Review: The Grass Roots EP is the only 12" from Radiq latest album "Tomorrow's Quest" released early 2006. The single "The Grass Roots" is originally written & produced by Radiq (aka Yoshihiro Hanno) and Dominican legend Paul St. Hilaire, this EP includes 3 reinterpretations of the track by Akufen (Musique Risquée, Canada), Dimbiman (Perlon, Germany) and Radiq himself. Radiq's Babylon dub mix uses house and groovy hypnotic dub. Akufen's funk sight favours the acoustic side, a super high class production remix made up in a seventies atmosphere. The B-side is dedicated to Thomas Franzman aka Zip or Dimbiman, master of the great Perlon label. His remix adds to a minimal and tricky rhythm with a very good application of Paul St. Hilaire's voice. Tip!

Review: We can always rely on Ornaments to deliver the best in quality house music and 2012 was another important milestone for the label. Their last EP sees label favourite, Rhauder go head to head with on of the most charismatic voices in house and techno - Mr.Paul St Hilaire, famously known for his work with Rhythm & Sound and its sub-label, Burial Mix. The original is actually reminiscent of the Basic Channel tradition, with those long, sweltering chunks of percussion flowing so neatly along side St Hilaire's enigmatic voice. The dub version is even deeper and indulgent in its delay tradition - exactly what we want to see here! The Pop-a-dub mix is an absolute gem though, allowing those drums to release themselves from the torrent of reverb and tape echo and grind their way to the sound of those gorgeous dub vocals.

Review: R&S continues to combine deep house influences with disco dub vibes. The result is again a deep pulsating, pure groove. Again Paul St Hilaire 'Nices up the place' with his melancholic vocals. A dub version is provided on the B-Side.

Review: 'Find A Way' is a perfect match to the high quality standards of deep house tracks represented on Main Street. Paul St. Hilaire's voice is approved by now and is well known for his vocal on some Burial Mix releases. A killer instrumental version is featured on the B-side.

Review: At the third release on their deep house division Basic Channel keeps introducing new singers. Paul St Hilaire brings in a refreshing reggae flavour to the rather classic deep house set-up. The main vocal mix one A-side is allied with an instrumental on the B-side that reminiscent of Maurizio or Basic Channel releases.

Review: With the initial release of his own label Paul St Hilaire goes public with his song writing and production skills. The sound is electronic reggae orientated but less puristic than the Rhythm & Sound productions. The B-side features a breakbeat-ish grooving tune and shows the broad musical interest of Paul St Hilaire.
