  1. Your Love (feat Beckford)
  2. Your Love (Trus'me Your Love Takes Time remix)
  3. Your Love (Steve O'Sullivan remix)
Review: Active as a record releasing producer for a decade, James 'Burnski' Burnham has credits for a wide variety of labels in his discography, gracing everyone from Boe to Hot Creations. Constant Sound is a new label from the man, set up with Jon Woodall, Burnski's production partner as Constant. Music from Cab Drivers, Kris Wadsworth, A Scott, and Richard Rowell is promised over the coming months but it's a solo record from Burnski that kicks matters off with Your Love. A collaboration with vocalist Beckford, "Your Love" is one of those insistent, driving house cuts with dashes of acid to it and it's complemented by remixes from Prime Numbers man Trus'me and Mosaic boss Steve O'Sullivan who take the cut in markedly different directions. A solid start for Constant Sound!

  3. Stand Still
Review: Massive tech house number from UK's newest prodigy Burnski. On this EP Exquisite Music puts together all the skills this young producer has shown on his previous releases on labels like Infant, Trapez or Morris Audio. "Flight" is a techy dancefloor stormer, while "Girls" and "Stand Still" are pure deep house pearls. All the tracks are having outstanding support by Trentemoller, LocoDice, The Timewriter, Jerome Sydenham, amongst others.

Deep House
  1. The Hours (original)
  2. Visions
  3. Movement
  4. Time (feat Beckford)
Review: Former Leeds resident Burnski has been surprisingly quiet this year. In fact, this purple vinyl 12" for Tomoki Takuri's Holic Trax label - famed for releases from Dan Curtin, Rick Wade and Mr. G, amongst others - is his first release of 2014. Happily, he's on good form, laying down a series of largely deep house focused cuts variously influenced by early Belgian techno (the bass-heavy pump of acid chugger "The Hours", whose bassline recalls the likes of Jaydee and Joey Beltram), soul-flecked tech-house (the undulating electronics and yearning vocal samples of "Visions") and hustling, post-acid house (stand-out "Time", featuring the seductive vocals of Beckford).

Review: England's own Burnski has a way about him. Always putting out quality tech house that’s generally simple, but never boring. For this one, entitled 'Very Basic' for Soundplant, we can hear a lot of influences from early Luke Solomon type stuff.

  1. Headlandmad
  2. Board & Lodge
  3. Get Dum
Review: "Headlandmad", New school meets old school Chicago house - clicky beats, Chicago stylee keys, buzzy leads all make this into a primetime Burnski production. Pure and simply, quality house music. Stripped down, deep and chuggy is the order of the day here. Percussive parts flying in here, there and everywhere. "Board & Lodge" builds and builds into a great solid late night deep groove. Head nodding tackle this one. Nice old school feel to it with the sounds of today! Clicky, glitchy noises with super warm production make "Get Dum" a great finish to this EP. Burnski is back with another hot release. The 20 year old is pressing all the right buttons here. 3 tracks all with their own individual unique Burnski twist. He is making very mature music for his age. "All of these tunes are fat as fuck. This guy is frighteningly good and is leading the way for the new wave of UK producers" - Tom Neville.

Review: Burnski's ' Monkey Hanging EP', on Boe Recordings, boasts a sublime threesome starting with the
marvellous title track, which oozes deep house class as it motors along on a simple but deadly
riff, goosed by early 90's nu groove style chords and jazzy squiggles to intoxicating effect.

Review: Burnski brings it on home with a new drop for his label Constant Black, showcasing that chunky, dynamic tech house sound that he's made his own for decades now. From the driving immersion of "Process" to the skeletal machine funk of "Systems" and on to the rabble-rousing jack of "Long Train", this is Burnski doing what Burnski does best. He switches stance for EP closer "Effect", which brings a beautiful dub techno variation to this classy 12" with the inimitable voice of Paul St. Hilaire ringing out amidst the metallic chords and subby bass.

  1. Circuits (7:11)
  2. X (7:04)
  3. Flight 723 (7:33)
  4. Lost In Translation (7:07)
Review: After the success of his debut album, Burnski returns to Constant Sound with a 4 tracker designed for the dance floor. "Circuits" opens this new EP - for his own Constant Sound label - with a fiery, electrifying procession of telly drums and fidgety percussion folds, and this is stripped back even further on the magnetic banger entitled "X". Over on the B-side, "Flight 723" aptly takes us on a deeper journey, filled with mysterious synths tricks and imperceptible pad sounds, while "Lost In Translation" clicks away to a more familiar minimal tone, rounded off and sleeked into motion by deep, wondrous gleams of dubbiness.

  6. Advanced Knowledge (6:48)
  7. Cosmic Warfare (4:50)
  8. State Of Panic (5:24)
  9. Callisto (8:21)
Review: Although James Burnham aka Burnski has been producing house by the truckload since the mid 00s, DNA is his first LP to date, and it lands courtesy of his own Constant Sound imprint. Across labels like Trapez, 20:20 Vision, and even Poker Flat Recordings, this dude has always stuck to what he does best regardless of passing trends or styles, and that is making quality, tech-driven dance music. Now, make no mistake, this album is still a collection of dance floor scorchers, but the nine tunes make sense next to each other, and they go way beyond the four-to-the-floor remit. There's some swinging garage blazers like "Another Source", hard and progressive house such as "Advanced Knowledge", and even a bit of dirty electro on bangers like "Cosmic Warfare". This is pure quality throughout, and makes for a big step up in Burnski's career. Dope.

  4. Daydreamer (7:02)
Review: Burnski's Constant Sound label keeps on trucking with this prime cut of crystalline tech-house for the more discerning heads. Lead track "Faith" is a feisty little groover, threading a wealth of field recordings and playful synth flourishes in between the fundamental rhythm section. "Get Up" has a freakier micro house bump to it that harks back to Burnski's Trapez days, while "Vertigo" does a marvelous job of spinning ones head right out with all manner of quivering synth tones. "Daydreamer" takes things a touch deeper to finish the record off with some crafty percussion, woozy melodic swells and immersive chord throbs in the lower register.

  3. Another Source (original) (5:41)
  4. I Like You (Laura Jones remix) (5:59)
Review: Burnski's debut album DNA dropped on Constant Sound last year, and now the label have called upon a strong cast of characters to do the remix duty on some of the LP's key tracks. Parisian trio Mandar bring a heart-melting tone to "Another Source" without losing their insistent shuffle, while Diego Krause strips things down with a functional broth of minimal minded business. The original mix of "Another Source" gets a fresh outing, and very fine it sounds too. That leaves it to Laura Jones to twist out a hypnotic electro version of "I Like You".

Minimal/Tech House
  1. Changes (feat Beckford) (6:09)
  2. Changes (Kris Wadsworth Puberty remix - Vinyl Only) (6:56)
  3. Changes (Deadbeat remix) (6:45)
Review: Riding high on the success of a second release that introduced A-Scott & Chad to the Constant Sound fold, the third instalment finds Burnski back in the saddle to offer up "Changes", getting into a more techno-oriented frame of mind without losing that warmth and playful sensibility he has made his own over the years.
After strong remixes from Trus'me, Steve O'Sullivan and Cab Drivers on previous releases, Constant Sound 003 gives another opportunity for the label to call upon the finest in the business to reinterpret the original material.
In keeping with the heads-down workout tones of Burnski's original, it makes perfect sense to invite an artist as accomplished as Deadbeat up for a remix. Scott Monteith has long been a stellar example of how to push dub techno in thrilling new directions and it shows on his version of "Changes".
Kris Wadsworth has just as much to say for himself after years spent crafting heavyweight house and techno with a mercenary instinct matched by lashings of machine soul. He reduces the original track into a stripped down techno dub perfect for late at night. His remix will only be available on the vinyl.
It's yet another step forwards for a label committed to delivering nothing but the highest quality house and techno for those who seek a touch more depth from their music.

  3. Malibu (Jamie Jones Music Night mix)
Review: Hot Creations follow up the all conquering Lee Foss twelve inch with an equally impressive collaborative EP between Robert James and 20:20 Vision's Burnski. "Malibu" is the big track here, with an energetic post disco-house groove propelled by crisp, clean drum programming and a heavily processed sweet female vocal hook, which is soon engulfed by a menacing array of Detroit chords. "Perception" follows a similar path as the A Side but with a deeper 90s house melody and HC boss Jamie Jones drops a winning refix of "Malibu" for good measure.
