Notes: A Juno-inspired oscillator module? We're flattered, but credit has to go to Roland for this one. Based on the Juno-106's digitally-controlled analogue oscillators, the Castor & Pollux modernises the 80s design with a built-in LFO and hard sync.

Castor & Pollux is a dual oscillator that echoes back to the legendary Roland Juno but shines with its own unique, massive voice. It contains two digitally-controlled analogue oscillators implemented using a faithfully modernized version of the original Juno 106 design. It builds on the classic '80s sounds of its inspiration by using the second oscillator and internal LFO to layer in thick detuned sounds and harmonically complex hard synced waveforms.

Castor & Pollux II brings a redesigned interface and moves individual waveform outputs to an included expansion. Both versions have the same features and use the same firmware.

Notes: Need an offset voltage? Of course you do, you probably need one all the time, and you can never seem to find one. Well, here's two.

Yes, the Stereo Offset boasts not one but TWO linked offset voltages, and even better, they can be independently set as unipolar or bipolar with jumpers on the back of the module. To further aid your adventure in offsetting, bicolor LEDs will indicate the current state of both outputs.

Smoothly transition between voltages to simultaneously control other functions in your system, either by applying identical voltages to two different places, or by using simultaneous unipolar and bipolar signals for advanced control over your Eurorack system.

Notes: This is an envelope follower based on a classic module from the seventies but with some improvements to suit modern needs.

The IN signal is bifurcated to the envelope follower circuit and also to a THRU output, so the original signal is also available for external processing.

The envelope follower has three controls, a switch to select response time (fast, medium, slow), a pot to adjust GATE threshold and a pot to adjust the envelope CV level.

This little module will help you shape the timbre and/or the level envelopes of your sounds. From dynamic envelope filtering to compressor like side chaining there are lots of possibilities to mangle your audio.

Notes: As the name suggests this module can produce sub frequencies of -1 and -2 octaves relative to the square wave signal provided at the input jack.

But this is not just a simple SUB generator. It also has a little mixer that will let you add different levels of -1 and -2 octave signals to the original square wave. You can select the -2 octave signal to be a square wave or a pulse wave.

The module has individual outputs for the mixed signal, the -1 octave and the -2 octave.

This little modules can produce enough timbral variation to make you bass sound exciting.

Notes: The Tone Science Chance Delay is a unique concept in Eurorack modules as it combines chance and randomness, with pulse delay and pulse conditioning. It is a collaboration between electronic musician/composer Ian Boddy and AJH Synth.

It can perform as a Chance generator, but is also capable of pulse stretching for Trigger to Gate conversion, pulse shortening for Gate to Trigger conversion, Gate Delay, Sub Bass Generation and also "divide by n" clock division.

There is a wide range of control and all functions can be operated manually from the front panel or can be automated using external CV voltages. Chance can range between 0 to 100%. The Gate out can be delayed by anywhere between from 0.5mS to 30 Seconds, and the output Pulse length can also vary from 0.5mS to 30 Seconds.

The TRIG push button allows manual triggering of pulses, also determined by the Chance control, and a green LED shows the output pulse status.

Includes a handy "Gate pass through" mode; when the Length control is set to zero the incoming pulse or trigger will still be determined by the Chance and Delay controls, whilst the outgoing gate length will be the same as the incoming gate length.

Compact 8hp form factor and very low power consumption make this an excellent addition to any Eurorack system.

Key features:

Chance, Gate Delay time and Pulse Length can all be set manually or controlled using external CV voltages.

The 'TRIG' push button allows manual triggering, and Chance will be applied to any manual triggering too.

Fast processing allows operation into the lower audio range, so it can perform sub bass generation on drone type sounds. In this mode the Length pot (or an external Length CV) can be used to change the PWM of the output waveform.

After the initial trigger pulse has been acted on, further incoming pulses are ignored until the current cycle has finished. This useful feature allows it to perform "divide by n" division on gate pulses, so it can be used for clock division, and the delay function can be used to add a "swing" away from the rhythm.

Gate pass through mode - if the Length pot is set to zero, then the incoming gate length is preserved, so in this case the gate has Chance and Delay time applied to it, but the outgoing gate length is the same as the incoming gate length.

By setting Chance to 100% and Delay to zero (0.5mS) it can be used as a Gate to Trigger converter, or a Trigger to Gate converter, depending on the Pulse length set with the LENGTH control. We can also use an external Length CV to shorten or increase the length of the output pulse in real time.

Fast and slow ranges for both DELAY time and PULSE length - Fast range is 0.5mS to 2 Sec and Slow Range is 2 Sec to 30 Sec.

Green status LED shows when the output pulse is high.

Front panel controls

Chance Control and CHA Input

This sets the probability of an incoming trigger or gate being passed through to the Pulse Generator circuit. The chance can be set anywhere between 0% and 100%.

The CHA input allows an external control voltage (CV) to control chance remotely. In this mode the Chance control acts as an attenuator for the incoming CV. With the Chance control fully clockwise a CV of +5V will give 100% chance, and lower CV voltages reduce the Chance accordingly. For example, a +2.5V CV will give a 50% chance. The attenuator function is useful if we are using higher control voltages of for example 0 to +10V. If we set the Chance control to the 12 o'clock position it would then halve the incoming CV signal, so in this case +10V will give 100% chance and +5V will give a 50% chance. Negative CV voltages are ignored and will be treated in the same way as zero volts..

Delay Control and DEL Input

This sets the delay amount that is applied to the leading edge of the incoming Gate or trigger received at the IN jack (or a press of the Manual Trigger button), assuming that the "Chance" has been determined to be positive. With the Delay Time switch set to FAST the Delay range will be from 0.5mS to 2 Seconds. With the Delay Time switch set to SLOW the Delay range will be between 2 Seconds and 30 Seconds.

The DEL input allows an external CV voltage to control Delay Time remotely. In this mode the Delay control acts as an attenuator for the incoming CV. With the Delay control fully clockwise a CV of +5V will give the maximum Delay time of either 2 Seconds or 30 seconds depending on the position of the Fast / Slow switch. Lower CV voltages reduce the Delay Time accordingly, so if we apply a CV of zero volts then we will get the minimum Delay time. The attenuator works on any CV patched to the DEL input in the same manner as described for the Chance control.

Length Control and LEN Input

This sets the length, or rather pulse width of the output pulse. With the LENGTH Switch set to FAST the pulse length can be anywhere between 0.5 mS to 2 Seconds. With the LENGTH Switch set to SLOW the pulse length can be between 2 seconds and 30 Seconds.

The LEN input allows an external CV to control Delay Time remotely. In this mode the Length control acts as an attenuator for the incoming CV in the same manner as the Chance and Delay controls.

Setting the Length control to zero invokes "Gate pass through" mode - in this case the incoming gate length is preserved, so the incoming pulse or trigger will still be affected by the Chance and Delay controls, but the outgoing gate length will be the same as the incoming gate length. Turning the Length control slightly clockwise will then invoke the minimum pulse length around control position 1, and further clockwise rotation will increase the Pulse Length as expected. This behaviour also applies to external CV's patched to the LEN input, where a CV of 0V will enable Gate pass through mode.

Fast / Slow mode switches

These switches allow the selection of Fast or Slow mode for Delay time and pulse length, so these ranges can be selected independently for Delay and Length. Fast range is 0.5 mS to 2 Seconds, and Slow range is 2 Seconds to 30 Seconds.

TRIG Switch

The TRIG push button allows manual triggering, and Chance will also be applied to any manual triggering, so depending on the setting of the Chance control, pressing the button has a chance of not doing anything! Holding the button down keeps the incoming gate high for as long as the button is pressed, however this is only really relevant in "Gate pass through" mode - normally only the leading edge of the input pulse is used.

IN - input jack

Connect your input here - a gate, output from an LFO, or even waveforms from a VCO. Any negative component of the input voltage will be ignored, so unipolar or bipolar signals can be used.

OUT - output jack

This outputs the binary pulse (or stream of pulses) that are generated by the Chance Delay circuitry. The gate low level is 0V and gate high level is +6V. The green status LED shows if a pulse is currently being generated.

Notes: Drums4 is a 4 voice, sample based percussion sound generator.

Each voice can select its sound from a 48 sample global bank, samples are curated from the manufacturer's collection of percussion sources used in their music.

Each sample can be tuned and has an individual output for independent processing , and there's also a simple mixer that controls levels to the main mixed output.

Operation is simple and intuitive, the selected sample is remembered after power down for each of the 4 voices.

Incoming triggers are displayed on each voice LED indicator.

Notes: Altar is a 3-pole state variable discrete filter.

Its discrete core is a brand new design made of modern discrete transistors. The filter can morph continuously from Bandpass to Lowpass to Highpass via CV.

By changing the input gain the character of the filter can go from very clean and vocal to a more distorted acidic sound.

Notes: Module A-130-2v is composed of two identical voltage controlled amplifiers (VCA). Each VCA has a manual gain control (also named Initial Gain) and a control voltage input with attenuator. The character of the control scale can be switched to linear or exponential. All inputs and outputs are DC coupled. Consequently the VCAs can be used to process both audio and control voltages (e.g. for voltage control of the level of LFO or envelope signals). The signal input has no attenuator available but is capable to process up to 16Vpp signals (i.e. -8V...+8V) without distortion. For the processing of higher levels an external attenuator (e.g. A-183-1) is recommended.

The amplification range is 0...1. Even with a higher external control voltage the amplification remains at 1 (kind of "amplification clipping" at 1).

A-130-2v is the slim version of module A-132-3 and offers essentially the same features. But the distances between the controls are smaller and rubberized small-sized knobs are used. In return the front panel has 4 HP only which is half the width of the A-132-3. The module is primarily planned for applications where only limited space is available.

Notes: MIX7 is a seven channel analogue summing mixer module for Eurorack. It is designed for summing any of the different types of signals you'll find in a modular system: Audio, CV, Triggers, or Gate.

MIX7 gives ability to sweeten your mix with more headroom using the power of low noise analog summing. A compact 3HP Eurorack utility module, MIX7 is an attractive mixing addition to any rig, especially with the ability to also combine rhythms, note patterns or CV automations from different control sources. The main output of one section can be connected to the input of another MIX7 to create larger mixing groups and complex signal routes inside your modular.

The MIX7 summing mixing circuit is built with low-noise operational amplifiers, giving it an excellent sound quality for mixing audio, the beautiful texture of classic analog mixing with plenty of headroom to handle hot modular signals, and the versatility to sum non-audio signals in your system to open up new creative possibilities.

Each input is labeled with a number of dots, 1-7, yellow for input and green for output. The module matches Tiptop's system look with clean white faceplate styling.

At the back of the module is a user-configurable jumper allowing users to configure the MIX7 for either unity gain (OUT = IN) or give increased headroom (OUT = 0.4IN) for use with hot audio signals, which makes it a great pairing for Tiptop Audio percussive modules. A peak indicator light on the front panel warns the user of even the slightest audio clipping in the mix, helping to keep all the incoming sound sources at their full original quality.

Notes: Pont-Neuf is an adapeor module which converts between eurorack jacks (3,5mm / 1/8") jacks and banana plugs, providing a simple link between eurorack and Serge 4U systems. The module provides 8 bidirectional channels, is superslim and passive, i.e. does not require a power connection. It does provide a GND-banana-jack to establish a common ground between the systems.

Notes: The Haible VC Resonator is an evolution of Jurgen Haible's Resonator which was inspired by the Polymoog Resonator. As Jurgen stated: The Polymoog, an early polyphonic synthesizer, featured a 3-band "Resonator" section that allows Formant-Filtering in addition to its dynamic Filters. Such a Resonator is a very useful feature for analogue synthesizers. Each of the three (now overlapping) filter bands has a control for frequency, signal gain, and emphasis (resonance). The VC Resonator now not only adds VC control for each band, but also extends the ranges whithin which each frequency band can be set - adjacent bands can now overlap or even cross over, for instance the LOW and MED bands can now be set (or moved!) so that the LOW center frequency is higher than the MED frequency.

Jurgen's original Resonator (like the Polymoog) had a switch to select one of 3 basic modes, i.e. only one mode could be used at a time. The Haible VC Resonator now provids the same 3 modes as separate outputs so they can be used simultanously, e.g. for further processing like crossfading.

Plectrum is a high quality, fully analogue Eurorack module that can produce plucked string-like sounds. It is a compact all-in-one solution for generating amazing bass, acoustic guitar, percussion and other amazing sounds.

The heartbeat of Mindphaser, focused on audio-rate generation. Drives the WAVESHAPER and TZ-PM bus. This core's frequency range spans the audible spectrum.

- An external hard SYNC IN forcibly resets the core, useful for punchy sequences, percussive basslines and drum synthesis -- or to sync to another VCO.

- Coarse and fine controls conveniently span the audible spectrum. Ranges further with external CV.

Modulator

An extremely wide range oscillator, spanning from deep LFO frequencies all the way up to supersonic sound! Four base waveforms and diverse internal routing options form a versatile palette of modulations for the CARRIER to feed on.

- Activating hard SYNC on the Modulator locks its core to the Carrier's heartbeat. The effect can be dramatic. Try this while phase modulating!

- Octave RANGE switch lets you quickly flick up and down between octaves. All the way beyond audio-rate and LFO speed octaves. Perfect for experimenting with different PM sidebands and taming the wide frequency range of the Modulator.

- Manual PW (Pulse Width) control and dedicated CV input for PWM.

Waveshaper

This isn't a classic waveshaper! Developed anew from the ground up, this waveshaper is focused on deep harmonic experimentation and audio obliteration. Each waveshaper parameter is capable of being "turned up to 11".

FOLD up to 5 octaves above the fundamental Carrier frequency. A ceiling forms at maximum, imparting additional harmonics.

FEEDBACK the waveshaped and phase-modulated audio through a signal path internal to the waveshaper.

AMPLITUDE modulation spans thru-zero, allowing for full-range ring modulation effects with bipolar CV or audio signals.

CLIP the final stage of amplitude with the switch to introduce a last stage of harmonics before the complex signal exits through the final OUT.

Switchable inverting attenuators on each CV input, for quickly inverting the behaviour of your modulation. The indicator illuminates red to tell you the attenuator has been inverted.

Two distinct waveshaping modes

A press of the shape switch toggles Mindphaser between RAMPOID (green) and TRIANGULAR (yellow) waveshaping modes.

These modes have a remarkable effect on the behaviour of wavefolding and overall character of the final complex OUT, in addition to TZ-PM Bus character.

RAMPOID mode folds more asymmetrically, with raucous, buzzing harmonic artefacts as you sweep and introduce TZ-PM

TRIANGULAR mode folds more symmetric, splitting the complex sine wave at its peak centre of the waveform. TZ-PM character is less raucous, and more smooth.

TZ-PM Bus

Thru-zero phase modulation in the ANALOGUE realm! Unlike its digital counterpart, analogue TZ-PM has its own character we've come to expect from analogue circuitry!

Voltage-controlled INDEX behaves like a macro control when combined with various amounts and polarities dialled in at each CV destination.

Internal sends include the Carrier's classic Linear FM, Amplitude, Feedback and TZ-PM Index, with variable amounts and polarities!

Modulator waveforms internally feeding the Mod Bus behave unipolarly, for predictable modulation of every Mod Bus destination, without external patching. By patching in one of the Modulator's bipolar waveform outputs manually (or any external signal), you can override this behaviour.

Intellijel has made the already awesome Thru Zero VCO Rubicon even better! Nebulae is a granular sampler and DSP platform. Its phase vocoder audio engine provides elastic audio, which can be time stretched, granularized, and mangled to no end. Nebulae can use live audio input, a recorded buffer, or audio files as the source material for its powerful audio manipulations. Nebulae lives a double life as an open source DSP platform with an extensive library of off the shelf alternate instruments. Eurorack is a synthesist's toy chest. Stompboxes are a guitarist's toy chest. Each industry offers a seemingly infinite variety of products that enable musicians to build systems unique to their needs and to create a signature sound. Each is also somewhat addictive. Rare is the musician who doesn't eventually need a larger toy chest to house the accumulated toys.

Fortunately for the budget-conscious musician, Eurorack modules and stompboxes have always existed in separate worlds - someone whose Eurorack system consumes an entire wall in their home is usually not the same person whose pedalboard now requires a dedicated roadie just to transport it to the gig.

Intellijel's Stomp removes the barrier between Eurorack and stompbox. It provides the modular synthesist with a portal to stompbox nirvana, and the guitarist with a wormhole to the sonic manipulations of Eurorack modules.

Stomp enables the modular synthesist to interact with the impressive assortment of delays, choruses, flangers, phasers, fuzz boxes, tremolos, wah-wahs, amp simulators, compressors, and pitch shifter pedals available to guitarists. If your effects pedal is adorned with an expression pedal input, Stomp supports that too, and even features a built-in LFO to modulate your pedal's expression input. Need something crazier? No problem. Simply patch any modulation source from your modular system into the expression control jack to override the built-in LFO.

Torus is an overdub looper for harmonic playback. It offers four, 16-step pattern banks for sequencing as well as other sample manipulation techniques. It was designed to bring daw recording workflows (sample reversing, pitch shifting, sequencing, etc.) to eurorack cases.

Inputs:

A, B, C, D - buttons for choosing the current pattern. When combined with chain, these buttons can be used to sequence a pattern chain. Individual chains can be support 16 steps and are kept in sync with torus's global clock.

Chain - button for chaining behaviours. Chain + A, B, C, D can be used to sequence a pattern chain. Chain + record can be used to record multiple patterns in series and then chain playback. Chain + clear can be used to clear all recorded patterns. Chain + tap can be used to reset the current pattern when it contains recordings.

Mix - knob and CV used to blend between the input signal and the recorded pattern.

Record - button and gate in for turning on and off recording. When a pattern is not recorded, record will turn on and in sync with the clock. When a pattern is recorded, record will immediately turn on and off overdubbing.

Oct - buttons for octave shifting pattern buffer playback. Oct buttons can be used to clock divide/multiply an input clock signal.

Reverse - button and gate in for reversing buffer playback.

Harm - knob and CV for choosing harmonic pattern playback speeds. Playback speeds include both integer clock multipliers and perfect intervals.

Tap - button for tapping in tempos for the internal clock. Tap will repeat the current note when the current pattern contains recordings. Combine with chain to reset the entire pattern when the current pattern contains recordings.

Clear - button and gate in for clearing the current pattern. Combine with chain to clear all recorded patterns.

Clock - gate in for clock syncing

In L and in R - audio input, left will be converted to stereo if there is no right input.

Harm out - gate output mapping to harmonic playback resets. This gate output will range from 1-16x the clock out frequency depending on the harm knob/CV value.

A-138s is a simple but useful 4-in-2 mixing tool. It has four inputs available. Each input is equipped with an attenuator (Level) and a panning control that is used to distribute the signal to the left and right output. Beyond stereo mixing it is equally suited to create variable parallel routings. For example: Any of the four inputs may be routed in variable intensity to feed two filters.

Erica Synths Modulator is an advanced modulation and pitched noise source with focus on rhythmic (but not limited to) compositions in mind. It features two identical syncable to the BPM LFOs/noise sources with selectable morphing waveshapes. Notes: In recent years, stereo signal paths have increasingly found their way into the wonderful world of Eurorack synthesis - so naturally, utilities should follow suit. Introducing psATT, a simple solution to a problem you might not even realise you had. Far from just useful as an attenuator for audio sources in mixdowns, the psATT can also be used to bring stereo audio signals down to more manageable levels (such as line level), attenuate multiple signals simultaneously (like increasing the modulation depth of two LFO's at the same time! It's like having two hands, but with one hand!) and is even normalled, so if you only have a mono signal, the attenuated signal will be present at both outputs. That's what utility is all about!

There's not much else to say, except that it's passive, and draws no power - and it looks very classy in black and gold; and it's also only 2hp.

Push (or Pulse) the Envelope

Snappy, classically analogue envelopes with visually intuitive controls. Add a powerful, cv controllable cyclical gate generator, integrated VCA, and trigger buttons -then double it-now you've got Tangrams.

Tangrams, like the Dual ADSR before it, is a dual analogue core-envelope inspired by the Roland SH-101 / System 100m design with several enhancements. Taking further inspiration from trapezoidal function generators like the one on the EMS Synthi, Intellijel have added a voltage-controlled pulser circuit to link the triggering of two envelopes - allowing for delayed one-shots, cycling organic envelopes, and more. In addition, Intellijel added two VCAs for level control of each envelope, or alternatively, direct injection of the signal you'd like to envelope - freeing up your other VCAs.

The Pulser

The Pulser can be thought of as a way to set both a gate ON time (T1) and an OFF time (T2). In this way, you could configure a cycling ADSR that has a gate time that is different from the interval between gates. Alternatively, you can create a sequence where ADSR2 is triggered by a delayed amount of time after ADSR1 is triggered (either cyclically or in a single shot sequence). The panel switches for routing or disabling the pulse sources allow for even more complex combinations of control beyond these examples. This special combination of functions can yield a plethora of interesting and organic envelope and gate patterns to be created; cyclical and single shot.

Notes: This long-awaited FM voice module from Jomox is a self-contained synth in Eurorack format, patchable and compatible with other modules but capable of creating eight-voice polyphonic patches all on its own. Vastly powerful.

Supplier's Notes:
The Mod FM is a completely self-contained 8 voice FM synth in eurorack format, which can create powerful sounds out of the box without lacking the commonly provided CV modulation possibilities.

It provides 4 Operators and 2 LFOs/VCOs per voice. Additionally it has 2 analogue filters and analogue VCAs per voice which apply analogue warmth and depth to the Mod FM, although the FM engine is digital of course.

Each voice has own CV/Gate inputs and an individual output. There is a mix output which separates even and odd voices. Here you can mix internal effects like delay and reverb to the stereo output signal.

Next to the CV/Gate control, the Mod FM has Midi in and out in TRS type A format and a USB C connector which handles Midi too.

Even without diving too much into complicated modular setups you can create extremely good sounding and metallic FM sounds, snappy bases but also soft and deep sounding analogue style sounds.

Furthermore, the Mod FM offers a variety of external cv modulations in order to e.g. modulate each operator individually or control the FM envelopes.

The Mod FM is fully multitimbral, i.e. each voice can play an own sound in Multi Mode which gets stored as a complete multi set (not only vectorized). That is, you can copy a single sound to the desired multi, but editings made on that particular multi get stored along with the multi set.

Hence, we have the biggest advantage of the hybrid approach:

Modular is great but can be very complex, and you might be trapped in a system where you never reach again the desired sound of the latest session. Storability certainly helps.

The different sections in more detail:

Matrix FM:

4 operators are arranged in a matrix, in which every operator (= sine oscillator) can be modulated by each one of the other three.

The 16 endless potentiometers of the matrix adjust the modulation amount (FM amt) and the base frequency of the operators.

For each operator you can change the base frequency by the diagonal knobs.

There are several overtone modes that determine if one operator is controlled by the keynote (or CV) = base operator, or if it's locked in as overtone (= overtone operator) to the assigned base operator. For the base operator, the number resembles xxx semitones added to the keynote.

For the overtone operator, the adjusted number is the xxx = Nth overtone or harmonics to the base operator frequency.

The locked overtone operator tracks the base operator and is still able to modulate and being modulated.

Each operator has an ADSR envelope. This envelope can also be used to frequency-modulate the operator.

Algorithm:

The algorithms from the known FM synthesis are actually special cases to the whole matrix.

Because it gets pretty quickly uncontrollable if you turn all the knobs because of the feedbacks, Jomox have decided to implement the algorithms. There are 26 algorithms, that are derived from the DX9 with its 4 operators.

At this menu it's even possible to change the frequency mode of each operator to a fixed frequency that is edited in single Hz and which does not follow the keynote, but only modulation. That makes sense for e.g. percussive sounds.

LFO/VCO:

Each voice has 2 LFOs which can modulate either the frequency (FM) or the amplitude (AM) of an operator. Every LFO addresses 64 different wave forms that are displayed in the right OLED display.

There is another feature: each LFO can be switched into a VCO that covers the whole audio range. You can even mix it into the signal chain and it tracks to the keynote. The former LFO rate parameter turns into a detune parameter. That is, you can create classic sounding rectangle/sawtooth analogue basses or string pads - and much more of course.

Filter:

Each voice contains an analogue filter which is build up with the chip SSI2140 from Sound Semiconductor, which is an improved modern version of the old SSM2040, designed by Dave Rossum, and which had been used in Oberheim synths and the early SCI Prophet-5.

The filter has a classic 24dB output and a 12dB state-variable multimode-filter. The three basic characteristic outputs LP/BP/HP can be cross-faded continuously with one parameter called shape.

Both filter outputs 24dB/12dB can be mixed independently.

The ADSR for the filter is fast and cuts in very quick and directly, the resonance is well adjustable.

The filter section contains an own LFO for the cutoff which is independent from the digital sound engine and has also 64 waveforms.

The VCA is a fast transistor-VCA which is important for snappy sounds. The same transistor-VCA is used in all Jomox drum products. Therefore the ModFM can be used as a rich source for technoid drums and percussions of any kind.

Notes: The DIODEFILTER is an adaption of the well-known diode ladder filter that became most popular by Roland's TB-303 bassline. And here it is for the AE modular!

Notes: DRONX is a special mixer designed especially for the DRONE38 module; if has 6 input channels (so you can connect two DRONE38 modules) and offers some sound processing capabilities: A tone control with bass and treble control, a distortion, and finally a dual delay with different algorithms. Two insert points allow to add up to two more audio effects to the internal signal chain. Together with the DRONE38 module(s) you get a quite nice drone synth for dense, dark soundscapes.

Of course, it can be used with any other sound sources!

Notes: The module was named Kuzmin Filter in the past as a tribute to the developer of the Polivoks, Vladimir Kuzmin. For certain reasons, the module will now be called GRUNGE Filter (due to the sound), with the circuitry remaining unchanged.

The Polivoks was a Russian synth that was produced between 1982 and 1990.This module is the AE version of the filter that gave the Polivoks a unique, rough sound.

Beyond the basic design, this filter offers some additional features:

Two different resonance characteristics, hard and soft
An FM function, that adds the input signal to the modulation of the filter
An optional overdrive for the output, making the sound even more rough and untamed.

Notes: Unique, vintage reverb sound.

The SPRINGREVERB module brings the unique sound of this quite old (introduced in the 60's) technique for creating reverbs to the AE modular.

The reverb works by sending the audio signal to a set of 3 springs; at the other end of the springs the sound is picked up by a transducer, converting the mechanical movement of the springs back into an electrical signal. When the audio signal arrives at the end of the springs, the waves are reflected several times; these reflections create the reverb sound.

The spring "tank" (a metal box containing the springs and transducers, size approx. 24 x 9 x 3.5 cm) is connected externally by a cable.

The product contains all components: The module itself, the spring tank and the connection cable.

Note: The sound of a spring reverb is quite unique and has a strong vintage character; if you are looking for a more "clean", natural sounding reverb please take a look at the MULTIFX module.

Notes: With the STOMP-IO module, you can integrate guitar effect pedals and similar devices into your AE modular system! For output (send) and input (return) return there is a mono minijack socket; two minijack to 1/4" socket adapters are included as effect pedals usually work with the latter ones. Send and return levels can be controlled with separate knobs.

Notes: XMIX is a swiss knife for signal mixing and attenuating, offering four(!) mixers and two attenuators in a 1U module. It is designed especially with very small AE systems in mind.

Notes: The Cali oscillator is a new and improved version of the classic Buchla 258 wave shaping oscillator with an additional pulse width modulated output. The oscillator features the classic Sine to Square and Sine to Saw wave shaping with dedicated CV control. The Cali Oscillator differs from previous versions of the 258 in that it has a 3-way position switch rather than 2-way. This new middle position features a bonus waveform that will shape from a pulse into a kind of triangular trapezoid shape. The shaping control is more unpredictable in this middle position and the switch reacts to body contact when the wave shape is set low - it can be thought of as an extra bonus waveform, great for producing glitchy sounds! There are dedicated inputs for linear and exponential FM and the Cali also adds a Pulse output with it's own width control and PWM CV input. The behaviour of the pulse output can be affected by the position of the waveform switch and wave shape control. The module features Coarse and Fine frequency controls and an LFO mode, LFO range is accessed via an LED pushbutton that also acts as the LFO speed indicator - the button will light up when the waveform moves through its positive cycle. Because the wave shape modulation is independent of pitch this oscillator is very useful for creating complex timbres whilst retaining musical pitch.
