Review: 2019's Wallop was the last album we heard from !!! so fans will be delighted to check out this new full length, Let It Be Blue. The first single from it, 'Storm Around the World,' features Sink Ya Teeth's Maria Uzor and the band explained it was "originally an acid workout about parents who leave on tour," became much more. Expect the album to be a diverse affair packed with dance floor moments but also plenty of more spare sounds that allow the world play to shine through. Fittingly, this one - the band's ninth album - comes pressed on nice blue wax.

Review: Brooklyn-based band 79.5 make music right now, rather than being some long-lost acts from the 80s as you might expect from the cover. The group consists of singer, songwriter and composer Kate Mattison, singer and rapper Lola Adanna, drummer Caito Sanchez, bassist Andrew Raposo and sax player and flautist Izaak Mills. Their self-titled album comes on Razor-N-Tape and captures the sound of New York City perfectly with soul and psychedelic melodies that are hard to match. From 70s underground disco to acid jazz to and sweet pop sounds, they draw on it all for this fine concoction of dancefloor gems, which also serves as a protest at the often all too male dominated world of dance music.

Review: It All Comes Down to This is the album latest release from Manchester icons A Certain Ratio, and it's a record that is helmed by producer Dan Carey from Speedy Wunderground. Somewhat returning to their origins, the record presents ten concise tracks with a hint of the group's signature electronic flair. Notably, it's the first recording featuring the core trio of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop, and Donald Johnson, without any additional collaborators. From their celebrated 1982 album and right up to their dynamic last EP in 2023, this album shows the band's still evolving and still committed to new musical advancements. A testament to their enduring legacy, It All Comes Down to This solidifies A Certain Ratio's place among Manchester's finest.

Review: A Certain Ratio, Manchester icons, are back and in fine style with the new album It All Comes Down to This, which arrives here on eco vinyl. This record, while nodding to their roots, delivers 10 succinct tracks infused with the group's distinctive electronic touch and marks the first recording featuring the core trio of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop, and Donald Johnson without additional collaborators. The album exemplifies the band's ongoing evolution with short and sweet cuts like 'All Comes Down To This' next to the compelling likes of 'Bitten By A Lizard' and plenty in between.

It's a lush and tropical work of idealised disco grooves, deepest house, Balearic, smooth jazz and Mediterranean cool that cries out to be played loud while you sip on cocktails and dream of being somewhere utterly blissful and classy. Dreamy textures define each cut with nice fresh rhythms, glistening chords and lush melodies all sprinkled with delightful percussive detail. Big up to A Vision Of Panorama for serving up a beautiful album that is sure to soundtrack the warmest months of the year for many.

With a broad range of styles from champagne boogie to disco to mellow 808-based r&b, 'Feeling You' shows off the eclectic talents of Adesha's lyrical and Vincent's productive range. Highlights include the sparsely populated uptempo jaunts such as 'Life's Too Short' and the slower, phatter G-funkers like 'Retribution'.

Review: Later this year, crate-digging specialists Cordial Recordings is set to release an album of previously unheard recordings by cult German jazz-fusion combo Afrodisia. To get us in the mood, the London-based label has decided to reissue the band;s sole previous album, 1980's Elephant Sunrise. While the album is best known for the impeccable jazz-funk sweetness of "Sugar Free" - recorded, like much of the rest of the album, by a mixture of locals and guest musicians from a nearby U.S army base - there's much to enjoy throughout, from the psychedelic heaviness of opener "TMFF" and elastic dancefloor workout "Psychic Summers", to the slap-bass-propelled funk-rock of "Wild Turkey" and intense, full-throttle closer "Zugabe (Encore)".

Review: Omar S presents this remastered reissue of the 1979 album by this Singaporean disco band led by Ardo Guerzo and Jeremiah Star on his revered FXHE imprint. The name of the band is an acronym of their first names respectively. They mixed disco and salsa in their hit "Classical Salsa". They covered the Ohio Players' classic hit "Sweet Sticky Thing" and they named their 1976 released album after it. Star was also in the short lived Funkgus outfit which is worth checking out, if you can find it! A true diggers delight for those that knew it seems, but now brought to a wider audience, thankfully. Originally on Baal, a UK label founded in the mid '70s by Jay Shotam of October Cherries. The original Baal label was founded in Singapore by his band in the late '60s until it became defunct in 1980.

It was a band formed from Akin Nathaniel, Big John Oaikhena, Didi Lead, Frankie Ntoh Song, Geoffrey Omadehbo, Johnny Woode and Yakubu Daniel and their 'Sweet Country' came in 1982 in their native Nigeria. It's a lush tapestry of sounds from across the world, all with an Afro twist - funk, soul, world and country all feature next to boogie and Afrobeat with plenty of hooky vocals.

Review: Arabic music crate-diggers Habibi Funk have so far proved adept at unearthing killer material from the 1970s and '80s that joins the dots between indigenous styles and dominant Western genres. Their latest collection focuses on the work of 1970s Egyptian band Al Massireen, an outfit funded by one of the country's most successful producers of the period, Hany Shenoda. Modern Music, so called because the band was Shenoda's attempt to modernize Arabic music, includes tracks taken from a wealth of forgotten cassettes and albums. Musically, it's rather special; a heady blend of Arabic vocals and instrumentation, orchestral disco influences, blue-eyed soul, grown-up pop and dreamy West Coast style rock.

Review: Aldorande is a slick band with a positive sound. They impressed us last summer with their Summer Body EP and now the crew finds its way back to the acclaimed Favorite label in France once more. On this full length they casts free from planet earth and head off to explore interplanetary landscapes with their usual and distinctive jazz-funk outlook. Opener 'Fenetres Sur Le Temps' immediately has your head amongst the twinkling stars, while your rump is tied to the funky bassline. There is lush and loose drum work on 'Vortex Des Possibles' as well as splashy cymbals and upbeat funky riffs that melt the heart, 'Oracle' is a tight number with lush Rhodes and prickly perc tumbling free. A fine album.

Review: Alek Lee builds on his long-standing relationship with Antinote by finally coming through with his debut album, You. As one of the most respected DJs operating in Tel Aviv, not to mention playing in bands like Shame On Us and Project Runaway, he's built up a reputation for expansive music knowledge and an instinct for the obscure, which makes him fit in perfectly amongst the Antinote crew. There's a washed-out, surf reverb mood to the likes of 'Eretz Acheret', and his laconic vocal delivery gets embellished by guest spots from the likes of Keren Ilan and Eyal Talmudi. For Balearic sun seekers and reflective road trippers, this is an album rich in feeling to burrow its way into your heart for a lifetime.

Review: Canadian soul and boogie man Goldie Alexander dropped his most well-known hit 'Knocking Down Love' in 1981 on the TGO label. It now lends its name to this longer collection of his work which takes in all the tracks off his one and only studio album - 1983's Fool In Love - as well as various different club and dub mixes of those tunes. It makes for a heartwarming mix of disco, electronic grooves and smoochy soul sounds with Goldie's, well, golden, tones front and centre. A great one to have for more intimate dancefloor moments.

Review: Erol Alkan's 2005 Bugged Out mix was a gateway release for many, soundtracking the entrance into club land, yet also introducing these virgin ears to more esoteric strains of music via the accompanying Bugged In Selection. Some seven years on, Alkan and the evergreen club brand have revisited the concept with a second edition, and like the inaugural release, the Phantasy Sound boss's ever lasting love for the vinyl format has seen a selection of tracks make the translation to this double vinyl release. Six tracks from the Bugged Out mix appear, with the Italo disco of Amin Peck brushing shoulders with Model 500 and an Obi Blanche edit of the Ron Hardy classic "Sensation", while the Bugged In Selection sees some psyche-folk fare from Buffalo Springfield and Space Lady among other gems.

Review: Canadian singer, songwriter and visual artists Allie X - real name Alexandra Ashley Hughes - is a great representative for the resurgent live electro-synth scene. Emerging from the Toronto indie circuit in the mid-2000s, it was a relocation to Los Angeles, a heartland for neon sounds, and early work with producers Circuit and Billboard that first saw an identity begin to form, which is as retro as it is futuristic, picking up scores of fans along the way, including Katie Perry no less. Girl With No Face is her latest long form, and sees the artist again stick her flag confidently in the ground. Tunes bounce, track, soar, step, pump and - at times - fall apart, emotionally speaking, with clear references to the likes of Ladyhawke, Madonna, Kraftwerk, Cocteau Twins and a-Ha, among others. Definitely one to watch, if you're not already.

Here issued on CD for the very first time via Mr Bongo, the album features the Ghanaian star brilliantly joining the dots between driving disco-funk, jazz-funk, intoxicating slow jams, calypso, dub reggae and his beloved highlife. Highlights come thick and fast throughout, with standouts including heavy percussion jam "Simigwa", the boogie-dub skank of "Adwoa", the down-low grooves of "Walking Down The Street" and the killer disco highlife anthem "It's High Life". His Cuban heritage and background as a hip-hop DJ for Slum Village mean that he comes at house music from a slightly different perspective than most. Couple that with a vast record collection and next-level ear for samples and he rarely turns out a dud tune. Enter Address V, his latest album on Moodymann's Mahogany label and another masterful one that straddles moods and grooves with effortless ease and rare style. There are crisp house kickers like 'Cybermate,' heavyweight funk beatdowns like 'Funky 2Step' and slouchy and low-slung joints like 'Detoxfromtheworld' amongst dirty hip-hop jams and so much more. Another timeless album from a Motor City great.

Review: When Danilo 'MCDE' Plessow and Bobby van Putten established their Space Grapes label last year, it was their stated intention to present 'the best in contemporary live dance music'. What they meant, we suspect, was releases like this debut album from van Putten's Another Taste combo - a four-piece whose colourful and sonically authentic sound rooted in boogie, 80s electrofunk and obscure, private press disco. The results are undeniably impressive, sounding something like a long-lost album from 1983 - complete with kaleidoscopic synths, soulful vocals and killer basslines - of the kind that dusty-fingered crate diggers consider a 'holy grail'. Highlights include the Plessow co-produced boogie brilliance of 'Anything You Want' and the funky bassline driven mid-tempo disco-soul of 'Time Is On My Side'.

This one is another case in point as it finds music historian, DJ and daytime party promoter John Armstrong - who has put together more than 200 compilations - digging deep to offer up an alternate take on the famous bubblegum sounds that came out of Black South Africa towards the end of the apartheid years. Yebo! Rare Mzansi Party Beats from Apartheid's Dying Years is a superb showcase of diverse sounds created by the youth of the day as a means of escape. There is already talk of a second volume, which we're very much ready for after hearing this one.

His 2018 album Welcome To The Colorful World of Arp Frique showed off his fresh take on disco with a host of collaborators and now he once again lays down the beats while various guests appear on this new EP on Colourful World. Elements of zouk, highlife, Afro-disco and many more worldly rhythms lend these cuts their unique and characterful style. Analog drum machines, kick rhythms and psyched out synths all sit next to great vocals for a kaleidoscopic trip like no other.

Review: This latest reissue from Awesome Tapes From Africa is the whole reason for founder Brian Shimkovitz starting the blog and the label that grew out of it. Some 13 years ago, Shimkovitz stumbled across a cassette copy of Obaa Sima whilst travelling Ghana and his love for Ata Kak's music lead to the foundation of the Awesome Tapes From Africa blog and the commencement of a long running effort to track down the Ghanaian musician. Some four years after ATFA became a label, Shimkovitz finally tracked down the musician, real name Yaw Atta-Owusu, and was granted permission to reissue Obaa Sima, using the second hand tape purchased in Ghana as the source. The seven tracks on this LP are a winning tinny combination of highlife, rap, pop, and more with "Daa Nyinaa" sounding like a cover version of William De Vaughn's "Be Thankful For What You've Got".

Review: When Atmosfear released "En Trance" in 1981, jazz-funk ruled UK dancefloors. The British outfit's lauded debut album reflected this fact, brilliantly joining the dots between jazz-funk, soul, disco, jazz-dance and the soundsystem dub influences that were becoming increasingly prevalent in British music at the time. As this re-mastered Mr Bongo reissue proves, it remains a potent and hugely enjoyable album all these years on. Check, for example, the dub effects, sweet vocals and punchy sax riffs of "Free Tonight", the rubbery dub disco/jazz funk fusion of "Creator's Dream", the Azymuth-esque antics of "Interplay" and the synth-laden former single "Invasion".

Review: Capturing the essence and feels of the long-standing event he runs in his Swiss hometown of Lausanne, veteran digger and selector Attias presents a brand new compendium of sweet compositions that sum up he's at creatively and spiritually. Gems on gems on gems: highlights that we guarantee will appeal to your good tastes and dancefloor include the hypnotic vibraphone wash of Cro-Magnon's "Midnight Magic", the slept-on jittering funk of Tatham, Mensah, Lord & Ranks's "Cascade" and Material and Nona Hendrix's ludicrously funky, ultimately sleazy slinker "Over & Over". We suspect you'll be playing this record over and over, too...

Each series will be a multi-disc, various artist collection that is united by one remixer, and there can be few better to kick it off than the legend that is Shep Pettibone. Review: The art of the remix is no doubt indebted to NYC legends such as Shep Pettibone and Arthur Baker. It's quite fitting then that the latter should curate some of the greatest moments of the former on part two of The Classic 12 Inch Master Mixes Volume One. Pettibone's innovative approach to remixing throughout the '80s and early '90s has had a lasting impact on dance music. Featured on here are his renditions of B B & Q's '(I'm A) Dreamer' where he gets that perfect late night boogie-down vibe in effect, as well as Lionel Richie's classic 'Love Will Conquer All', perfectly streamlining the groove of The Salsoul Orchestra's 'Ooh, I Love It (Love Break)' and lending his deft hand to First Choice's anthemic 'Let No Man Put Asunder' among many others.

Review: Arthur Baker is an American producer and DJ known for his work with monumental dance acts such as New Order, Afrika Bambaataa and the Pet Shop Boys. While coming up as a DJ and studio producer, he also made a name for himself as a remixer over the years, and this box set, released by reissuing specialists Demon Music, goes the extra mile to do solid justice to his reinterpetive efforts. They're not the choices you'd expect, either, with the comp proving that Baker opted to remix the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen and Tina Turner, in among choices you might also expect like Huey Lewis, The Psychedelic Furs and The B-52's.

Review: Few electronic music producers can claim to have made quite as big an impact as Arthur Baker. During the 1980s the New Yorker was involved in creating (or mixing) a string of ground-breaking electro, freestyle and proto-house records, before becoming one of the most in-demand remixers on the planet. This vast box set, which includes six weighty slabs of vinyl and an informative insert, celebrates his legacy, offering up a mixture of pioneering productions (Afrika Bambaata and Soulsonic Force's 'Planet Rock', 'Walking On Sunshine' by Rockers Revenge, 'Confusion' by New Order), dancefloor anthems (Freez's 'I.O.U', his enormous rework of Fleetwood Mac's 'Big Love') and a string of essential but lesser-celebrated revisions - all presented in full-length, DJ-friendly form. In a word: essential.

This vinyl reissue features selections from said mix, all seminal and diverse tracks that were altogether part of Baldelli's distinct Afro-cosmic sound. From the neon-lit Italo of New Music's 'While You Want' to the spaced-out dub of Culture Club's 'Murder Rap Trap' (feat Captain Crucial), through to the tunnelling psychedelia of Axxess' 'Pages' and the hypnotic tribal minimalism of The Pools' 'Jamiaca Running' among many more - this is a true zeitgeist of one magical era.

Review: Legendary DJ and producer Daniele Baldelli has put his name to many different compilations in his time, and plenty have been on this Use Vinyl label such as Cosmic Drag and Baia Degli Angeli 1977-1978. Now he's back with a second volume of his Cosmic Step album collection which comes across two slabs of wax and includes a lovely coaster. These are disco not disco sounds with stiff synths and rugged arps over steely retro-future drum machine sounds. Kraut, wave, psych, funk and many other influences colour the tunes and help make it such a top collection.

Review: DJ pioneer and Balearic forefather Daniele Baldelli originally released his Baia Degli Angeli 1977-1978 album way back in 2005 on CD. It has now been pressed to vinyl across a series of different installments and this third part comes on two 12"s. It is jam-packed with rarities and anthems from Baia 77/78 and on the inside cover is the Antibaia strip, a historic comic drawn by Andrew Joseph Corsaletti. Musically it's a dazzling mix of disco, Balearic and smooth sunset sounds that ooze class. Another essential outing from the one and only Daniele Baldelli.

It is, they say, "the product of a magma of influences, the emanation of large decade of music infused lives." It is also a deeply absorbing musical landscape with cosmic overtones, spiritual moods and elements of everything from kraut to dub to disco, funk and more. A rich array of instruments and percussion join the retro-future synth work to make each track busy and compelling, fresh and unique. It's an escapist and therapeutic listen that works both in the club, at home, in the car or on the beach.

Review: Chris Bangs is widely, albeit not so, known for coining the term 'acid jazz'. If it weren't for him it's likely we wouldn't have modern day future jazz pushers like Soul Jazz or Brownswood. This new compendium, 'Firebird', charts the DJ and producer's latest sonic explorations, blurring the boundaries between every influence from contemporary jazz, UK electronic dance, and Latin dance styles from bossa nova to salsa. It also contains several examples of what is known as his 'East Coast' sound, which pays homage to the fusion of jazz and funk and which spread throughout UK nightclubs as far back as the early 80s.

Review: Beatconductor brings some disco goodness and stylish 80s reworks to this first volume of Rekworks on an unknown label. The opener is a version of The Beatles's Come Together' that is slow and steady and sublime. There are more freewheeling and textural guitar licked grooves on 'Tenement Funster' while '1969' is another sleazy indie groove and 'Jailbreak' gets low slung and filthy with its rude guitars and pristine drum work. These are sure to bring a different kind of dirty disco vibe to any dance floor.

Review: Library music maestro and original member of The Shadows Brian Bennett has a raft of sought-after records to his name, but this is surely one of the most prized. As with the best library music, the execution of the compositions is impeccable - like slipping on silken luxury leisurewear for your ears. The record has been a rich source for sampling over the years, so half the joy is in spotting licks and loops from your favourite tunes, but equally these disco-fied delicacies funk all on their own. Lovers of the Black Devil Disco Club vibe will be more than happy getting down to these tasteful cosmic groovers, unbelievably repressed for just the first time on Isle Of Jura since the original release in 1978.

Review: Amsterdam label Music from Memory are steadily becoming the most interesting archivally minded operation out there, with this retrospective of Mallorcan guitarist Joan Bibiloni following essential issues of work by Gigi Masin and Leon Lowman. On El Sur, MFM founders Tako Reyenga, Abel Nagenast and Jamie Tiller cast their gaze over Bibiloni's work from the more experimental era of his long career (he first released a single in 1967) selecting tracks from a six album run which commenced with the album Una Vida Llarga I Tranquila, originally released in 1984. It was during this time that Bibiloni began to compose with the assistance of tape loops, drum computers and synthesisers and these primitive experiments make for compelling listening across the ten tracks on El Sur.

Review: Italian dance producer Gianni Bini debuts on Groove Culture with the House Of Glass LP, topping up his impressive discography with a solo studio effort, and bolstering the already massive stock of production credits attached to his bulging, insatiable name. Though his various monikers over the years have indeed propelled him in a many-a-direction, Bini's latest here centres on epic disco, and rewinds the tape to an earlier sound first explored in his formative days as a producer; retroactively, we hear a livelier, more contemporary take on the stabbing strings, bristling bass and bubblegum beats - all live-recorded - that first put him on the map.

Review: Berlin-based boy/girl band Bionda e Lupo has a unique sound that brings alienation, disdain and delusionary disco to synth wave. Their stark rhythms and honeyed melodies and lyrics all combine to mesmeric effect, and never more so was that true than on this new album, La Deutsche Vita. It is made on an array of authentic old school analogue gear so has a lovely future-retro aesthetic, with bright melodies and angular, post-punk drum funk overlaid with sweet vocals. It's fast-paced body music with a playful twist but serious compositional skills.

These are psyched-out takes on disco with a rugged edge but plenty of thinking arps such as on the opener 'Corps Magnifique' with its French spoken words adding an air of romance. 'Corps Magnifique' pairs haggling metal synths with rugged beats and 'Etincelles' then has rugged bass and acidic leads bring menace to the party. The flipside features three more curious and left-of-centre takes on disco.

Review: Legendary producer Black Devil Disco Club aka French composer Bernard Fevre is back for one final album that completes one of music's most strange and enigmatic discographies. His early work like 1977's debut record was often mistaken for the work of Aphex Twin as it was so experimental and ahead of his time. 2006 album 28 After on this label disproved that theory though and now this latest offering is another spellbinding collision of styles form wave to EBM, disco to experimental electronics. A weird and wonderful ride deep into the musical psyche of a truly maverick artist, it is another timeless work that serves as a fine tribute to his past 40 years of subverting expectation.

His lavish disco and soul sounds have become hugely sought after - not least his 'Nightlife' classic. Review: Discom continues to unearth genuine gems from the former Yugoslavia. The dusty-fingered reissue imprint's latest pick comes from 1983. It's the sole, self-titled album from Boom Selekija, a relatively short-lived eight-piece made up of funk and soul musicians from other Belgrade bands, who disbanded shortly after the LP was released. Musically, the album pairs vibrant and authentic disco-boogie instrumentation - with some Eastern European flourishes - with impassioned Serbian-language vocals. It's a quietly impressive set all told, with our picks including the spacey and loved-up stomper 'Studentski Stan', the rubbery bass guitar, rock-style guitar solos and intergalactic synth textures of 'Vladina Gitara', the subtly jazz-funk-infused, slap bass-propelled 'Juljaz Me', and the almost beat-free jazz-funk sleaze of 'Frizerka Naja'.

Review: French producer and multi-instrumentalist Antoine Bourachot is back just 12 months after his last release with another expansive and immersive album of groove driven espionage. Inspired by fusion and disco classic from days gone by, Bourachot has help from guitarist Jim Grandcamp and Shoko Igarashi who provides soprano saxophone and flute. The storytelling album has cinematic tracks, meandering musical narratives and some virtuoso solos full of funk, all recorded in a sanctuary full of analogue gear somewhere in Paris. What a fantastic and fantastical trip.

Review: Surely one of the most iconic of all the British funk bands of the 90s, The Brand New Heavies split the difference between the heads-down seriousness of the rare groove scene with a sharp pop instinct which found them great success. This best of collection gives you hit after hit, and as soon as the irresistible groove of 'Never Stop' kicks in you'll be taken right back to that era. There's a house sensibility to some of the tunes which speaks to their proximity to Soul II Soul, but this is a funk band first and foremost, and their dynamic flow as a group is what resulted in such evergreen hits as 'Shelter' and 'Apparently Nothing'.

Review: Splash down to 1978-80: influential Philly funk troupe Breakwater gave the world two albums over two years.Full focus on slow jams and soulful fusion, the Breakwater melting pot is just as strong in jazz and Latin as it is soul and funk. Here we're treated to a selection of the best moments from Breakwater and Splashdown (minus the famous Daft Punk-sampled "Release The Beast") such as the unforgettable Floydian chorus of "That's Not What We Came Here For", the soaking wet bass and tight bright horns of the raunchy boogie jam "Do It Till The Fluid Gets Hot" and the sunshine soul of the sublime "Say You Love Me Girl". A sharp insight into a band that was criminally short-lived at the time..Rumour is there is a new album on the horizon and they still play live -there were two live uk dates in Jan 2017 already !

Review: Eight years on from his last After Dark compilation for Late Night Tales, font of all musical knowledge Bill Brewster returns with a fourth instalment. According to the man himself, it's a 'freestyle' selection with 'low and slow' the overriding theme. That loose but logical concept allows Brewster to showcase a diverse range of selections that defy easy categorisation. Highlights come thick and fast throughout, with our current pics including the synth-heavy Balearic voodoo of 'Idle Hours' by Idle Band, the Weatherall-esque chug of Hotel Motel's terrific remix of Jeb Loy Nichols' 'Don't Drop Me', the dub disco-goes-cosmic disco squelch of Ray Mang remixing Khruangbin, the deep synth-pop sweetness of Debbie & The Code's 'Code of Love', a terrific Naill edit of Gilbert O'Sullivan's 'So What', and the deep electro of Carl Finlow.

Review: The first installment of Late Night Tales' After Dark was that rarest of things: a DJ mix that retained a smoky sense of early morning, home listening atmosphere while retaining an open-minded focus on the dancefloor. This follow-up - once again compiled and mixed by Bill Brewster - offers more of the same. Musically it's pleasingly varied, moving from the string-drenched downtempo beauty of Typesun's "Last One Home", to the heady Balearic rock of General Lee, via Justus Kohnke, the soulful post-bruk smoothness of As One, and the sprightly analogue electronics of Emperor Machine's remix of Paqua's "Late Train". There's also a bunch of previously unreleased tunes to enjoy, including killer contributions from the Mang Dynasty (AKA Ray Mang), The Gino Fontaine (Chicken Lips man Andrew Meecham) and - most surprising of all - The Grid and Robert Fripp.

Review: Given their respective careers, you'd expect this surprise debut album from Balearic nu-disco specialist James Bright and Groove Armada member Tom Findlay to be rather good - or at least sonically attractive with good grooves and quality musicianship. It is, of course, with the pair opting for a glossy, 80s-influenced synth sound, bubbly electronic grooves, sun-splashed Balearic pop intent and authentically executed nods to West Coast electrofunk and nu-disco pioneers Metro Area. Our picks of a very strong bunch include the synth-fired blue-eyed soul of 'Slow Dance', the sunset-ready gorgeousness of 'Flowers', the low-slung, late-night AM radio vibes of 'It's Only Rain' and the Morgan Geist-esque 'NY Disco (Smile)'.
