Review: Norwegian alt-rock titans Motorpsycho continue on strong form, all while reflecting on a mammoth 35-year career so far, with the brand new RSD exclusive record Small Boats. Following on from 2023's full-length LP Yay!, Small Boats takes a retraoactive approach, manifesting as a 23-track double CD "primer compilation, which offers a comprehensive looking back on said career. A UK-only release, this one is a chronological reminiscer, bringing together a bit of everything, from obscure vinyl-only tracks, single tracks and album exclusives, into one neat collection.

Review: With just their third single, Exposed to Some Light, Nightbus continues to showcase their moody and atmospheric sound, drawing comparisons to many well regarded bands. The track unfolds like a captivating narrative, drenched in nostalgia yet tinged with a sense of dread. Originally born from a poem written during a cold January weekend, the song explores the idea of bringing something to the forefront of one's mind and current headspace. Through their minimal yet evocative video, Nightbus invites listeners to delve into their introspective world.

Review: Sheffield metalheads Black Spiders deliver a riveting debut with Can't Die, Won't Die, squarely laying down the un-f*ck-withable ethic that is 'all killer, no filler'. Known for their hooking slogans such as "eat thunder, shit lightning!" and now "alright, alright, alright", the Yorkshire rippers take after Matthew McConaughey across twelve sonic napalm-drops, burning brightly for a second time after a surprise reunion following a breakup before the pandemic. Upping the usual pace of blues rock to breakneck, rubber-biting tempi, tracks such as 'Driving My Rooster' and 'Destroyer' elicit Red Wally recollections of Motorhead, with a surfeit of restless energy and unmoved movement, as they aim to reclaim the unriddled joy of bird-flipping the audience.
