oct 17

Transistor ladder VCF module - 18HP
Notes: The VCF ladder design consists of 4 stages, providing a buffered output for each of the 4 stages separately in order to get a 6dB, 12dB, 18dB and 24dB/octave -sloped filter outputs individually. (The outputs at different stages then could be mixed together using a polarizing mixer to achieve different filter slopes and even different bandpass behaviors.) The cutoff frequency of the VCF can be controlled manually using the knob named CUTOFF and by 3 independent external control voltages, connected to the input jacks named „1V/OCT", „CV1" and/or „CV2", while „CV1" and „CV2" inputs get an attenuator each (Knobs named „CV1" and „CV2").

The VCF's resonance can be controlled manually and by an external CV connected to the RESONANCE input and attenuverted by the knob named RESONANCE CV. When resonance is turned up fully, self oscillation will occur, enabling use of the VCF as a voltage controlled quadrature VCO since each stage output signal is phase shifted by 90- to the previous stage. Resonance is provided by feeding back the output of the last stage to the input of the 1st stage. A switch called Q LIN switches between 3 different feedback settings, affecting the frequency linearity of the feedback path: In a very classic design of a lowpass adder VCF, the lower frequencies are damped more than higher frequencies, generating a loss of self oscillation at low cutoff frequencies. This behavior can be achieved by switching Q LIN to LOW or MID, assigning 2 different cutoff frequencies of high pass filter in the feedback loop of the filter. By switching Q LIN to HI the cutoff frequency of that high pass filter is lower than 1 Hz, enabling self oscillation even down to the LFO range of frequencies. The cutoff frequency is temperature stabilized and shows good tracking with 1V/Oct. to up to 5 octaves.

3 audio signals can be connected, being summed together to one signal in order to enter the VCF. When approaching 8V PP, the ladder will start to saturate, creating a awesome creamy and compressed sound, which will bend and evolve more and more to a very strongly saturated and distorted sound, the further the ladder gets overdriven by the signal. In many ladder designs, the lower frequencies gets more attenuated (bass loss), when increasing resonance, approximating a bandpass behaviour at very high resonance settings.
We added a knob called BASS BOOST for restoring the low frequencies and boosting them at high resonance settings. That way you can make very bombastic bass sounds, since the sound might get higher resonance settings and still keep
it's bass fundament.

When not overdriven by input audio signals, the overall distortion of the fully discrete audio signal circuitry is quite low due to the use of low distortion discrete buffers, enabling a very clean sine wave when self-oscillating no too strongly, unlike some other designs. The use of matched components made it possible to keep the CV-feedthrough quite low.

ACL Dual State Variable VCF Audio Signal Processor Module
Cat: 665158 Rel: 18 Oct 17

State variable filter with 12dB slope, individual outputs & variable filter routing - 26HP
Notes: The Dual State Variable VCF consists of two multimode filters with high-pass, band-pass, notch and low-pass outputs. The circuits feature an edge steepness of -12 dB per octave. Routing options allow serial or parallel connection. Thanks to normalizations and a total of three cutoff potentiometers, stereo material can be processed as comfortably as mono signals.

Furthermore, a well-known feature from the Oberheim SEM synthesizer was implemented in the Dual State Variable VCF: The notch characteristic can be weighted more to the high-pass or low-pass side.

The resonance sounds extraordinarily rich and wet, even high values never sound all too harsh. While self-oscillating, the filters can be played like sine oscillators. By modulating both circuits in opposite direction, users are able to achieve interesting stereo effects.

ACL Envelope X3 v2 Triple ADSR Envelope Generator Module
ACL Envelope X3 v2 Triple ADSR Envelope Generator Module (CV modulation/envelope generator module)
Cat: 655470 Rel: 03 Jul 17

Triple attack, decay, sustain and release envelope generator module - 20HP
Notes: How do you make a near-perfect three ADSR module even better? Well, obviously you make it slimmer and add some bling! So that's exactly what we did!

Let's get the boring descriptive bit out of the way first: Our Envelope X3 provides three classic ADSR envelopes for controlling VCAs, VCFs, and other modules. So, why should you care?

Well, we modelled the envelopes on those of the acclaimed Roland 100M modular synthesiser, which are renowned for their punch. We wanted to add something extra, so shortened the envelope time parameters even further - thus, our truly lightning-fast responses make Envelope X3 particularly excellent for drums, bass, and other sounds that benefit from fast, tight envelopes.

The long and short of it

But fear not, it's not a one trick pony, offering both Long and Short modes (with overlapping ranges), making it perfectly suited to pads, drones, and similar sounds too.

On a feature level, each envelope has independent gate inputs and one non-inverted and one inverted buffered output. Additionally, gate 1 is normalised* to all three envelopes, allowing one gate input to power three envelope generators simultaneously, without any additional patching.

A modular makeover

Now, in version 2, you get all of this in a smaller case, plus the addition of LEDs. These deliver highly responsive real-time visual representation of the envelope action. This isn't just pretty (and it really is pretty), but a surprisingly useful reference, whether you're tweaking envelope parameters or playing around in another part of your rack.

And rest assured, the weightloss and shiny lights haven't affected Envelope X3's performance: All components still feature very low temperature drift, irrespective of the environment temperature or component age. Expect high stability and repeatability (essential for very fast repeating percussive sounds).

Smack to the future

Whether on stage or in the studio, you can be sure that any sounds you shape with the Envelope X3 will sound as consistent over a time frame of years as they do on a scale of milliseconds.

ACL S-Mix Out X3 3-Channel Stereo Mixer Module
ACL S-Mix Out X3 3-Channel Stereo Mixer Module (dual/stereo/external/mixer/utility module)
Cat: 845822 Rel: 23 Sep 21

3-channel stereo mixer module with headphone output - 10HP
Notes: Mix three mono or stereo signals together with gain control into a stereo output and/or to a headphone output with individual gain control.

Similarly to ACL's Audio interface module, the ACL S-MIX-OUT module is an audio interface module connecting the world of Eurorack with your studio. Unlike the Audio interface module, the ACL S-MIX-OUT comprises no inputs for line-level signals and it comes with servo-balanced 1/4" jacks instead of XLR jacks. There is a headphone amplifier, too.

The audio quality is the same as with the Audio Interface module, mostly same or similar circuitry is used here.

S-MIX-OUT offers 3 stereo inputs for modular signals, all inputs normalised to the left channel.

All inputs can be mixed together using attenuator potentiometers.

There is an overload indicator LED for each channel.

The same protection circuitry around the headphone amplifier is built in as is used in ACL's Audio Interface module.

All 3 inputs a routable to either the 1/4" stereo main out, the headphone or both using a 3 positions switch. That way a prelisten bus is easily configured.

ACL Variable Sync VCO Module
ACL Variable Sync VCO Module (oscillator module)
Cat: 665162 Rel: 05 Oct 17

Variable sync voltage controlled oscillator module - 16HP
Notes: The ACL Variable Sync VCO is a precise, excellent sounding VCO, providing five simultaneous waveforms, a VC variable-sync feature, deep linear FM and more, and all with precise tracking and low temperature drift. There are any number of treasured components in our modular system, and it's a thankless task to rank them, but anything that generates audio deserves a place at the head table. Out of respect for this honoured status, we've tried to do some particularly cool things with our Variable Sync VCO, and push it to some uncommon extremes.

First thing's first though: These oscillators sound great, with exactly the kind of classic raw vintage synthesiser tone you'd wish for. The sound is derived from one ramp core oscillator, with several waveshaper subcircuits, allowing saw, inverted saw, triangle, sine, and rectangle. And since we only like randomness and unexpected results on our terms, exclusively at times of our choosing, consistent tuning is the name of the game.

There's more to life than tone and tuning accuracy, so additionally, when synced to another VCO, the degree of synchronisation (i.e. soft-sync, hard-sync) can be set manually by knob, or by an external CV. In other words, this lets you morph between soft- to hard-sync. Which is pretty nice. There are many fun results to be had here. For example, you can modulate the Sync Threshold to create a variety of effects, such as 'pulse trains' or crazily stuttered waves, for a weird, bizarre, and wonderful world of sci-fi sound. Used in conjunction with frequency modulation, this can introduce fascinating harmonics to otherwise harmonic-free sine waves.

Plus, we don't want to show off, but the linear FM modulation amount is quite huge for this type of VCO. And the input for linear frequency modulation is AC coupled (enabling very high modulation amounts with minimal drift off the center pitch) and configured like differentiator.

If all this is going over your head, it essentially means minimal detuning is introduced. The VCO features low, middle, and high modes, which, together with the 10 turn precision Tune pot, results in a very convenient on-the-fly ay of tuning the module. The frequency can be modulated exponentially from two CV inputs.

There is so much more to say about the Variable Sync VCO, and we invite you to check out the PDF manual for more details, but VCOs should be judged as much on their sound as their features, so we also urge you to listen to some of the audio demos to hear it in action.

ADDAC System ADDAC111 Ultra .WAV Player Module (red faceplate)
Cat: 776121 Rel: 08 Sep 20

.wav player module
Notes: The ADDAC111 ULTRA .WAV PLAYER is the long awaited upgrade to the praised ADDAC101 .WAV PLAYER.

While keeping all functions of the original, there's more dedicated controls as well as a few new functions.

For this version, Micro SD Cards were used- this decision was made in order to help the hardware construction and make it only 3cm deep.

An Expansion module, ADDAC111B, was also created to allow users to recall the first 8 files through dedicated trigger signals. This allows sequencing of files.

The Loop Size, Start Point and Sample Rate defines how the loop is played.

Loop Settings defines if sample is looping or playing only once.

File Access if it advances to the next or previous file.

The VCA section controls the overall volume of the module.

And finally the Envelope Follower generates a CV voltage related to the amplitude of the audio signal pre-VCA.

ADDAC System ADDAC503 Marble Physics Module (red faceplate)
Cat: 776332 Rel: 08 Sep 20

Marble physics module
Notes: Newtonian physics on a modular synth! The ADDAC503 Marble Physics is a CV generator based on the mechanics behavior of a marble on a tray.

Through this realtime physics simulator you'll be able to control several parameters that will affect the behavior of a model of a spherical object against a plane. You can tilt the plane or bump the marble with a certain strength, which will cause it to roll and bounce on elastic walls.

The model will output the object's XY position or velocity and you can control other physical parameters, like the walls' elasticity or the strength of a bump. When the marble hits walls the bounce output triggers and you can additionally lock the X axis for a one dimension simulation. Finally you can also set the overall speed of the simulation.

By controlling all of these properties you be able simulate several scenarios where the marble falls, gets gently pulled by gravity, orbits indefinitely or bounces on walls like a pinball. Truly engaging physics simulations!

ADDAC System ADDAC504 Probabilistic Generator Module
ADDAC System ADDAC504 Probabilistic Generator Module (random/clock modulator synth module)
Cat: 776335 Rel: 15 Sep 20

Complex gate and CV generator module in 10HP.
Notes: This is a complex Gate / CV generator based on probabilities.

Functions:

Knob 1:
%1 = Gate 1 Probability
5TG = Fifth Output Type: Trigger/Gate
N1 = Note 1 Tuning

Knob 2:
%2 = Gate 2 Probability
T.SIZE = Trigger Size
N2 = Note 2 Tuning

Knob 3:
%3 = Gate 3 Probability
DIR = LOCK Mode Direction: Backwards/pendulum/forward
N3 = Note 3 Tuning

Knob 4:
%4 = Gate 4 Probability
S.SIZE = LOCK Mode Sequence Size: up to 16 steps
N4 = Note 4 Tuning

Knob 5:
SWING X = Clock Swing X: 1 to 16
Y = Clock Swing Y: 1 to 16
N5 = Note 5 Tuning

Gate Outputs Behaviour:

At every clock input, based on the four knobs probability settings, the module will select one active gate out, only one of the five gates will be active at all times. All Gate outputs can also behave as a Trigger instead, Trigger size can also be adjusted.

The knobs set the probabilities of each gate to be chosen, here's an example of how this operates

With all first four knobs at 12 o'clock the first Gate has 50% of being the chosen one, the remaining 50% of the times will be passed through the next knobs. So Gate 2 at 12 o'clock has 50% of the remaining 50% left by setting one, which leaves it with 25% chance of being the chosen one, the remaining 25% will be passed through Knob 3 which will have 12.5% chance of being the chosen one, the remaining 12.5% will be sent to Setting 4 which will have a probability of 6.25%. The remaining percentage left by the 4 Settings will always be the probability of Gate 5, in this case the remaining 6.25%.

Here's a couple more examples.

All knobs at 12 0'clock
Setting 1 = 50% chance, 50% left for remaining settings.
Setting 2 = 25% chance, 25% left for remaining settings.
Setting 3 = 12.5% chance, 12.5% left for remaining setting.
Setting 4 = 6.25% chance, 6.25% left for Gate 5.

All knobs at 9 0'clock (aproximate values)
Setting 1 = 20% chance, 80% left for remaining settings.
Setting 2 = 16% chance, 64% left for remaining settings.
Setting 3 = 12.8% chance, 51.2% left for remaining setting.
Setting 4 = 10.24% chance, 40.96% left for Gate 5.

Tuning and CV outputs:

While in the Tuning page you can use all knobs to set the 5 pitches
When in tuning page knobs should be rotated one at a time!
While rotating the knobs the CV out 4 will be used as a monitor, the other 3 CV outs will be behaving normally.
The module detects which pot is being rotated and outputs the relative pitch CV on CV out 4 for all knobs.
While on this page the tuning will be quantized or not relative to the panel Quantize on/off switch. Even if this process is done in quantized mode the module always store the free value in order to allow quantisation to be turned off later.
Once you're happy with the tuning you can exit the page, new values are stores to memory while exiting the page.
When tuning the module detects both the note selected and the relative octave.

CV Outs behaviour
This will be easier to explain with examples

Let's say we tuned these notes:

C0 or 0v
D1 or 1.166v
F2 or 2.466v
G3 or 3.583v
A4 or 4.75v

1. Next Logic out calculated is gate 3.
CV outs 1-2-3 will output a note in octave 2, the note itself is randomised from the 5 tuned notes (C,D,F,G,A).
CV out 4 will output the exact note tuned with knob 3 (F2)

2. Next Logic out calculated is gate 5.
CV outs 1-2-3 will output a note in octave 4, the note itself is randomised from the 5 tuned notes (C,D,F,G,A).
CV out 4 will output the exact note tuned with knob 5 (A4)

Out 1-2-3 is octave related
Out 4 always output the original tuned note

Knobs Pages access:

MENU/TRIGGER button is used to access pages
After power up it gets to first page by default.

Page 1:
MENU/TRIGGER button is off and blinks with clock inputs

Page 2:
Pressing the MENU/TRIGGER button for 3 seconds the Button Led lights up meaning you're in Page 2, changing knobs will affect the secondary function.
Releasing the button jumps to Page 1

Page 3:
Pressing the MENU/TRIGGER button for 3 seconds the Button Led lights up, keeping it pressed without moving any knob for 3 more seconds makes the Button led go off. At this time you can release the button. After that the button will light up meaning you're in page 3, or the tuning page.
Pressing the button one time jumps to Page 1

Soft-Recall and Memory:

Knob positions are stored in memory while in operation to be able to have a soft recall of the settings, so when jumping from page to page you'll need to rotate the knob until you find the last setting and only then they start to operate. Whenever the pot crosses the last setting point the MENU/TRIGGER button will blink indicating that the knob is now active.

Page 2 & 3 have permanent memory so it will always load the last settings after power up.
Page one is volatile and powers up with the initial knobs settings.

ADDAC System ADDAC508 Swell Physics Module (CV modulation/quad module)

A CV generator based on the simulation of a physical system, ocean swells
Notes: Following ADDAC's ADDC503 Marble Physics here is a new simulation of a physical system. This time, imagine a small area in the middle of the ocean, in this area we place 4 equally spaced buoys anchored to the bottom in such a system that we can control the spacing between the buoys. Imagine we can control the elements and agitate the waters at will which in turn will make the buoys move up and down as the water surface moves.

Finally imagine the buoys would wirelessly transmit their absolute height directly to your module outputs where they would be mapped to a voltage signal.

ADDAC use a Gerstner Wave as the motor behind the two-dimensional wave generation. In fluid dynamics a Gerstner Wave is described as "a progressive wave of permanent form on the surface of an incompressible fluid of infinite depth". Gerstner waves are often used in computer graphics to simulate any type of water surface, if you've seen any animation film or computer game with water surfaces in it most probably it features a Gerstner wave generating it.

ADDAC System ADDAC601 8-Band Analogue Voltage Controlled Fixed Filterbank Module
Cat: 776346 Rel: 15 Sep 20

8-band analogue voltage controlled fixed filterbank module - 20HP.
Notes: Eight independent fixed-frequency filter bands combine with linear VCAs to create massive sonic potential. VCAs also double as envelope followers, with a CV output per band.

Supplier's Notes:

The ADDAC601 Analog Filterbank will have you shaping the spectrum of your sound "tout de suite".

With its 8 fixed frequencies, this very special filterbank has two additional features that you won't find anywhere else. Each of the 8 band volumes can be controlled through a linear high performance VCA, which adds great dynamics and new abilities to the art of filtering. Additionally this module also doubles as an envelope follower, with a dedicated CV output per band.

ADDAC System ADDAC603 VC Triple Bandpass Filter Module
ADDAC System ADDAC603 VC Triple Bandpass Filter Module (distortion/filter/VCA synth module)
Cat: 776351 Rel: 08 Sep 20

Triple bandpass filter module
Notes: The ADDAC603 VC Triple Bandpass Filter provides three channels of bandpass filters, fantastic for sculpting complex sounds. Each of the channels feature a gain/distortion control with switch to select between x3 or x100 gain, which can cause the input signals to distort, adding another layer of harmonic interest.

The inputs are cascaded together to allow for one source to be filtered three different ways - or each filter can be used independently. The three filters also feature controls for frequency, which sets the cutoff point; width, which sets the width of the band that is being filtered; feedback, which at high settings causes the filter to self-oscillate, and level control, which sets the amplitude of the output. Frequency, bandwidth, and output level each have CV inputs with attenuverters.

A switch sets whether the filter is 24 dB or 12dB per octave. There are individual outputs with phase switch, plus a mix output and dry/wet output with adjustable control for mix balance. This module provides a wide variety of filtering options to add complex tonal shaping to your rack.

ADDAC System ADDAC611 Gotharman's VC Tube Filter Module (black)
ADDAC System ADDAC611 Gotharman's VC Tube Filter Module (black) (distortion/filter/mixer/tube synth module)
Cat: 776355 Rel: 08 Sep 20

Tube filter module
Notes: This module was developed upon the Tubaz Filter which was released in 2014 by Gotharman but is currently no longer in production. We loved the original module so much that we officially licensed it's circuit and expanded it to feature several new functionalities.

Here's a paragraph from Gotharman regarding the original design:
"I designed it with the purpose of adding crunch, edge and distortion to my eurorack system. It is not an ideal bandpass filter, that cuts off all frequencies above and below the center frequency.
Because of its high drive, there are, in most cases, some bleedthrough of the harmonics, that should have been cut off. You might consider calling it a "Band Add" filter. The main purpose of it, was to add edge, not to be a perfect bandpass filter."

While everything he mentions is still true we believe he was being modest, It's a dirty, gritty, growling and whining monster which promises you some of the most peculiar filter sounds you'll ever hear.
However do not classify it as a "weird" distortion unit just yet because besides this hairy character it can be easily tamed (using lower volume levels) and then, with some care and intention from the user, it will transforrm itself showing it's feline purrrrr and cuddle sweet and caring, or like any good mut, showing up at night all happy, wet and dirty from a full dog's day and will lay down at your feet while wiggling it's tail howling as yawning just happy to be back home.

As such, standard volume principles do not quite apply to these units, the Audio Levels will go up to x2 amplification, Drive will go up to x11 and master outs go up to x2. The combination of these will cover all diferent qualities it can present. Overall sound can be distorted pre-Tube (raising input levels), in Tube (raising drive) or post-Tube (raising Out levels).
Higher Inputs and Drive will always be gritty, lower Inputs and Drive volumes together with higher Output levels will make the overall behaviour more mellow and closer to what a typical filter would behave like.

No standard expectations should be considered when acquiring these units, all of the tubes were built in the 70's and were bought from various sources, we always kept the premise that no tube was a bad tube (unless not really workinng) so due to each specific characteristics no module will sound exactly the same, making each unit particularly unique. This uniqueness will be particularly evident on their resonance/self-oscilating timbre as well as in their own microphonic qualities.

Regarding power and current draw, the module is designed using a low power tube, so it won't starve your eurorack power supply.

ADDAC System ADDAC800X High-End Outputs Module (red faceplate)
Cat: 776392 Rel: 08 Sep 20

Outputs module
Notes: Inspired by the legacy designs of premium vintage gear, the ADDAC800X behaves like a high-quality DI box and is all about keeping the sound coming from your Modular free from any undesired noisy interferences, making sure that what you're getting from your outputs is what your Modular is actually producing. It provides galvanic electrical isolation between the Modular system and external sources preventing impedance mismatch and ground loop induced hum. ADDAC's 800X circuit is designed around a unity 1:1 type nickel core Hammond Audio Transformer from the 140UEX series (equivalent to Jensen audio transformers).

Operating in the 20 Hz to 20 KHz range and providing exceptional shielding from external sources, this impedance matching transformer provides the 800X with two fully balanced high-end outputs (via XLR connectors).

Applying a transformer balanced output isolation has lots of advantages over other less expensive ways for dealing with ground loop issues. This method provides the chance to set a very simple and clean circuit in which the signal transfer process develops smoothly and humming free. The transformer is a device that performs both signal balancing and high-to-low (or vice-versa) impedance conversion, while rejecting straggled DC voltage and Radio Frequency Interference from signal passing through a magnetic bridge. In a transformer, two (or more) coils (called windings) of insulated wire wound around a magnetic metal core allow for its input(s) and output(s) not to be physically connected together. When an AC signal passes through the input winding (the primary), a perfectly related AC signal appears on the output winding (the secondary). This way, by the fact that signal flows via inductive coupling between the two windings of the transformer, the ADDAC 800X presents a most accurate electrical isolation between its input and output. A same number of windings on each coil guarantees that there's no gain loss when audio signal passes from the primary to the secondary windings. Furthermore, since these two windings are insulated from each other, the transformer will electrically isolate the 800X from any other device, preventing hum problems coming from an outsider ground.

LEFT IN will output sound to both channels.
Through RIGHT IN, signal will only find its way on OUT 2 (if the LEFT/RIGHT toggle is lifted up, RIGHT IN will be ignored and LEFT IN will be present in both OUTs). With both INs connected you'll have two separate outputs (LEFT IN -> OUT 1 & RIGHT IN -> OUT2). However, lifting up the LEFT/RIGHT toggle you'll also find RIGHT IN ignored and LEFT IN will fed both OUTs.

Each TRANSFORMER ISOLATED OUTPUT section has its signal overload warning led and two dedicated toggle switches: one that works as a simple amplifier / attenuator pad to +6dB / -10dB respectively, and a LIFT/FLOAT/GND toggle. This last one is a 3-way selector that lets you choose between lift, ground or floating ground (toggle's middle position) to be taken as reference for the ground point. In the LIFT position the module circuit will be lifted to ground through a 100R resistor and a 10nF capacitor and pin 1 of the XLR connection will act as the ground point. Choosing GROUND will put ground to be shared between inputs and outputs. Floating ground will leave ins and outs grounds completely apart from each other. Any of these three positions may be the best form of avoiding ground loops or any other undesired interference occurring between your modular and the sound system you're plugging it into. Try out which one of this options will work the best in a given situation.

An HEADPHONES AMPLIFIER (with VOLUME knob) connection is available for quietly working with your modular or pre-listen your sounds before making them public matter in a live situation. This section features an OPA2134 High-Performance Audio Operational Amplifier. This device presents the ideal characteristics for use with an headphones set, like ultra-low distortion and low-noise fully specified for audio applications, in combination with high-output drive capability and excellent DC performance that altogether allow for high-dynamic headroom and really superior sound quality.

ADDAC System ADDAC803 Quadraphonic Spatializer Module (red)
Cat: 776406 Rel: 08 Sep 20

Quadophonic spatializer module
Notes: This is ADDAC System's Quadraphonic output module.

Using the VBAP (Vector-Base Amplitude Panning) principle, it allows to position a mono signal over a quadraphonic speaker array for sound spatialization. The VBAP algorithm can be controlled by Cartesian or Polar methods

Sound path is fully analogue featuring 4 high quality VCA's.

Featuring both 1/4 inch and 3.5mm jacks for adapter free connections.

Four 16 bit CV outputs mirror the signal sent to the VCA's control, when connected to 4 external VCA's these can be used for Polar Mixing of 4 diferent sound sources.

The 2 Filter CV outputs react according to the distance from the center point. The + output increases as the sound gets further away from the center of the room allowing to sync a Low Pass Filter to the input sound so that as it moves away from the center the High Frequencies get attenuated further increasing the spatialization experience. Another good practice would be to sync a reverb dry/wet signal as well so that the sounds gets more difused as it moves away from the center into the horizon.

Both the filter and the reverb should be plugged between the sound source and the 803, in order for the incoming sound to be processed before being routed to the 4 outputs.

The X and Y CV outputs mirror the cartesian sound position between 0 and +5v.

Mechanical:
. Format: Eurorack
. Width: 14 HP
. Depth: 6 cm

Control Voltage I/O:
. CV inputs: i 10v
. CV outputs: + 5v

After Later Audio Bartender Stereo Performance Mixer Module
Cat: 1004400 Rel: 11 Mar 24

4-channel stereo production mixer module - 24HP
Notes: Neatly implemented performance mixer with four stereo channels. CV control of level and pan, two pre- or post-fader stereo send busses, quiet mutes and cueing via a front-panel headphone socket.

Supplier's Notes:
Four channel stereo production mixer

Mixer section

Each channel has the following:

Stereo or mono - Each channel can be treated as a stereo channel or a mono channel with two summed inputs.

CV inputs for both panning and level control

Two send buses - You can route each channel to one of two send buses. Each send bus is stereo. You can choose if you want the send to come before or after the level/panning controls.

Mute - The mute has both latching mute (up) and a momentary mute (down). The mute uses a capacitor to slow the turn off and on of the mute action. So it is mostly click-less, but you may find an occasional pop.

Cue bus - You can route each channel to the cue bus.

Mains Section

Two stereo sends outputs
Two stereo returns - which can also be used to directly insert into the main mix.
Main stereo outputs - level controlled with the slider and stereo VU meter.
Main mono output - summed output of the main L&R. If you are after an 8ch mono mix, you can use each channel in stereo mode, use the level control to control the level and then pan control to control the levels of the two channels.

Cue Section

1/4" Headphone jack along with level control
Fader control to listen to the main mix, cue mix, or an adjustable mix of the two.
Expandable

Bartenders can be cascaded to create 8ch, 12ch, or 16ch mixer. The main level is what is sent the main level control can act as a group control.

Barbacks can be added to add 2ch to your mix. Barbacks can also be cascaded enabling up to a 16ch mixer configuration.

Send-VCA can be added for CV control of the level of the send.

DVCA, Cast Iron, Mingles, and USB-2CH can all be connected with Dupont cables (aka female to female breadboard cables) via pin headers on the back of the modules. Connecting the in and out pins will send/receive the audio into the next module.

AION Modular 921 Voltage Controlled Oscillator Module
Cat: 780149 Rel: 07 Jul 20

Voltage controlled oscillator module
Notes: The AION 921 VCO is a variable waveform generator which produces frequencies ranging from sub-audio (LFO) to 40.000 hz. Four waveforms are available: sine, triangular, sawtooth and rectangular (with variable duty cycle A.K.A. pulse width modulation).
Both fixed and variable levels can be obtained from the front panel output jacks. Nominal frequency and range controls (octave) are found at the top of the module.

Voltage controlled rectangular width (VC-PWM) is set by the knob in the upper center (left) with the accompanying voltage input jacks.
Multiple frequency control inputs 1 and 2 can be plugged into this module in parallel. Control input 3 is used via the pot for linear frequency response (Liniar FM). All waveform outputs can be used if desired.

This is what we consider an improved version of the Moog 921 VCO, not a direct clone. Improvements were made concerning tuning and stability issues.

Frequency range:
0.01 hz - 40.000 hz

Range switch:
sub audio - 0.01 - 400 hz
audio - 1 - 40.000 hz

Scale switch:
2 or 12 octave frequency span.

Auxiliary outputs:
2 jacks (one normal, one inverted) with selected waveforms (sine, triangle, sawtooth, inverted sawtooth rectangular and inverted rectangular).
Waveforms amplitude controllable from 0 to maximum.

Hard and Soft synchronisation selectable via a switch.
Synch must be "OFF" (center position) when synchronisation is not beeing used, otherwise it will sound out of tuning.

Specifications:
Depth: 40mm
Doepfer compatible.
