Review: DJ Fresh is a legend at this point. Whenever he drops new heat it is worth tuning in, especially when it's a 12" picture disc like this from Breakbeat Koas. The A-side is a collab with Buunshin. 'Dancing In the Dark' is a hardcore gem with pitched-up vocals and monstrous breaks over spin backs, raw bass and thrilling synth lacerations. Then comes an AMC Remix of DJ Fresh's 'Heavyweight' that is just that. It rides on silky breakbeats with a rising sense of tension that keeps you locked until the explosive bass and jump-up drum head to the level.

Review: "Acid Rain" is one of the more incendiary moments from Kryptonite, the superb sophomore outing from ex-Bad Company member, Breakbeat Kaos co-owner and all round D&B superstar, DJ Fresh. It's a rollicking, rolling number with crazed vocodered vox, electro-tinged energy and soaring, peak time synths. Flip over for the discordant, high pitched screeching of "Fight", which comes replete with some wonderfully contradictory opera samples.

Touching on a range of styles, from "Talkbox" with it's crazy vocodered vox and electro-tinged energy, through sugar sweet rave anthem "Gold Dust" to Peruvian dubstepping "Chacruna" and the discordant, high pitched screeching of "Fight", it's a rollercoaster ride of dancefloor driven emotions. Review: Covering all bases here Breakbeat Kaos enlist remixer du jour Jakwob to provide the requisite bassline wobble and crunching half step recipe to "Lassitude", DJ Fresh's impossibly fun collaboration with London drum and bass troupe Sigma. Discarding with the majority of the original's winning qualities save for Koko's distinctive vocals, Jakwob lays down a bed of emotive chords and synth squiggles upon which a snapping block rhythm bites into with glee. Sigma provide a VIP remix on the flip for the drum and bass purists.
