Review: A quirky new ambient electro follow-up to the 'Quadrifonia' V/A from Positive Not Happy, with wicked contributions from The Lumens, AT, Floog and Paradise City Breakers. From the jump, we're hit with bursty bright arps and hard-hitting kicks on 'Transformazione'; gurgling, bitcrushed, yoying groundswells on 'Ga Ga'; lo-fi ruminative movements verging on speed garage with 'Deviate'; and creative, dynamic future swellups on 'The Butterfly Man'. Mostly breezy, hardly cheesy.

Empateia (6:44)
Howerdose (5:43)
This Was Intense (6:37)
Review: The Italian-based Paradise City Breakers take the honor of being the first release by the new label Exxtra Beats. Sweet Sound and Harmonies features four tracks that showcase the artist's eclectic style, ranging from progressive house to techno. The EP opens with the title track, a dreamy and pulsating piece that sets the tone for the rest of the release. The groove is hypnotic and infectious as the robot voice urges you on. 'Empateia' follows, with a catchy piano riff and heavy 90s UK influence. 'Howerdose' is a more electro track, with its eerie keys and darker rhythms that stand out well when played. Things close with 'This Was Intense', a high-energy techno track that leaves the listener wanting more. Overall, Sweet Sound and Harmonies is a very memorable EP that is sure to work well with the old-school crowd. The artist's unique style and ability to blend different genres is clear throughout the release. This is an artist to watch in the future.

Seeking Treasures
Review: Italian trio Paradise City Breakers are hardly prolific - this return to Discarded Gems is just their third EP since emerging in 2020 - but their slim catalogue is packed to the rafters with artful and club-ready gems. They hit the ground running this time round with title track 'Televised Justice', a throbbing, undulating roller built around smooth house drums, Italo-disco style arpeggio bass and spacey melodies, before opting for a more trippy and sub-heavy retro-futurist sound on 'Lekkerbit', where intergalactic electro style lead lines catch the ear. Over on side two, 'P City Vice' is a chunky workout full of deep bass and psychedelic TB-303 acid lines, while 'Seeking Treasure' is a breezy, bleeping tonight full of vintage 80s synth sounds and sonic sci-fi daydreaming.
