Time To Shine EP
Cat: SAFT 10. Rel: 16 Oct 15
Deep House
  1. Limits (6:22)
  2. Electronic Side (8:12)
  3. Time To Shine (feat Paula King) (7:01)
  4. Time To Shine (Vincent Floyd remix) (7:17)
Review: Four Walls has been pushing house music in all the right directions since his debut in 2012, most notably landing on the Traxx Underground label, alongside DJ Steaw and the Nathaniel X Project. This time around he's on Spain's SAFT label, and he's got a bunch of luscious, dusty house groovers to warm up your evenings. "Limits" is docile and gentle, a real house massage, and "Electronic Slide", as the name suggests, is a playful little deep house tune for the warm up sets. On the B-side, there's the more soulful swings of "Time To Shine", featuring Paula King's lovely vocal charm, and a Vincent Floyd remix to push the tune into outer space and into off-kilter mode. Lovely.

You Know Me EP
Cat: TU 004. Rel: 09 Sep 15
Deep House
  1. You Know Me
  2. You Know Me (Glenn Underground SJU Summer Ends mix)
  3. 7655
  4. Open Heart
Review: It's clear from the first beat that the "deep sounding" decree of Italian imprint Traxx Underground is inspired by the classic house musicians and machines of the early 80s and 90s. The title track "You Know Me" is a quintessential retrospective house music gem with a luscious and simplistic chord progression, subtle leads and suitability placed rim shots for extra groove. Glenn Underground's "SJU Summer Ends mix" substitutes shakers for piano keys, pushing the originals chords further into the background as synthy bubbles and lounge time vibes take over. If the moment is right, you could easily find yourself listening to "7655" by a head rolling Theo Parrish at the controls, whereas "Open Heart" brings 2013 house music back to its basic 90s essentials, only this time adding reverberating flutes.

Observe The Heavens EP
Cat: EMH 002. Rel: 16 Apr 15
Deep House
  1. Constellations (6:54)
  2. Across The Ocean (6:12)
  3. Techride (5:56)
  4. African People (7:10)
Review: Four Walls, or otherwise known as Mihail Shvaikovski is an up and coming house producer who has appeared on Traxx Underground and a number of other labels thus far. This time around he lands on Eat More House with a seductive and laid-back house four-tracker for the deep moments. From "Constellations" to "African People", there's a distinctly jazzy sound around his beats and basslines, our favourite of the lot being "Techride", an acid-leaning late night beast with a driving groove and one mean mass hook. Let's eat more house!

Cat: KLRLTD 015. Rel: 04 Feb 15
Deep House
  1. Jazzy Things
  2. His Name Is Eddie
  3. Love Train
  4. From Us
Review: The vinyl only Kolour Ltd operation dip their toes in the rich pool of house music talent currently bubbling away in Russia, welcoming Grodno based pair Four Walls & Funkyjaws into the fold on their first 12" of 2014. Four tracks deep, One Night In Grodno demonstrates this pair have a firm and diverse production grasp of what's classified as underground deep house. Check the mad sax solo that breaks free on opening cut "Jazzy Things" Listen on "His Name Is Fast Eddie" reveals Four Walls and Funkyjaws find it difficult not to let their musical side take hold, though the understated diva flex of "Love Train" might be the best cut here.

Triple Stakes EP
Cat: SM12 006. Rel: 04 Feb 15
Deep House
  1. Four Walls & Funkyjaws - "Bring Me To Space"
  2. Four Walls & Funkyjaws - "Bring Me To Space" (Saine remix)
  3. Saine - "Daze"
  4. Saine - "Daze" (Four Walls & Funkyjaws remix)
Review: Shadeleaf Music boss Thatmanmonkz has decided to do a little musical matchmaking on this release. It features original material from both Belarusian duo Four Walls & Funkyjaws, and Helsinki-based Saine, with each act also remixing the other's track. Four Walls and Funkyjaws' "Bring Me To Space" lives up to its name, lacing boogie-influenced synth melodies atop intergalactic chords and a loose and jazzy deep house groove. Saine opts for a more hypnotic, locked-in vibe on his sumptuous remix of the same track. He gets a little more expansive on his own "Saine Daze" - whilst retaining the slightly blazed feel associated with his productions - before the Eastern European pair weigh in with a slightly jauntier revision that wisely makes great use of Saine's sensual synths and soul-flecked chords.
