Electro Harmonix Mainframe Bit Crusher Effects Pedal
Cat: 793996 Rel: 12 Oct 20

Bit crusher pedal
Notes: Clever take on bit crushing, sample rate reduction and all-round lo-fi goodness. Crunchy retro digital sounds with a neat option to tune the sample rate to the key of your song.

Supplier's Notes:
Buzz. Beep and bloop. Electro Harmonix are high on the lo-fi sounds of "old-school" games, toys and terminals and the Mainframe Bit Crusher takes us back in time to when Pac Man and Donkey Kong ruled the arcades, to when the Commodore 64 was high tech.

It provides sample rate reduction ranging from 48kHz to 110Hz. A little background- the sample rate is the number of times per second that a sample or snapshot of an analog signal is taken. For example, CDs (remember them?) had a sample rate of 44.1kHz which means that the original analog signal is sampled 44,100 times per second.

Fulltone Full-Drive 3	Overdrive With Boost Pedal
Cat: 782842 Rel: 23 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: Unlike its cousin the FD2, the FD3 uses both a JFET input and a JFET op-amp, giving it the most tube-like sound you can get out of a tubeless pedal. Along with great sound, these JFET's give the FD3 an ultra-high Input impedance which allows the pedal to mate with any type/gain of pickup and react well to changes in your guitar's volume control.

3-way CLIPPING toggle switch:
Set to 90's and you'll get symmetrical clipping with ample midrange.
Set the switch to WIDE ASYM (wide asymmetrical) and more sweet highs and lows come through, along with chimey, Class-A style even harmonic overtones.
set to COMP-CUT mode, pure opamp-overdrive, with no diode clipping assistance. Aggressive, cutting, and capable of a huge volume boost to slam the input of your amp.

Discrete Channels:
Unlike the FD2, the FD3 has completely independent OVERDRIVE and BOOST channels, and the ORDER toggle switch allows placing the BOOST channel before or after the OVERDRIVE channel. The BOOST channel is also an extremely transparent, high-headroom 100% JFET-powered circuit.

Buffered Bypass:
Serial# 2548 and higher FD3 pedals are now Buffered-Bypass instead of True-Bypass, so the FD3 will always drive long cables, be isolated from other effects, and always retain the highs and feel of your amplifier whether the pedal is turned ON or OFF. Do not confuse the hi-quality JFET op-amp buffer in the FD3 with the simple single transistor buffers on other pedals. The FD3's buffer sounds rich and fat, not thin.

DYNAMICS knob:
A Fulltone-exclusive Germanium diode Limiter circuit circuit that alters the feel of the notes being played as well as subdues transient spikes which can overload your amp's input. This feature can make even a stiff amp feel responsive and juicy, and sweeten the treble frequencies.

The Icing on the cake? The housing is about 20% smaller than the traditional FD2.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Input impedance: 1.1 mega-ohms. Output Impedance: 180 ohms.
Dimensions: 5.17"W x 4.26"D x 2.36" H. Weight: 1lb 7oz.
Power Consumption: maximum 13 ma with both channels on

Fulltone Secret Freq Dynamic Asymmetrical Clipping Overdrive/Distortion Pedal
Cat: 782869 Rel: 13 Oct 20

Overdrive/distortion pedal
Notes: Not just 'another' distortion pedal. Classic natural, dynamic overdrive and heavier rock distortion, but with a unique narrow-band midrange boost for sweet sustain and bite.

Supplier's Notes:
What's this, another touch-sensitive, dynamic, natural sounding overdrive/distortion to confuse the marketplace?

Nope, this is the Fulltone Secret Frequency. Secret Freq. for short. Although it does the gig-friendly clean boost and OD thing as good as any, it goes well past that when asked to, right into Rock territory while retaining a natural sound.

Dynamic asymmetrical clipping gives the Secret Freq. a sweet, musical clean boost, juicy overdrive, and rich, touch responsive high gain sounds. Not like the PlimSoul, nothing like the OCD, and not like any other pedal, but worth the price of admission were you to use it simply as is for your bread and butter OD/Distortion pedal.

But the 'Freq has WAY more tricks in its bag than your average transparent OD/Distortion... it just may knock a handful of OD/Distortions right off your 'board and straight on to Ebay thanks to another innocent looking knob labeled Freq.

What's this "Freq." knob?

Turn it Clockwise and my proprietary circuit adds as much as 20db of active narrow band juicy MIDRANGE right where it does the most good, it's like installing a wah-wah right where the distortion is being generated. But unlike turning on your wah-wah along with a distortion pedal, with the 'Freq. the bass and treble frequencies don't disappear... Very unique, and not to be confused with a simple active or passive midrange control tacked on to the end of the circuit, as is the case with all other pedals you've tried with a Mid control. Adding the 'Freq's midrange imparts WAY more sustain and lets you easily place the guitar in the mix where you want it, irrespective of volume... soundman's not going to bury you anymore.

What's it sound like?

Along with a slew of basic great OD/Distortion pedal sounds, it allows you to replicate a very, very wide range of your favorite guitar & amp sounds. Remember that when the 'Freq. knob is fully-counter-clockwise the Midrange enhancement effect is OUT of the picture and the pedal is a truly versatile and natural sounding pretty transparent OD/Distortion! At low to mid overdrive settings, turning the 'Freq knob up a little gets hammer-of-the-Gods penetrating PUNCH!

At more extreme (clockwise) Freq settings?

Brings a smile to your face an evokes the coolest Jimmy Page, Brian May, Michael Schenker, Robin Trower, Tom Scholz tones that you just couldn't previously get without a bunch of studio EQ, just the right setting on a great wah-wah, or a slew of British amps.

J Rockett GTO Guthrie Trapp Signature Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 783210 Rel: 30 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: The new GTO is the latest design coop with Guthrie Trapp. The original was sort of the Nashville favorite, recreating the old Nobels ODR-1. A great sound in itself but Guthrie wanted more.

The new GTO has a much tighter bottom, less gain and more cut in the mix. It can go from super mild to a really nice, dynamic OD feel. This pedal has compression but in a great way. You can use it as a clean boost and EQ or you can bring in the dirt.

Level: Interactively controls the overall output. The more gain, the louder it will become so you have to use the two in conjunction

Gain: Controls the gain level but also creates compression and feel. It blends with the clean signal so you can really find interesting sounds

Accent: Controls the cut through the mix, the top end and the bite

Warmth : Controls the bottom end but is also very interactive with the Accent control. You can really fatten up the mids but use the accent to keep it from getting woofy.

J Rockett Lenny Dumble Steel String Singer Boost & Tone Effects Pedal
Notes: Lenny was a happy accident. J Rockett inteded to design a recreation of the legendary Dumble Steel String Singer but thought...who needs a loud, clean amp sound in a pedal? The guy that made the Steel String Singer come alive was none other than SRV. With that said, Lenny was born! J Rockett have created a Steel String Singer being pushed to create color, texture and feel versus just loud and clean. Simply put, this is a very musical boost that colors your tone considerably, in an inspiring way...kind of like a Neve console. There is a definite mid character, but boy does it cut through a mix!

Boost - Tons of push, which creates an inter-play with the front end of any amp

Tone - Dials in your highs, simply put

The two controls are interactive and really need each other when slamming an amp. Lenny also takes advantage of the new "Speed Switch" system

Maxon Compact Series AD-10 Analogue Delay Ten Series Pedal
Cat: 783247 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Analogue delay pedal
Notes: The AD10 takes Maxon's 30+ years of experience in analog delay design and offers it up in one compact, WYSIWYG pedal.

The AD10 delivers up to 600 milliseconds of gorgeous, organic delay that doesn't get in the way of your original guitar tone. Delay repeats are tuned to perfection with a subtle yet distinct distortion and none of the high-frequency whistle associated with over-clocking of the delay circuit.

The AD10's minimalist control interface makes it incredibly easy to dial in a variety of usable delay effects including double-tracking, faux reverb, tight rhythm slapbacks, and longer delays for solos.

The AD10 retains its distinctive sound even when stacked with overdrives and distortions. It works equally well in the front end or the FX loop of an amp and excels at the runaway feedback self-oscillation that everyone now expects from an analog delay.

Maxon CS-9 Stereo Chorus Pro Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783314 Rel: 25 Sep 20

Chorus pedal
Notes: With a circuit based around the Panasonic MN3207 Bucket Brigade IC, the CS-9 Pro's chorus effect is bold and resonant without sounding harsh. Unlike the somewhat sterile sounds of its 80's predecessor, the CS-9 Pro has an edgy, almost grainy quality that keeps your tone articulate and prevents wash-out.

The CS-9 Pro's custom-tuned oscillator circuit provides enough speed for authentic rotary speaker simulation, and just the right amount of modulation for a lush vibrato that won't leave you feeling queasy.

With its Delay Time control the CS-9 Pro can venture into Flanger territory, adding a resonant, hollow quality to the effect that's great for solos.

A top-mounted Blend control allows you to adjust the level of the Chorus effect to set it back in the mix against your dry signal.

A unique feature of the CS-9 Pro is its ability to create spatial effects that add dimension to your guitar tone without the traditional Chorus wobble. With Speed and Depth set low and the Delay Time at max, the Pro thickens your sound much in the manner of a double-tracked guitar, adding girth and life without excessive modulation.

The CS-9 Pro features stereo outputs for mono, stereo, or inverted mono signal routing.

The CS-9 Pro is essentially the same as Maxon's CS550, but in a smaller chassis and with battery or AC power options.

TECH TALK:
The CS-9 Pro circuit is similar to the Arion SCH-1 Stereo Chorus, or an updated Boss Chorus Ensemble. A high-impedance input buffer passes next into a Compander stage that acts as a compressor/expander, bringing the input level of the signal up to an ideal output level and keeping it there as the signal decays - this provides a good signal-to-noise ratio and gives the chorusing section a nice, steady signal to modulate.

The Chorus effect is produced by a Panasonic MN3102 low-voltage clock driver IC and a Panasonic MN3207 BBD IC which is controlled by the MN3102. Though the 3207/3201 combo has less delay range than other BBD's of this type, the difference is negligible and the inherent decay of signal quality adds "vintage lo-fi warmth" to the signal.

After the Chorus section, the signal hits another Compander to level everything out and is then fed to an output buffer.

At the end of the circuit the signal is phase-split and sent to the two low-impedance stereo outputs - Output A is in-phase and Output B is phase inverted (90 degrees out of phase).

The CS-9 Pro features Mechanical True Bypass switching on both outputs via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch.

Input Impedance: 500K Ohms

Input Jack: 1/4 inch standard phone jack

Output Impedance: 10K Ohms or less

Output Jack: 1/4 inch standard phone jack

Outputs: 2 (Out, Inv. Out)

Controls: Speed, Width, Delay Time, Blend

Switch: Normal/Effect (true bypass configuration w/4PDT switch)

Maxon DB-10 Dual Booster Ten Series Pedal
Cat: 783269 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Booster pedal
Notes: A unique concept in booster design, the DB10 features two completely independent boost circuits in a single compact housing.

The Clean (Left) channel offers up to +20 dB of clean boost with a completely flat frequency response.

The Vintage (Right) channel is Maxon's take on the classic Treble Booster circuit. It offers up to +20 dB of boost, but with a subtle high-frequency roll-off that increases as the Level is turned towards maximum.

Each circuit has its own input and output jacks, allowing them to be cascaded into one another in any order. Place an overdrive or distortion in-between the channels for additional tonal options - super-saturated overdrive that can then be level-boosted for solos, etc.

One of the many great features of the DB10 is the proximity of the bypass switches to one another, allowing the user to hit both switches simultaneously.

Independent status LED's indicate which channel is engaged and both channels feature True Bypass Switching using a 3PDT switch. Battery or DC (9-18 V) power options.

Compare to "booster" pedals out there such as Suhr Koko Boost, Exotic Rc Booster, Ac Booster, Ep Booster, Pigtronics Class A boost, Fulltone Fat Boost, Tc Boost etc...

Maxon FA-10 Fuzz Elements Air Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783271 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: The FA10 Fuzz Elements Air accurately recreates the distinctive square wave clipping and octave harmonics of one of history's most desirable dirt boxes, the Super Fuzz.

The original Super Fuzz was created by Shin-Ei, but saw later incarnations under brands such as Apollo, Shaftesbury, JAX, Tiesco, Memphis, and most famously, Univox.

It was used on countless recordings in the late 60's & 70's, most notably the Who classic Live at Leeds. Long out of production, the Super Fuzz saw resurgence in the 90's during the Grunge & Alternative Rock era, appearing on the Beastie Boys' Gratitude, Mudhoney's Big Muff Super Fuzz album and Monster Magnet's stoner-rock classic, Superjudge.

The Super Fuzz used dual germanium diodes and a unique full-wave rectification circuit to produce sizzling upper octave harmonics as well as subtle lower harmonics that filled out the guitar sound.

The FA10's analog circuitry nails the Super Fuzz's crushing, compressed tone with surgical precision, and includes the two position Tone switch to toggle between flat and scooped EQ curves. These settings produce wildly different sounds, offering stark contrast to one another and effectively making the FA10 two pedals in one.

A unique aspect of the FA10 is its ability to reproduce rhythm or lead lines with equal clarity, yet without changing settings on the pedal.

Featuring authentic Vintage tones and modern features, the Fuzz Elements Air is the perfect vehicle to make your playing soar.

TECH TALK:
The FA10 features mechanical true bypass switching, Effect LED Indicator, and 9-Volt DC Battery or external adaptor operation.

Maxon FEA-10 Fuzz Elements Earth Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783281 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: David Gilmour's go-to dirt box, the EH Ram's Head Big Muff helped to define classic rock guitar tone in the 1970's.

The FEA10 Fuzz Elements Earth captures all the grit, grind & girth of that fuzzy fiend in a pedalboard-friendly format that's a fraction of the cost of an original Ram's Head.

Aptly named, Earth is simply massive sounding, with a fat, tight bottom; harmonically rich yet warm top-end; and the subtle yet sublime "sag" that allows notes to smoothly blossom into rapturous, singing sustain.

Like an original Ram's Head, there's simply not a bad sound to be found in this pedal at any control setting - there are merely variations of awesome.

The FEA10's tone was "modeled" on a handful of the best-sounding Ram's Heads from a variety of studios & vintage guitar shops around Tokyo. It could take you years and cost you thousands to seek out vintage units with this level of sound quality and consistency.

Maxon has done the leg work, now all you need to do is plug into Earth and rock!

Maxon FF-10 Fuzz Elements Fire Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783302 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: The AF100 Bee Baa was Roland's answer to the gnarly, nasty guitar boxes coming out of the USA & the UK in the late 60's and early 70's.

A combination of transistor Fuzz, Octavia, and Treble Booster, the Bee Baa's massive metal housing & triple stomp switches provided ample evidence that this pedal was not to be trifled with.

Even Maxon was hard-pressed to reproduce the AF100's might in their compact chassis format. Opting to stick with the Fuzz aspects of the Bee Baa, they decided to leave out the Treble Boost section of the circuit when developing this next Fuzz Elements model.

The FF10 Fire produces two distinctly different yet equally aggressive fuzz tones based on the AF100's signature sounds.

In normal mode, the FF10's three controls can dial in thick & muscular transistor tones akin to a great-sounding Big Muff, but with improved midrange response and superior note clarity & clean-up.

Activating the Notch switch scoops mids & accentuates the upper octave harmonics dramatically, creating sizzling, searing sustained tones that are perfect for lead work.

As on the original AF100, Maxon kept the Notch setting foot switchable, allowing the user to toggle between these two titanic tones in mid-song.

Smaller & less expensive, but just as effective as the original it was inspired by: Fuzz Elements Fire brings the heat.

Maxon FV-10 Fuzz Elements Void Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783304 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Strangled squeals, cacophonous chords, raucous ring modulations and other amazingly unpredictable mayhem - that's just a sample of what you can expect from the Fuzz Elements FV10 Void.

Designed to emulate the otherworldly sounds of the vintage Ampeg Scrambler, the FV10 circuit is loaded with tons of even-order harmonics to create unique octave/fuzz sounds that are dynamic- and frequency-dependent. This means that the FV10's effect is generated not only by which notes you play, but how you play them!

The FV10's effect is not for the faint of heart - Spongy, strangely synthetic guitar tones that swell up out of the depths of some black Void and then sizzle off into infinity. Octave-up OR octave-down effects can be produced, depending on the position of the controls and the playing position on the neck. Likewise, single notes or chords can both be played, each generating their own unique sounds.

By chaining the FV10 with other distortion devices and adjusting the Blend knob, an entire new range of unique fuzz/distortion effects can be achieved as the FV10's circuit interacts with the complex harmonic content of the other device.

Unlike the original Scrambler, the FV10 features a Level control with a significant volume boost. This allows the user to match the pedal's output level to unity gain or to other effect pedals in their signal chain.

Mechanical True Bypass switching makes certain that all this chaos is kept locked up until you decide to unleash it.

Maxon FW-10 Fuzz Elements Wind Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783306 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Manufactured under a myriad of brands, this circuit can be found in the Vox Tonebender Professional MKII, Marshall Supa Fuzz, RotoSound Fuzz Box and the rare Rangemaster Fuzzbug. Yet whatever the name, everyone can agree on one thing - this was the guitar sound of early classic rock.

Perfect for replicating the timeless tones of Beck, Page, & Clapton, the FW10 Fuzz Elements Wind captures all the magic of the original Mk II Tonebender and adds a little modern mojo of its own.

Wind offers an edgy, aggressive tone with plenty of midrange sizzle, yet it cleans up beautifully with your volume knob and offers excellent note definition even with complex chords.

Maxon also added two tweaks to this classic circuit to make it more versatile. First; a Vintage/Hot switch that selects between the Gain level of the original and a higher Gain setting. Vintage serves up 100% Tonebender, while Hot offers more sustain for solos or to drive you amp over the edge.

Wind also features a selectable input buffer that works to provide a more accurate, uncolored recreation of the guitar input signal. In short: It's your sound, just dirtier.

The original Sola Sound Tonebender was used by some the greatest guitar players of the 60s and 70s.

If you're looking to worship at the altar of rock's holy trinity, Fuzz Elements Wind will be your guide.

Maxon FWA-10 Fuzz Elements Water Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783307 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Reproducing the sounds of the EH Big Muff has become a cottage industry within this cottage industry of effect building. Yet with dozens of circuit variations and wildly inconstant component selections, it's virtually impossible to cite any one particular Big Muff incarnation as the most desirable version to pay homage to.

The FWA10 Water narrows the playing field by taking the authentic Ram's Head replication of the Fuzz Elements Earth and adding a parametric EQ circuit to the mix.

Water's powerful parametric equalizer covers a massive frequency range from a punchy 100 Hz to ear-splitting 5 kHz. Select a frequency and then boost or cut to tweak your tone with pinpoint accuracy.

By manipulating Water's EQ, the user can dial in the entire palette of Big Muff variations, from the more mid-heavy, musical snarl of the original Triangle-Knob Muff to the harmonically-rich sustain of the Ram's Head all the way through to the super-compressed, scooped-mid mayhem of the Green Russian Sovtek's.

The FWA10 Water: Why settle for one Muff, when you can have them all?

Maxon OD-9 PRO+ Overdrive Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783326 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: In 9-volt setting the Pro+ sounds and functions like the standard OD-9 with the added option of a healthy +3 dB of midrange boost at approximately 800 Hz (actual frequency is dependent on Control settings) - great for cutting through a band during solos.

When set to 18-volts the OD-9 Pro+ becomes an 800-pound Gorilla, offering up beefier lows, tighter saturation, improved dynamics and a chunky, aggressive pick attack that will make your amp sound and feel like it just took a Viagra. Switch on the Mid Boost in this mode and let your solos breathe fire.

Don't just play like the pros - play with the Pro Plus.

The Nine Series Overdrive Pro+ takes Maxon's classic OD-9 circuit and serves it up with two side orders of Whoop-Ass in the form of 9/18 volt operation and a Mid Boost switch.

TECH TALK:

The OD-9 Pro+ starts with a jFET buffer which simultaneously offers high input impedance and low impedance into the rest of the pedal - this helps to preserve high-end clarity in the signal.

The first tone stage is the Mid Boost feature: A switchable Op Amp with clipping diodes in the feedback loop. When this stage is not in the signal path the pedal behaves like a standard OD9. With this stage in the path it adds subtle gain and definition to the sound, similar to a cascading gain stage.

From here it's on to the standard OD-9 circuitry: A clipping Op Amp with diodes in the feedback loop that clip the signal gradually as well as a high pass filter that keep the low frequencies from being distorted as much as high. Next there comes a passive LP filter and then an active tone stage. After the tone stage it's through the Volume pot, an Op Amp boost stage which bumps the signal 3X and then sends it to the output.

The Pro+ also utilizes an NJM2374A voltage conversion chip that changes the 9V power input into 9V+ and 9V-, increasing the headroom of the Op Amps (9V to 18V swing) and giving a bigger, chunkier sound to the overdrive.

The OD-9 Pro+ features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch - Input is switched to ground when bypassed.

NOTE ON POWERING THE OD-9 Pro+ - this pedal's voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible

If it is not possible to connect to a high current jack, you can power the OD-9 Pro+ by leaving a battery in the pedal. Upon initial start-up, unplug the external DC power input cable, engage the pedal, and then plug the DC power input cable back in - the pedal will now power up normally off the external power supply until you power down your pedalboard.

Maxon OOD-9 Organic Overdrive Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783327 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Oerdrive pedal
Notes: Offering the same warm, open-sounding overdrive as the OSD-9 but with a more pronounced high-frequency response, the OOD-9 is perfect for "livening up" a dark-sounding guitar or amp.

The OOD-9 reacts smoothly to input level changes, offering a highly interactive response to player dynamics. Perfect as a stand-alone dirt box or for pushing an amp, the OOD-9 can also be stacked with other OD's to add clarity and character to their tone.

The OOD-9 offers up all these classic sounds in Maxon's indestructible, industry standard 9-Series chassis. Modern-day utility features such as mechanical true bypass switching and a voltage regulator have also been added to provide smooth, consistent performance.

Providing mild, transparent overdrive that doesn't step all over your original tone, the OOD-9 Organic Overdrive truly lives up to its name.

The OOD-9 takes Maxon's resurrected OSD-9 circuit and replaces the NOS 741 Op Amps with current-production NJM (JRC) 4558's.

TECH TALK:
The OOD-9 signal path starts with a 2SK246 jFET buffer which provides a high input impedance and low output impedance into the 1st Op Amp - a NJM (JRC) 4558. This 1st Op Amp is set up to provide a 20 to 120x gain in signal.

After the 1st Op Amp we have a pair of diodes to ground, just like classic boxes such as the MXR Distortion+, Pro Co Rat and Boss DS-1. From here it's into another NJM4558 with an amplification factor of 10 to boost the signal back to a high enough level to drive the input of an amplifier if necessary - a feature that the Dist+ and DS-1 do not offer.

From here the signal is routed to a 4558 Op Amp unity gain amplifier, a volume control voltage divider, and then another unity gain 4558 to provide a low impedance output.

The OOD-9 uses a NJM2374A Voltage converter to stabilize the operating voltage at 9 VDC regardless of the voltage level coming off the battery, providing a smoother, more consistent operation and tonality.

The OOD-9 features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch - the input of circuit is switched to ground when bypassed.

NOTE ON POWERING THE OOD-9 - this pedal's voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible.

If it is not possible to connect to a high current jack, you can power the OOD-9 by leaving a battery in the pedal. Upon initial start-up, unplug the external DC power input cable, engage the pedal, and then plug the DC power input cable back in - the pedal will now power up normally off the external power supply until you power down your pedalboard.

Input Impedance: 500K Ohms

Output Impedance: 10K Ohms or less

Maximum Gain: 41.5dB (700Hz)

Equivalent Input Noise: -107dB or less (IHF-A)

Control: DRIVE, LEVEL

Operating Voltage: 9V

Power Consumption: 18mA/DC 9V, 18mA/DC 10V

Dimensions: 74 (W) x 124 (D) x 54 (H) mm

Maxon OSD-9 OD Soft Distortion Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783330 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Distortion pedal
Notes: In 1977 Maxon released their first effect pedal - the OD880 Overdrive/Soft Distortion - and the world would never be the same.

Employing a passive distortion circuit based around the 741 Op Amp (also used in the popular DOD 250), the OD880 was coveted for its warm and natural overdrive tone. The 880 was perfect for use as a transparent booster to take a tube-amp over the edge, offering singing blues tones unrivaled by other boxes.

Japanese guitar legend Char made the OD880 famous as his booster-of-choice, causing original versions to skyrocket into the $600 range on the vintage market.

In the early 90's Maxon reissued a limited edition run of the OD880. Yet with no distribution outside of Japan, this model went largely unnoticed by the rest of the world, leaving its amazing tone a secret to all save the discerning collector.

Now Maxon has once again resurrected the OD880 in the form of the OSD-9 Overdrive/Soft Distortion.

The OSD-9 offers a warm, open-sounding overdrive with a mild high-end roll off. It reacts smoothly to input level changes, offering a highly interactive response to player dynamics. Perfect as a stand-alone dirt box or for pushing an amp, the OSD-9 can also be stacked with other OD's to add clarity and character to their tone.

The OSD offers up all these classic sounds in Maxon's indestructible, industry standard 9-Series chassis. Modern-day utility features such as mechanical true bypass switching and a voltage regulator have also been added to provide smooth, consistent performance.

Over 30 years after the original OD880 was released, the OSD-9 promises to bestow the legendary tones of its predecessor upon a new generation of discerning players - are you ready?

TECH TALK:
The OSD-9 signal path starts with a 2SK246 jFET buffer which provides high input impedance and low output impedance into the 1st Op Amp - a UA741CP. The UA741CP is a vintage style 741 single Op Amp with superior resistance to latching up (distorting in a non-musical way) - it is not as "precise" as modern IC's, giving it a more vintage, warmer, "analog-ish" response.

This 1st Op Amp is set up to provide a 20 to 120x gain in signal.

After the 1st Op Amp we have a pair of diodes to ground, just like classic boxes such as the MXR Distortion+, Pro Co Rat and Boss DS-1. From here it's into another UA741CP with an amplification factor of 10 to boost the signal back to a high enough level to drive the input of an amplifier if necessary - a feature that the Distortion+ and DS-1 do not offer.

From here the signal is routed to a 4558 Op Amp unity gain amplifier, a volume control voltage divider, and then another unity gain 4558 to provide a low impedance output.

The OSD-9 uses a NJM2374A Voltage converter to stabilize the operating voltage at 9 VDC regardless of the voltage level coming off the battery, providing a smoother, more consistent operation and tonality.

The OSD-9 features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch - the input of circuit is switched to ground when bypassed.

NOTE ON POWERING THE OSD-9 - this pedal's voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible.

If it is not possible to connect to a high current jack, you can power the OSD-9 by leaving a battery in the pedal. Upon initial start-up, unplug the external DC power input cable, engage the pedal, and then plug the DC power input cable back in - the pedal will now power up normally off the external power supply until you power down your pedalboard.

Maxon SM-9 PRO+	Super Metal Distortion Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783351 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Distortion pedal
Notes: Over the past 10 years Maxon effects have become key ingredients in the guitar rigs of countless metal bands. Notable artists such as Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall and All That Remains have come to rely on Maxon overdrives for their brutal guitar tones on stage and in the studio.

The irony here (pun intended) is that Maxon has never offered a pedal tailored to the needs of the metal guitarist - until now.

Introducing the Maxon SM-9 Pro+ Super Metal - specifically designed for high-gain distortion tones, the SM-9's flexible saturation circuit can churn out everything from classic NWOBHM crunch through to the throaty chunk of today's drop-tuned metal extremes.

Developing such a pedal was no easy task, and the Pro+ was on the drawing board for years before Maxon felt it was ready for release. Several unique "tricks" were incorporated into its design to create a pedal that is as versatile as it is merciless.

Forgoing the use of conventional tone controls, the SM-9 instead features Scoop and Edge knobs to dial in the riffage.

The Scoop control is a mid-band elimination filter with a range from 200 Hz - 2 KHz. This control adjusts the frequency range where the pedal's midrange cut is centered.

Once the amount of mid scoop is determined, any high-end loss can be dialed back in using the Edge control - a Hi-cut shelving filter continuously variable between 2-15 kHz.

These two controls are highly interactive and work much like a parametric equalizer - Adjusting both knobs simultaneously allows the user to find the perfect mix of brutality and clarity.

The SM-9's Gain control adjusts the degree of saturation the pedal provides. This control is actually a dual-ganged pot that increases the amount of distortion while simultaneously boosting the upper midrange band up to 20 dB at 1 kHz.

By boosting and cutting specific frequency bands in relation to Gain, the SM-9's controls allow the user to sculpt brutal, beefy guitar tones that retain note clarity and definition.

The Pro+ also offers switchable 9- or 18-volt operation. In Classic mode, the SM-9 runs at the incoming 9 volts DC, greatly extending battery life. Switching to stabilized 18-volt operation increases headroom, frequency range, and dynamic response of the pedal.

Using the SM-9's controls and voltage options, an almost unlimited variety of monstrous high-gain tones can be dialed in. Whether you're a full-time metal maniac or just need the occasional "nuclear blast" without the bulk or volume of a full stack, the Maxon SM-9 Pro + Super Metal will deliver the goods.

The SM-9 Pro+ offers all the might and majesty of a high-gain amp stack at a fraction of the size and cost.

Maxon ST-9 PRO+ Super Tube Overdrive Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783354 Rel: 25 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: Bigger, Badder, Bolder - these are the best three words to describe the ST-9 Pro+ Super Tube. The latest and possibly last incarnation of Maxon's legendary 808, the ST-9 features more output, more gain, and more tonal options for the player who simply needs - well, MORE.

Starting with a circuit loosely based on the classic 808 architecture, the ST-9 adds a Mid Enhance knob to control the amount of midrange boost. This knob functions similarly to an amp's presence control, boosting perceived volume and gain as it's turned up.

You may be wondering why an 808-style pedal would need more presence - introducing the ST-9's Low Boost switch.

The Low Boost switch is the ST-9's secret weapon - This unassuming switch completely changes the character of the pedal, adding beefy low end and increased saturation via a LP filter and an alternate set of clipping diodes.

If this wasn't enough, the ST-9 also offers 9- or 18-volt operation via an internal charge pump. Run at 9 for the classic 808 sound and feel or switch to 18 for increased headroom, improved dynamics, and a bigger, chunkier tone to the overdrive.

From bluesy overdrive to diabolical dirt box, the ST-9 is a devilishly diverse pedal that can punish a clean amp or turn a dirty amp into a wall of doom.

The OD808 re-imagined with increased output level, additional saturation and a more diverse palette of tonal options.

TECH TALK:
Input signal goes to a 2SK246 jFET buffer that provides a high input impedance and low output impedance into the 1st Op Amp, a NJM (JRC) 4558D. This 1st 4558 is set up as a tweakable mid boost, with a potentiometer controlling the gain of the boost. The signal goes from the mid boost Op Amp to the second clipping Op Amp, which is set up for a 10 to 110x gain with switchable sets of diodes in the feedback loop and a switchable capacitor to boost bass.

After the clipping Op Amp the signal is routed to an 808-style tone control and unity gain amplifier, after which the signal is passed through a volume potentiometer, another unity gain amplifier (to provide low output impedance) and then the true bypass switch. The use of these unity gain amplifiers helps to preserve high end in the signal which can be lost when passing through the volume control.

The ST9 Pro+ uses an NJM2374A Voltage converter to double the 9V input to 18 VDC, providing more clean headroom before the Op Amps distort. The ST9 circuit is switchable between 9 and 18VDC via an internal switch.

The ST-9 Pro+ features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch - the input of circuit is switched to ground when bypassed.

NOTE ON POWERING THE ST-9 Pro+ - this pedal's voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible.

If it is not possible to connect to a high current jack, you can power the ST-9 Pro+ by leaving a battery in the pedal. Upon initial start-up, unplug the external DC power input cable, engage the pedal, and then plug the DC power input cable back in - the pedal will now power up normally off the external power supply until you power down your pedalboard.

Maxon VOP-9 Vintage OD Pro Clean Booster/Overdrive Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783400 Rel: 25 Sep 20

Clean booster/overdrive pedal
Notes: It's difficult to put into words what makes the VOP-9 stand out from other OD pedals. In the simplest terms, it accentuates the connection between your guitar and amp rather than getting in the way of it.

The VOP makes your fingers feel like they are working effortlessly - notes jump off the fretboard with vibrant, singing sustain and even the most subtle picking nuance is reproduced with exacting dynamic accuracy.

The VOP has a warm, smooth tone without the "fizziness" or mid-spike associated with many solid state pedals. It offers a tight, punchy bottom end with just a hint of mild compression and works equally well with clean or distorted amps to produce a rich, velvety guitar tone.

Based on Maxon's legendary "808" circuit, the VOP-9 has a few hidden tricks in the design that set it apart from your ordinary overdrive.

The VOP-9 features an internal charge pump that allows it to run at 9 or 18 volts. In 9 volt setting the VOP reacts more like a traditional overdrive, while the 18-volt setting it offers increased headroom and a fuller frequency response for a more expressive, dynamic effect.

While most overdrive's pass some degree of clean signal, the VOP-9 allows you to control the amount via the dual-function Drive knob - a dual-ganged pot that controls the amount of Gain as well as the mix between clean and distorted signals.

At zero Drive setting the VOP can function as a completely clean booster, perfect for boosting solos or driving a distorted amp.

Whether you're looking for the ultimate blues tone or that added push to take your solos over the top, the VOP-9 will bring your sound to life.

Over the years the VOP-9 has been the go-to overdrive for many exceptional guitarists including Scott Henderson, Dave Weiner, Jeff Loomis, Doug Rappoport, and Stuart Ziff.

Used by Dave Weiner (Steve Vai Band, GIT Instructor), Doug Rappoport (Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Kim Simmonds GIT Instructor).

The VOP-9 was designed with the seasoned guitarist in mind, yet it can be a great addition to any player's rig.

TECH TALK:
The VOP circuit is basically a hot-rodded 808 with a few special tricks. After a JFET input buffer, the signal is sent a dual-gang Drive pot where it is split between a clean gain stage and the overdrive stage. As the Drive knob is turned up, more signal is sent to the overdrive stage while the drive of this stage is also turned up. If the Drive knob is turned down, more signal is sent to the clean gain stage and the drive of the overdrive stage is turned down. At 12 o'clock on the Drive knob, signal is split 50/50 clean/overdriven.

The VOP-9 features a standard 808-style tone control. However, the entire pedal is running at 18 volts via an internal voltage doubler that bumps up the clean headroom and provides greater output and a fuller frequency response than the typical 808 circuit - in other words, no midrange spike!

Even though the VOP circuit is running at 18 volts, it powers up off standard 9 VDC via battery or a standard external power adaptor.

The VOP-9 features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch.

NOTE ON POWERING THE VOP-9 - this pedal's voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible.

Old Blood Noise Endeavors Black Fountain Oil Can Delay Pedal
Cat: 782065 Rel: 23 Sep 20

Delay pedal
Notes: The Black Fountain reflects back to the days before digital delay, emulating the sounds of the famed and elusive "oil can delay" units. These units emphasized a chorus-like modulation on the repeats of the effect signal as well as a beautiful and warm repeat cycle.

The Modern mode emulates the classic long delay "oil can" units such as the Morley EDL, Tel-Ray Model 10 and Fender Echo-Reverb. The Time and Repeat controls mimic the functions of the vintage units, while the Fluid control introduces modulation based on the characteristic "wobble" of the electrostatic delay platter. The Vintage mode is similar in function to the Modern mode, but has a grittier and gainier feel to the repeats. Both the Modern and Vintage mode have a delay time of 800 milliseconds.

The Organ Tone mode is based on the Tel-Ray Deluxe Organ Tone, Fender Dimension IV and other short-delay "oil can" units. The vintage units had a fixed delay time of approximately 20 milliseconds, which is implemented here, but the Black Fountain goes above and beyond the original units by incorporating variable Rate and Depth controls for the modulation effect. In addition, the Mix control is capable of dialing a 100% wet signal so a vibrato effect may be produced. The Organ Tone mode also features a simple reverb that mimics the single-spring tank in the original Deluxe Organ Tone effect. The Organ Tone mode has a delay time of 211 milliseconds.

The Black Fountain now features an expression out jack and clickless switching. The output level can be tweaked via an internal trimpot for boost, slight drop, or unity gain.

Solid Gold FX Sasori Companion Fuzz Effects Pedal
Cat: 792826 Rel: 03 Nov 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Inspired by the cult classic Shin-Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz, Solid Golid's Sasori (Japanese for scorpion) is a modern, improved take on the original with an equally rich, searing sound.

Supplier's Notes:
Shin-Ei's FY-2 Companion Fuzz was born in a time when the East and West shared a hunger for fuzz, and all the fuzz pedals were being made that are now considered modern classics. As for the Companion Fuzz, let's just say the original needed some work. Despite this, it still had its devotees- lots of them- just ask Wata of Boris. As a humble tribute, the Sasori is offered.

The Sasori - Japanese for scorpion - lives up to its name by delivering a punishing fuzz tone that checks all the boxes of a versatile fuzzbox, yet is still very much a Companion Fuzz at its core. The tremendous load of harmonics and bite that characterized the original still exist within the Sasori with none of the drawbacks.

Anyone who's played an original Companion Fuzz can tell you about them- the fuzz isn't louder than unity, even when all the way up, the Fuzz control is extremely subtle and the enclosure is just plain huge. Fear no more, Solid Gold have worked overtime and have crafted an antidote to these maladies.

Like any good fuzz, the Sasori excels at both chord and lead work, but with a venom-tipped buzzsaw-like edge that pierces through the densest layers of mix without sounding like an icepick. Looking for a harmonically rich, doomy fuzz that can sound like a synthy gated snarl on demand? Make way for the Sasori.

The volume drop of the original Companion Fuzz has been properly dealt with, and Solid Gold have included a tone control to change the character of the grind from dark and moody to brash and untamed. Like the original, the Fuzz control mixes between two different flavors for maximum versatility. This is one Companion Fuzz you'll want to keep close.

KNOBS:

Fuzz: The original Companion had this control wired as a mix, but Solid Gold have made sure it controls the actual fuzz amount, from barely there to tons of hair.

Tone: Unlike traditional tone knobs, this one controls the mids. It starts at scooped and delivers a punishing dose of midrange.

Vol: There's enough volume on tap to put the sting on your amp's front end.

AUXILIARY:

Input: Instrument or other pedal goes here.

Output: Amplifier or other pedal goes here.

True bypass footswitch: Turns the effect on and off.

POWER:

The Sasori requires a center-negative 9VDC power adapter with at least 5mA of current (not included). Almost all power supplies meet this requirement, but check yours beforehand.
