Review: The All City Harmony Show rolls into Ornate towers with the A MasDelux Session EP. Kicking proceedings off "I See" is endowed with the kind of boompty bass that immediately brings to mind Julio Bashmore, complemented by gently cooing vocals and synths that drop in and out of the mix sweetly. The mid section breakdown is divine! Moodymanc takes a good long hard look in the mirror with his Deep Reflection mix of "I See", stripping back the original to create a genuine late night burner - exactly the kind of quality we've come to expect from this producer. This shares the flips side with another original ACHS cut, namely "Extra Funk", which shapes a broken beat around some killer boogie bass and cleverly arranged funk samples.

DJ friendly dancefloor cuts once again from the Gator Boots camp, with a two track EP of razor sharp heaters by the mysterious Ancient Deep, following up some great ones by G. Markus, Blue Mondays and Soul Clap. There is certainly a familiar vibe on A side cut "Underneath The Lights", a sultry late night vocal number with sleazy guitar licks, creamy Rhodes and a string section so warm it'll get the emotions running wild. On the flip, things go deeper into the night with its unmistakable hook from a right classic. It's called "Can't Stop The Jump" and is as slo-mo and lo-slung as you like it - perfect for the afterhours if we do say so ourselves!

Review: Italian label Spittle have launched their new Dependance sub label to champion all things Italo, and they're following up on reissues of Zed's 'Plastic Love' and Trophy's 'Slow Flight' with this gem from fabled Italian DJ and producer Massimo Barsotti. Originally released in 1983 on Alexander Robotnick's Fuzz Dance label, we're absolutely treated to a peak Italo version of Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love', which takes the original and runs with it in the best possible way. As well as the original we get the killer 'W.L.L.' version excursion on the flip, which rocks out just as hard.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!! Bastedos returns with more signature weirdo disco not disco (but disco) cut-up cuts.
This time the painstaking editing comes from A.M., Last Waltz, and Bastedos themselves.
Side A brings us Sit On This, a rolling, chugging, clapping, marimba-ing (!) disco workout in the vein of Material ,which pulls you along through a peaky peak time vocal, a sexed up guitar break, and some chopped-up chanting, all the way to its inevitable hands in the air Piano finale.
Side B first provides us first with No Smoking On The Moon and it's celestial choral stylings. Soft synths and tough bass play with each other beneath B-Movie fx and ecclesiastic organs. The sound of a space age disco cult... from the past.
Finishing off side B we have Magicke, the extended soundtrack to the opening of the gates of hell. Shuffling go-go perc, syncopated drums and fuzzed out chords play out under Satan's saxophone, before giving way to a damned (damned fuzzy that is) guitar, sounding out the call of Cthulu.

The next release on Brazil's ever-promising disco steamer Gop Tun comes from Renato Cohen. Cohen has been an infrequent mainstay of Brazilian dance music for a long time now, most recently appearing on Kling Klong, Tronic and 100% Pure. His releases may not come around every day, but he makes them count when they do. "Dynadisco" is a spaced out slow burner with a looped up groove and simmering pads building towards a powerful, funk-fuelled bass drop. "Party Jam" takes a lighter approach, keeping the samples sprightly and even sprinkling a little acid magic into the tune. It gives Whatever/Whatever plenty to be working on their remix, which spreads across the B side in a fit of electro-disco finery.

Review: Melbourne outfit Cut Copy have long straddled the worlds of indie and dance (and the doomed middle ground where the twain meets) with aplomb. This has extended to their remix commissions - 2011 alone has seen the likes of Gavin Russom, Azari & III and, gulp, Carl Craig tweaking Cut Copy material (fair dues must go to their record label Modular for their part in this curation too). Here they enlist the services of some UK and Australian talent to remix "Blink And You'll Miss A Revolution". First up is a Chicken Lips malfunction, with some early cowbell carnage giving way into a pulsating bassline and twinkling keys. This shares the A-Side with the equally ace Tornado Wallace version, which settles into a murky, rolling groove - file under "late night throbber". On the flip you'll find the original version of the track nestled alongside a clubby, acid-tinged remake from Das Moth and Kenji Takimi.

Review: Modular have been supporting Cut Copy ever since their start way back in 2001, but the group seems to have gotten better with each new release - never afraid of showcasing their love for breaky electro and bleepy house music. London, disco legend and socialite Andrew Weatherall takes care of remixing the gorgeous "Sun God", and he does so with that classic Weatherall style and panache.
