Review: It isn't too often that you can get two rare and desirable releases on one CD but that's just what we have here. Dr.Bird gives us these rare 70s examples of lesser known releases that have a strong cult following but are still being discovered. Delroy Wilson's Sarge from 1977 and Ken Boothe's Unlimited from 1977. Both releases are lauded for each singers soulful voice and music diversity with early ska and rocksteady infused into their reggae sounds. Both releases are hard to get original copies for a reasonable price so having them together is an added treat.

Review: The clandestine Xenia Reaper comes forth with their debut LP proper, a sprawling anthology of pulsating, sensual neu-ambient beatdowns for club and spa play. Across nine tracks, they traverse terrain from pensive, windswept chordscapes underpinned by resonant carpets of sub, to pummelling, stroboscopic workouts a la Basic Channel. It's a super accomplished tripp, full of pleasure centre-probing sonic shrapnel, waterlogged voices, saccharine synthwork and skittering percussion. Review: Brazilian producer Zopelar is a real wizard when at work in the studio. He has done disco-tinged full lengths, synth-laced house sounds, deeper than deep grooves and now steps up to Sudd Wax with another brilliantly musical EP. It opens with the shimmering pads and free-flowing keys of 'Papaia' which then gets a Byron The Aquarius Jazz Twist mix that cuts even more free and gets even more cosmic. 'Jazz Class' is a funky one with golden chords and astral pads and the flip brings three more house gems laced up with the sort of meaningful melodies you don't often hear in this genre.
