  1. Broken Home (4:36)
  2. Love Is The Law (4:46)
  3. Rebels (4:30)
  4. So So (5:03)
Review: There's been plenty of hype surrounding this collaboration between Dogger, Mindstate and Liam Bailey on Alix Perez's on-point 1985 Music label. Listening to the tracks, it's easy to see why. The trio's style is effortlessly soulful and gorgeously sun-kissed, with solid rhythms and basslines being accompanied by glistening guitar flourishes, dreamy vocals, warm pianos and chords that push positivity from and centre. Highlights are plentiful throughout, from the lilting, reggae-tinged D&B soul of "Rebels" and sumptuous sweetness of "Broken Home" - all punchy drums, twinkling pianos, cinematic strings and tear-jerking vocals - to the slowly building, ultra-deep shuffle of "So So".

  3. Mechanism (4:53)
  4. Fibonacci Sequence (5:40)
Review: Last year, Ashley Tindall aka Skeptical treated us to his first full length, "Enjoy This Trip", and it ended up being one of the best bass music LPs of 2018. It's too early to tell whether "Fibonacci Sequence", his first outing since, will be a 2019 standout, but we can confirm that it's certainly impressive. Check first opener "Charge", a moody and razor-sharp D&B stepper full of metallic drum hits and elongated analogue bass before turning your attention to the experimental D&B/IDM fusion of "Snail Trail". The producer's quality threshold remains high on side B, where the bustling, stripped-back heaviness of "Mechanism" is followed by the creepy, atmospheric and surprisingly tribal title track.

  4. Sci-Fi Tramp (4:05)
Review: Fracture's uttered many a word of wisdom over the years, but this is perhaps his clearest manifesto to date: "Big Up The Ladies" is a schizoid rave jam with more twists than a wook's hairline and more turns than a driving test. It sets the tone for the rest of the exceptional EP; "Percussion Sweet" is a total turbo Berghain power jam, all vicious 4/4s and outrageously sharp stabs, "Verhoeven" is a slamming breakbeat cut with a bassline like treacle while "Sci-Fi Tramp" pays homage to your dad with more stampy kicks and a menacing sense of techno grunt. Outstanding stuff, as ever from Astrophonica's commander in chief.

  1. Beach Bum (6:53)
  2. Dred Sound (5:20)
Review: Glass in hand and bottle within easy reach, Dominic Angas - and his trusty Roland hardware - is ready to give us a taste of the good (Beach Bum) life. As you'd expect, the track itself is blessed with punchy, floor-pounding D&B drums and fuzzy, bowel bothering bass, but it's the other sonic elements he fixes to them - most notably some languid, Peter Green style electric guitar solos and the calming sound of lapping waves - that make the audio brew so potent. Given the track's intended Caribbean connections, it seems fitting that flipside "Dred Sound" is a bombastic stepper smothered in ragga MC vocal samples, paranoid noises and sub-bass so weighty that it could shake the foundations of even the sturdiest Jamaican rum warehouse.

Review: The Head Hunter is back! An early jungle protagonist and consistent boundary pusher, Tony Justice returns to his less-is-more Modern Urban Jazz imprint with a brand new crop of timelessness. "Fried" sets the scene, all amen guns blazing, a gritty bass oozing like treacle beneath and cosmic arpeggios. Straight out of the book of 95, it grabs you hook, line and stinker for the rest of the EP: From the mournful synth lines and classic breaks of "Late Night Sweep", those early rave pads of "Edge Of Space" to the jungle techno style 4/4 bumps and jazzy keys of "Melt", this is top shelf material. Let's hope more is in the pipeline very soon.

  1. Reaching Into My Brain (6:03)
  2. So Real (6:08)
Review: Moscow murkery! S.Kid follows the likes of Kid Lib, Tim Reaper and Dwarde with this outstanding Amenology debut. On the A side he asks us to delve into his cranial matter by way of glacial rush-riddled pads and savage breaks before a big sensual rave vocal softens the necksnap blow. On the B side he reminds us of the reality of the situation with the even choppier, bashier marching jam 'So Real'. Downpitched vocals, pranged out textures and a sub that's chubbier than a politician's wallet. Never miss a brain day.

  3. Vital Link - "Code 64" (4:31)
  4. Vital Link - "Jungle Life" (5:12)
Review: If bustling, bass-heavy jungle sweatiness is your thing, head this way. First released digitally way back in 2016, this joint EP from DJ Shadowplay and Vital Link offers up quartet of floor-pounding peak time anthems rich in unashamedly weighty sub bass, fizzing old school breakbeats and heady samples. The brew is arguably at its most potent on opener "The Box Remix", a raw and powerful revision of a track by fellow Kemet artist Human Being. The bass-weight and rhythmic pressure continues elsewhere on the EP, from the sampled Balearic guitars and insane beats-and-bass of "Man Child", to the overheard phone chat and aggressive bass of "Code 64" and Roy Ayers-sampling sunshine-jungle of "Jungle Life".

  4. Beliefs (bonus Beat) (4:39)
Review: Since re-launching three years ago, pioneering jungle imprint Kemet has offered up a mixture of unreleased '90s cuts, timely reissues and new tracks inspired by the formative years of drum & bass. This EP from long-serving contemporary producer Julian Flowers AKA Drama1 fits into the latter category, offering up four authentic jungle rollers that recall the Halcyon days of muddy outdoor raves powered by colossal soundsystems. Opener "Dub Fi Dub" is deliciously raw, weighty and loose like the best early jungle cuts, while "Eternity" pairs bombastic Amen breaks with long, elongated sub-bass. "Need For Love" sees Flowers doff a cap to early dreamy D&B tracks (with sun-kissed success), before "Beliefs (Bonus Beat)" closes proceedings with a heady mixture of silly samples, big breakbeats and even bigger sub-bass.
