Super Deep (6:18)
What's Wrong (6:51)
Underwater Adrenalinn (8:01)
Against Your Idea (5:28)
Review: Hot on the heels of his rather good - though not particularly sub-heavy - Beast In My Bass EP on Automatic Writing, Sweely pitches up on Mulen for the very first time. In keeping with his evolving style, opener 'Super Deep' sits somewhere between deep house and tech-house, with warming, fluttering chords and whispered female vocal snippets riding bumping, US garage-influenced drums and heavy, chunky bass. 'What's Wrong' employs similar beats and bass but sees Sweely opt for jazzier chords, glitchy electronics and spacey stabs, while 'Underwater Adrenalinn'[sic] is darker and creepier in tone whilst retaining his usual funky drums and deep bass. Closing cut 'Against Your Idea', meanwhile, doffs a cap to late 1990s UK tech-house while being framed for 21st century dancefloors.

Together (5:53)
Peek 8 (6:05)
Interlock (5:54)
Broke Out (6:29)
Review: East End Dubs's Eastenderz label remains at the forefront of its own sound world with this heady and boiled down dub tech EP from Rigzz. The key to 'Together' is the airing of a sleek, infectious groove with deft sci-fi sound designs that occupy the mind. 'Peek 8' layers up fluid drums and kicks into a bubbling mix that never lets up and then 'Interlock' gets more loose, with warm and molten chords and a smart female vocal sample teasing and pleasing. Closer 'Broke Out' has the heaviest kicks of the lot. They swing down low and pull you in further each and every time.

Loser (6:52)
Normalized (6:56)
Sender (6:13)
Yupiter (6:03)
Review: After an impressive debut transmission, Oscuro Records is back with a second instalment. It is Italian talent Deyayu who takes the reins with four cuts of driving house music that are filled with flavour. First out of the blocks is 'Loser', an offbeat tune with retro chords and churning beats. 'Normalized' is a quicker cut with techno in its bones and lively percussion layered over the top, while 'Sender' sinks down into a more squelchy groove with woozy late night pads. There is plenty of variation and invention across these tunes, making this another good one for Oscuro Records.

Percalist (6:07)
Strokaim (7:00)
Review: OGE White come through with not one but two new slices of minimal goodness this month, and as ever it's the in house production team who are at the buttons. There is a playfulness to the smattering of toms, kicks and keys of the opener that feels fresh and airy. The outdoorsy vibes continue on 'Lite Feet' with its warm chords and silvery drums and then 'Percalist' layers up bells, harmonies and xylophones into a lively number that again brings light to any set. Last of all, the crew can't resist a bit of heads down and shady tackle on 'Strokaim.'

Contrapoint Y (7:15)
Where I'm (8:01)
Sass (8:58)
Heads Down (7:44)
Review: You can't beat a bit of hand stamped, vinyl only, white label minimal techno when it comes to knowing dance floors, and OGE now serve up a seventh such slab of wax. There is a bubbling bassline and softness to the hi hats of 'Contrapoint Y' that immediately brings the vibes, then 'Where I'm' disorientates with its swimming pads, icy claps and drawn out synth smears before the flappy kick eventually mark lift off proper. 'Sass' is perfectly dry, expertly reduced minimal house that is absolute late night bait and 'Heads Down' is the sort of undulating, freaky tech house that Craig Richards feeds off.

Track & Trace (6:50)
The Leyton House Track (Silverlining remix) (6:57)
Purple Gloves (6:31)
Switchheroo (Jeigo remix) (6:06)
Review: Right Angle Records marks its arrival into the world of minimal and tech house with a pair of fresh new cuts from Mr Fixie. His first original, 'Track & Trace' is a bulbous party pumper with nice tripped out effects, then the other, 'Purple Gloves' is a more tense and acid laced bumper.
'The Leyton House Track' is presented as a Silverlining remix, and it brings busted bass with skipping kicks and a nice sweet vocal for some rude boy flavours. Last of all, we're treated to some dreamy old school breakbeats on 'Switchheroo' (Jeigo remix).

Floss Is Boss (6:49)
Review: James Andrew takes the reins for the 11th EP on Subsequent and turns up four bumping techno, acid and bass fusions. 'Source of Sound' kicks off with a squirrelling bassline and party-ready synths and the brightness continues on 'The Shabadoo Dance' with its pumping bass and kicks and cosmic synth rays. 'Kick It' will jack any floor. It's robust and rubbery drums are a foundation off which twisted synths and steel hits all bounce then closing out is possibly the best of the lot, 'Floss IS Boos' with its loose synth leads and characterful tech-funk,

Kerri Chandler - "Think Of Something" (Floyd Lavine remix) (7:04)
Manoo - "De's Lullaby" (8:11)
Review: Berlin club Watergate is famous for two things - it's futuristic aesthetic with an LED ceiling adn flashy lighting all through the riverside club, and its mix series The 27th edition was mixed by Hyenah and as ever the label have served up some tasty EPs with tunes taken from it. This is the second one and has four standouts: Floyd Lavine brings some brilliantly afro funk to his house remix of the one and only Kerri Chandler, Super Flu's 'Effreticon' is tense tech house and 'Effreticon' offers more deep, pensive grooves. Manoo rounds out this handy EP on a similar tip.

Corroded
Pass Over
Viktrak
The Free
Review: A plethora of different dancefloor flavours from Frankfurt's Chris Geschwidner, across four tracks, that take in the warmth and soul of house and the cold steel beauty of techno and bound them up into something fresh and altogether new. 'Corroded' has the colliding drum machines and handclaps of vintage techno or even electro, but welded to a skippy, playful beat that is a definite mood lifter, while dreamy synths seductively cut a swathe around the metronomic hypnotism. 'Pass Over' is smoother, sleeker and combines a bleep techno approach to the soundscape with a bed of comforting Detroit-style synths and strings. 'Viktrak' has more classic Motor City influences but a more classic garage-slanted beat regime - imagine Derrick May's 'Nude Photo' overhauled by Roy Davis Jr. 'The Free' ends the set off with simple but effective electro funk flourishes and a sense of sunny optimism, bringing this lively, accessible but deep affair to a close.

Metodic (7:16)
Adjuvant Register (7:14)
Candva Cumva (8:12)
Review: Burnski's Constant Sound imprint continues its fine run of form via a rock-solid EP from prolific Romanian duo NTFO. Continuing the vibe of the pair's original recent releases, opener 'Metodic' sits somewhere between driving European tech house and chunky, melody-rich deep house - all restless bass, spacey aural textures, reverb-laden lead lines and crispy drum sounds. Flipside opener 'Adjuvant Register' opts for a warmer but no less impactful or hypnotic blend of tech-house and deep house elements, while closing cut 'Candva Cumva' is a forthright and funky take on the more intergalactic end of the tech-house spectrum.

Closer To Heaven (In A Rave)
Mind
My Man
Review: A deep dig from the early 90s gets a new lease of life as Cosmic Soup follow up their reissue of Howard Dodd's Oxidation 12" with another of his projects - Doc Bozique. This one-off release has attained a mythical reputation due to its scarcity and its pitch perfect balance of early trance, bleep and tech house in its infancy. 'Closer To Heaven' is a rose-tinted vision of techno in all its nascent glory, all shimmering pads and uplifting leads, while 'Closer To Heaven (In A Rave)' draws on the distinctive Sheffield-centric bleep sound to deadly effect. 'Mind' follows a similar path of vintage techno, albeit with a sparkling array of synth lines out front, before 'My Man' brings it home with a dreamy, bass-loaded deep house cut.

May May May (5:27)
Review: Robin Ordell has been releasing for a decade and makes his first release in 2021 on Wicked Bass. It finds him in real party mode from the off, with the pumping tech funk of 'Through The Motions' layering old school video game synths with a punchy bassline that never lets up. There is a more wonky and original sound to 'Inside Out Song' that is always going to get the attention of the floor and then things go slow and heavy on the zoned out deep techno trudger that is 'Systemic.' 'May May May' is astral techno to go exploring to.

Emanuel Satie & Nanghiti - "Forever More" (4:59)
Review: Watergate welcomes back a crew of regular artists for an EP taken from the 27th instalment of its long running mix series. The Adana Twins kick off with a dark and bubbling minimal house number to set a late night mood then Sabb & Black Circle combine to great effect on the more uplifting, piano laced 'Vega', no doubt inspired by the house icon of the same name. Flip it over for 'Suwedi', a tech house track that traps you in a trance with computer melodies and last of all Emanuel Satie & Nanghiti get all spiritual and joyous with the warm house surges of 'Forever More.'

Hover Mother (8:11)
Capisur (8:00)
Sortie (9:16)
Review: Alci makes a fine debut on the Nervmusic label with seven slick and seductive final house cuts that have funk deep in their bones. The wonky, lumpy 'Heinz' is an early standout for its playful but excellent sounds, and as far as old school fax machine samples go you'd be hard pushed to find one used better than on 'Low Functioning.' 'Hover Mother' sounds liek early Ricardo Villalobos with all its freaky sines and dub sounds, and 'Sortie' is another brilliantly dry, abstract affair to make you move.

Deep Soul Calm (The Vast Profound remix) (7:30)
Review: Fourier Transform is a brand new label vying for attention in the minimal and tech house world. On the evidence of its first transmission it will do so with ease: Casey Tucker brings the space age tech funk on 'Deep Soul Calm' with its wiggy lead and crashing hits, then 'Identity' goes more deep on warmer pads and supple grooves. The Vast Profound remix of 'Deep Soul Calm' is a cosmic one, with plenty of modulated synths weaving and warping their way through the cosmos on a wave of positivity.

Review: Past Inside The Present marks the end of The Sky Trilogy by Purl with Holographic Prism. This triptych of works has sought to explore collective dreams of celestial origin. The ambient sounds are all deeply involving and here come remixed by SVLBRD, Lav, Slow Dancing Society, Coppice Halifax, Warmth, Deflektion, Innesti, & Svartholtet. There is lots to love, with the icy shimmers and late night chill of the opener to the more dark, dank and dubbed out version of 'Merope' by Lav. 'Celestial Entropy' gets two different but equally fascinating versions turned out to close this absorbing EP in style.

Review: Spanish producer Rafael Cuartero Lopez has been whipping up a storm for the past 10 years via labels like Viva, Desolat, Saved and Hot Creations, and now he lands on Constant Black with a clutch of finely honed, peak time tech house thumpers. There's a militant urgency to these tracks, which lean in hard on the drums and fill out the space in between with wriggling, writhing threads of electronic interference. If you're after melodic hooks look elsewhere, this is raw, tracky tackle for the heads down, all-night crowd.

Review: Kompakt is by now the grown up father figure of electronic labels, always serving up classy sounds that are artfully realised. For this one they turn to Cologne hometown hero Jonathan Kaspar for an excursion into meticulously crafted deep techno. It kicks off with the mechanical sounds and throbbing acid of 'Muster' that is all icy cold, but 'Alle' heads off to the cosmos with a heavily rated vocal sounding lie a sad robot's lament. 'Beton' is somewhere in between the too - polished metal and smoked out rhythms but with bite in the bass and static electricity fixing over the mix, then 'Heber' ends in transcendental fashion.
