Die Dunne Hand (4:37)
Auf Die Erde (6:25)
Die Augen Gehen (5:28)
Das Bild Das Wiederkehrt (5:52)
Review: Self-proclaimed "techno body music" duo Schwefelgelb seem a neat fit with Cititrax, the Minimal Wave sub-label set up to handle contemporary electronic music rather than reissues. There's something particularly muscular, robust and otherworldly about their label debut, which remarkably is their first EP of original tracks for two years. Opener "Die Dunne Hand" sets the tone, with the pair conjuring up a throbbing, mind-altering EBM-funk workout that sounds like an unlikely Nitzer Ebb cover version of the KLF's "What Time Is Love", while "Auf Die Erde" sees them wrap crunchy percussion and dystopian vocal snippets around a surging EBM bassline. Side B begins with the stripped-back metallic mutant funk of "Die Augen Gehen", before the duo dives into chugging, flash-fried industrial/electro/techno fusion on the mind-bending "Das Blid Das Wiederkehrt".

It's Time (5:10)
Forum (5:03)
Euphoria In Ginza (4:49)
No Romantic (4:55)
Review: Time Passages boss Binh is a big fan of Innershades. Last year he brought the Belgian producer to the label for the very first time and here offers up another four tracks from the rave-loving rising star. He hits the ground running with "It's Time", a warehouse-ready throb-job full of new beat riffs and creepy electronics, before offering up another funky Euro techno cut that sounds like it could have been played at an after-party in 1990 ("Forum"). Elsewhere, "Euphoria In Ginza" is a deliciously chiming and melodious breakbeat-house workout, while "No Romantic" is another retro-futurist romp full of squelchy synth bass and rushing, turn-of-the-90s style nostalgic riffs.

MDM Anal (7:01)
Don't Get Caught (5:54)
Acid Royale (6:50)
Go Skiiing (5:03)
Review: All hail the return of our goal-scoring squelch lord, Roy Of The Ravers. Kicking the grass up back where he belongs on Acid Waxa, the modern acid hero sounds as crucial as ever on this cheeky EP. "MDM Anal" is a sludgy cut revolving around a bloated bass arp and really simple kick-clap beat. "Don't Get Caught" ramps up the 303 action for some smart acid jack with a little extra spring in its step. "Acid Royale" is more of an epic saga for those who like a sense of narrative with their jack, in this case coming on like a late-'80s role-playing book. Rolling the dice and turning to the B2, we're confronted with the simultaneously gorgeous and unhinged "Go Skiing", which sounds like it could stack it on a mogul at any moment.

Don't Do It Like That (instrumental) (5:33)

No Statues (5:00)
Review: During their time as Nexus 21, Altern-8 pair Mark Archer and Chris Peat were given the opportunity to head to Detroit and record with some of their techno heroes, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May included. "Made In Detroit" presents these rare and significant recordings for the first time, offering a suite of tracks that fix UK-style bleep melodies (all the rage in late 1989/early 1990) to the kind of fizzing rhythms, warm bass and futuristic electronics then popular in the Motor City. There are two versions of house-tempo standout "Don't Do It Like That" (one with a whispered lead vocal by Ann Saunderson), while the clanking and metallic "Nexus" and more ghostly "No Statues" accurately fuse the best bits of both British and American techno at the time.

Subradeon - "A New Sun Is Rising" (5:25)
Subradeon - "The Light" (5:26)
Review: Hardgroove continues its productive run in the fiercer realms of techno science with a showcase of two utterly essential artists picked from the current crop. Mella Dee is sounding absolutely on fire on "01302", which comes in two distinct but equally brilliant versions. With both, strict rhythmic structures work as a vessel for insanely catchy synth riffs as tasteful as they are infectious - scene-stealing techno at its finest. Subradeon brings a hefty dose of Robert Hood-flavoured minimal funk to "A New Sun Is Rising", and does it supremely well. "The Light" follows a similarly looped up path, but here the synth line is a more fluid rush that gives the track a softer landing without losing its imposing stature. This is big room tackle with brains to match the brawn.

Do The Du - "Peckham" (7:43)
Review: Naked Eye People's Stealth Mission series continues apace with this latest sure shot of techno tricksters to get you jacking in all the best ways. I Love Acid flag-bearer Posthuman is up first with "Rejektacid", a pepped up 303 burner with a sharply executed drum machine backbone. Naked Eye People's "Balsa Wood Blues" follows up with a hopped up take on dub techno that merges with breakbeat to create something ravey yet ultimately trippy. HVL adopts his Kiyadama alias for "Slammbeat", which gets dutifully edited into shape by Ben Sims. Do The Du finish things off with some truly gnarly acid from the nightmare realm.

Keppel - "Taken For Granted" (6:38)
Henry Greenleaf - "Snide" (4:59)
Formant Value - "Polycausa" (7:03)
Review: Well Street keep up the heat as one of the most inventive labels operating in the liminal space between techno, dub and rhythmic mysticism. These various artist releases are also a perfect introduction to some essential new talent, and that's clear from the off with the snaking, echo chamber pressure of Box 5ive. Keppel's "Taken For Granted" is a distinctive slice of crooked 21st century soul that sports a whiff of early Kimbie / Blake in the vocals and overall attitude. Henry Greenleaf's "Snide" is a taut drum track that teases as much as it delivers, and Formant Value trips out into a meditative soundscape of pattering percussion and spacious atmospherics.

Review: Although he first appeared on Tresor back in 2011, "Trust" still marks Roger Semsroth AKA Sleeparchive's first full-length excursion for the legendary German imprint. More surprisingly, it's also his first album to appear on wax. It's a forthright, all-action affair with Semsroth peppering high-tempo, lo-fi techno beats with a variety of unsettling, creepy and mind-altering musical loops. This is fiendishly heavy club techno that takes no prisoners, though there's enough variety and melodic flashes to keep most listeners happy. Check for example the alien bleeps of deeper rub "Leave", the panicked and breathless industrial techno chase of "Fence" and the noisy, ear-pulverising insanity of "Concrete", a track that's as weighty and dense as its title suggests.

Review: Last year Anunaku debuted on Whities with an essential EP of tribal-infused breakbeat bass music and clanking, speaker-bothering Afro-techno. It was an insanely good debut and this follow-up on 3024 is every bit as impressive. Restless African hand percussion, intergalactic electronics, spacey riffs and tactile house beats combine brilliantly on A-side "Stargate", while fiendishly heavy flipside opener "Teleported" is a wicked mix of crunchy breakeats, elongated hoover bass, tight vocal stabs and mind-altering snake charmer solos. Closing cut "Atlas4088" meanwhile is a locked-in Afro-techno drum track with just the right amount of ethereal flute sounds.

It comes after 10 years of hard hitting DJ sets and productions on labels like Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is packed from to back with rib-rattling, foundation-shaking techno. There are raw jack tracks like "Acid Conversion 5", deep but frenzied bangers like "Craig's Wee Sweet Shop" and mechanical melodic explorations like "Approach It Like A '90s DnB Banger". As always, he serves up thrilling, hard hitting techno that has you clenching both your fists and your teeth as you buckle in for the white knuckle ride. "Switchblade" kicks off with distorted drums and urgent synth stabs that race along at 100 miles an hour. "Mutant Force" is just that with its tortured synths and surging drums, then burn out offers a dystopian take on mind warping Mills-ian techno. There is slightly deeper, warmer stuff on the flipside that carries you to the very fringes of the galaxy.

Review: The always visceral techno craftsman Yan Cook is back with more big room destruction. He steps away from his usual Delsin home to land on the Ukrainian hotbed Cooked. "Counterclockwise" is a thrilling track with hammering kicks and electrifying synths tying the groove in knots. "Abstract" is dark and even more twisted, with kicks so big they will crumble the foundations of any club. The busy, dense and complex styles continues on the rave "Tidal Disruption" before "Noiser" sinks into a more hypnotic and stripped back groove. Review: Calypso are back with another clutch of exciting mavericks orbiting the weirder end of the contemporary club spectrum. There are minimal wave influences to be tacitly detected on Nicola Cruz's "Tu Recuerdo" as well as kind of stripped back acid freakiness, while in FE's "Tarde O Temprano" there's even more gritty, industrial tinged bite in the billowing surges of machine rhythms. Quixosis takes some wonderfully lilting traditional percussion and gives it a freaky treatment which makes for the kind of slow jam Weatherall would have wielded with aplomb. NTFL finishes this ear-snagging compilation off with the plaintive, Dembow-tinted "Vacio".

Review: Butter Sessions stalwarts Sleep D have been growing stronger with every passing year it seems. Their brand of classically informed but contemporarily kinked techno is a smart fit for D. Tiffany's Planet Euphorique label, following hot on the heels of the knockout LP from Roza Terenzi. There's cavernous, slimy techno, bleepy warm-up rave, beastly electro punch and disjointed broken rhythms aplenty, all loaded with character and delivered with a sharp instinct for potent club workouts. "Imposible Materia" offers up his first new material since and is similarly impressive. Head first for "Lost", a bustling, all-action affair rich in fizzing riffs, weird noises, classic Motor City chords and wiggly acid lines, before losing yourself in the hypnotic, minor key motifs, broken techno beats and unsettling stabs of "DX100". Negative Space (Multiple Man Sniffing Anxiety remix) (6:20)
Review: Mondowski lands on Snap Crackle & Pop with the wonderful hybrid track "Sholay", which has a whiff of electroclash mixed with spookier gothic influences and something a little more transcendental. As such, it's easy to picture this track getting love in all kinds of darkened corners of the dance. "Negative Space" is a more overtly clubby track, all nervy rhythm twitches and low-frequency synth grind with a generous dose of minimal wave influence at its core. It's no surprise to see the ever-prolific Kris Baha dropping a slick industro-sleaze version of "Sholay", while Multiple Man's "Sniffing Anxiety" take on "Negative Space" is just as essential for those who can't pack enough grimy club grinders into their bag.

Now the Scottish deep techno voyager stops by Alpengluhen for four meditations on subliminal, richly atmospheric machine music that plays out with cinematic poise and introspection to spare. The drum jack pressure is real on "No Drama", which also sports a wonderfully psychoactive synth line to wriggle into your nerve endings with potent results. Mor Elian does a killer job on the remix too, chopping up the groove to create some dynamic syncopation around that nagging synth hook. "Loose Fit" and "Hand Of Eris" on the flip keep up the percussive pressure, but there's also plenty of character rubbed into these rhythmic ripples to make it far more than a set of DJ tools.

Review: All hail the return of Etapp Kyle. For over 10 years this ever-intriguing producer has been orbiting the Ostgut Ton axis, from Ben Klock's label to Unterton and lastly Ostgut Ton itself back in 2017. After some time away, Kyle is back with a new EP that was wholly worth the wait. "Nolove" is a dreamy, fractured slice of techno abstraction with insanely detailed production chops, while "Unseen" opens things up with some more forthright drums that move like a more linear take on the Shackleton sound. "Polar" thrums and pulses with sound design as much as beats, but the icy atmospheric swirls are the star of the show. "Eden" strips things back with a beautiful, plaintive electronica finisher that keeps percussion to a minimum and focuses on gossamer synth lines to melt away to.

Review: Kalahari Oyster Cult tends to prioritize new music, though when boss man Colin Volvert does unearth an overlooked gem he has no hesitation in reissuing it. The "Systems EP", a multi-artist extravaganza that launched obscure Denver label Terraform Records way back in 1995, is one such gem. The A-side boasts a trio of varied but consistently good cuts from ambient techno explorer Red Shift (think acid-fired electro psychedelia, drowsy early morning bliss and picturesque downtempo goodness), while the flipside boasts a track apiece from three different producers. Ether's "Detonator" sounds like peak Meat Beat Manifesto (all razor-sharp acid lines, heavy bass and infectious breaks), Escape Artist's "Rain Eternal" is a languid electronica treat, and Constants Of Nature's "Slow Symmetry Breaking" is a woozy drift through outer space ambient.

It also happens to be the first album in four years by the Inimeg boss and his most personal work to date, where his emotional vocals can be heard atop deeply meditative jams like "Beside Me", and likewise on the woozy and knackered groove of "Ocean" accompanied by washes of live analogue synth riffs. Further hypnotism awaits on the bass-driven echo mania of "Live It" and the life-affirming elation of "Cindy" - being another fine example of Anderson's penchant for truly spiritual music. Highly recommended.

"Little Blue Corvette", their first single for two years, is strong, with the long-serving TB-303 abusers offering up two tried-and-tested peak-time cuts. There are no new Area tracks here though, but rather a quartet of fresh reworks of classic cuts. Natan H kicks off proceedings with a deep, hypnotic, trippy and undeniably wonky revision of "Dare To Be Different", before Leif weighs in with a deliciously melodious, soft-focus revision of picturesque track "The Face Yours Reminds Me Of". Benjamin Brunn takes over on Side B and delivers two contrasting versions on "Effortlessness": the deep, wayward electro-meets-dub house drowsiness of the "Gold Plated Diamonds" mix and the heady ambient techno brilliance of the "Chrome Plated Diamonds" mix.
