Review: The Revolutionaries were named The Revolutionaries because dub music is itself resistant and defiant. Specifically, dub resists colonial English powers by staunchly remaining 'rooted' in tradition. Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare knew this, so rather than simply being absorbed into the system, they chose to bleed it out from the inside. 'The Outlaw', the band's 21st LP, describes the kind of internal revolution dub brings to all minds and hearts. All tunes on The Outlaw describe the interior condition of most dub artists, who truly operate outside the law.
