Time Guard (Jesse Perez remix) (6:08)
Time Guard (East End dubs remix) (7:36)
Review: That Lazare Hoche super sharp shooter is back with two choice remixes of his bomb "Time Guard" which dropped to much acclaim last year. First up on the buttons is Jesse Perez, who gets busy with some dusty funk licks strapped to a crisply programmed break before blowing the roof off with a soaring melodic injection guaranteed to incite blissed-out reverie all over the floor. East End Dubs takes a very different approach, jacking up the machine rhythms and weaving reams of bugging synth lines in and out of the groove for a dynamic electro-stepper that should go down a treat with future-minded party people.

Time Guard (Archie Hamilton) (8:35)
Time Guard (Noha remix) (7:54)
Review: Following the hot off the press drop "Time Guard", Lazare Hoche taps up a pair of remixers to provide fresh angles on his latest transmission. First up is Moscow Records' Archie Hamilton, who whips up a propulsive, bubbling techno roller laden with lush melodic content. On the flip, regular Hamilton collaborator Noha serves up a twinkling, mysterious strutter that should sink under the skin nice and easy in the late morning sessions Lazare Hoche records are so well suited to. Using spooky off key synth licks and a steady ticking beat, Noha provides a worthwhile new twist on the original's vintage techno sound.

Time Guard (7:34)
Maths (7:34)
Review: To date we've not been treated to a solo outing from Lazare Hoche - he's most commonly spotted alongside fellow deep house operative Malin Genie, but now he's going it alone with two cuts of assured groovers suited to the hazier hours of a 4/4 throwdown. "Time Guard" is a swooning beauty of a track buoyed by gorgeous synth strings and a nagging groove. "Maths" is a more forthright, club-focused affair that places all the emphasis on sharp, funked up drum machine beats, but there's still a chill in the air that keeps the track firmly rooted in the deep end.

Lazare Hoche & Malin Génie - "Formes"

Lazare Hoche & Malin Génie - "Session 2"
Unit T - "Mystery Tones"
Mandar - "Fouad"
Review: Lazare Hoche doesn't release that much music, but what he does put out is invariably excellent. Following a smattering of singles and an acclaimed collaborative album alongside Malin Genie - 2013's I Don't Sync So Volume II - he's decided to put together a compilation featuring his own productions and those by music industry mates. Access, then, is a lesson in warm and luscious deep house, with significant contributions coming from Luke Solomon (donning the Jean Caffeine guise on the dreamy and rolling "Jean Afterthought"), DJ Gregory's Point G project (the ultra-deep pulse of "La Lampe Du Vizir Adjane"), and pals Skymaster and Mandal. Hoche's own contributions rank amongst the compilation's highlights, with the title track delivering a pitch-perfect lesson in the seductive powers of dreamy, dust-encrusted deep house.

Deep Again
NMS
Review: ***B-STOCK: Sleeve damaged, but otherwise in excellent condition***

Lazare Hoche and Malin Genie join forces for a sublime trip through psychoactive tech house that edges away from minimal and into a more colourful, analogue headspace. 'Deep Again' revels in swooping pad swells and rounded lead hooks, of course strapped to one of those impeccably executed four-to-the-floor beats. 'NMS' jacks things up with a punchy synth line and snappy claps that are perfectly honed for the peak time, but there's still a luxuriant melancholy lingering behind the rhythm section thanks to more spacious atmospherics. This is as classy as tech house gets, but what else did you expect from two operators in their absolute prime?

Damn Near Made It
Review: Originally released in 2012 on a single 12", Lazare Hoche and Malin Genie's I Don't Sync So Part 1 finds itself the subject of a very deserving reissue, this time spreading the five tracks across two slabs of vinyl instead of the original one disc. If you missed out first time around there's no excuse not to partake, especially with the crucial vocal house of "Pressure Baby", '80s-influenced hip house rhythms of "Oh! Snap", New Jersey garage style "My Love For You" and deep, dark and driving organ house of "Naive" all sounding as fresh and relevant as they did two years ago.

The AR Track (12:00)
The GB Track (11:55)
Review: REPRESS ALERT: Big time modern deep house dons Lazare Hoche and S.A.M. team up for this new label Perfect Pushup, which from the outset seems to be dealing in some pretty big time edit business. On the A side, they've taken on evergreen Arthur Russell delight "In The Light Of The Miracle" - hallowed ground no doubt, but the team approach with care and tease some additional minutes and a little more oomph out of this beauty of a track. It's harder to ID "The GB Track" on the flip, but it matters not one bit as the endless flow of woozy, tastefully cut up funk spills out over 12 minutes.

Seascape (13:02)
Compas (5:39)
Belhara (7:10)
Review: Parisian smooth groovers Lazare Hoche team up with Traumer to deliver this fresh transmission of subliminal minimal house from the heart of the French underground. "Seascape" is a perfectly measured trip through shimmering synth pulses and a hypnotic rhythmic tick, contrasting neatly with the weighty thump of "Compas" which opens up the B-side. "Belhara" closes the record out with some gorgeous ambient melodic threads that flirt around a pumped up beat that counts among the most uptempo work that has been put out on Lazare Hoche. It's another classy addition to the label's catalogue, sure to find favour with scores of the minimal house fraternity.

Unit T - "Mystery Tones"

Review: REPRESS ALERT: Parisian deep house hero Lazare Hoche compiles a brilliant selection to be released on his very own imprint and it's got some real treasures from the underground... so pay attention! The very rare 1998 underground classic by Luke Solomon "Jean Afterthought" will no doubt be one of the most sought after tracks on here, as well has Roy Davis & DJ Skull's remix of Modal's "Lovers" from 1996. Other delights include DJ Gregory aka .g's "La Lampe Du Vizir Adjane", Mark Ambrose aka Skymaster's "Final Link" from 1998 and Unit T's "Mystery Tones" an underground Chicago classic from 1995. There's some seriously hot new jams too by Hoche himself with Malin Genie, particularly the sleek and bumpin' "Formes" and Mandar's super deep "Mouad".

Chris Mitchell - "Parallel Symbiotic" (7:09)
Lowris - "C_crete" (6:09)
Matthew Herbert - "Earthenware" (6:32)
Lazare Hoche - "Spank" (6:39)
Review: Having previously paid tribute to afternoon shuffling and late night raving, Concrete Music here pays tribute to the joys of daybreak dancing. They've assembled an impressive cast-list of producers to join them in early morning sun worship, with Matthew Herbert's eccentric, melodious "Earthenware" the house equivalent of a 21st century pagan ritual fuelled by happy pills. There's a similarly overpowering blissfulness about the tactile deep house goodness of Chris Mitchell's tech-tinged "Parallel Symbiotic". Not to be outdone, Lazare Hoche weighs in with "Spank", a woozy, dreamy deep house cut so fuzzy and life affirming that it should come with a health warning.
