The Cramps: Live At The Lokerese Festival Belgium August 7 2006
Notes: Formed in 1976 as a punk band, The Cramps were an active unit until 2009 when they split following the death of vocalist Lux Interior. The band went through a number of line up changes over their twenty three year history although Lux Interior and his wife and guitarist Poison Ivy were the only constants. Building up a live reputation the band actually covered a number of styles and were the leading exponents of what is known as Psychobilly which is a blending of Punk and Rockabilly. They were also highly regarded by the Goth movement. The band released a number of albums over the years with titles such as Smell Of Female, Big Beat From Badsville and their most recent studio album Fiends of Dope Island.

This DVD was filmed at the Lokerese Festival in Belgium on August the 7th 2006. The band enjoyed massive cult status in Europe and the set contained on this DVD went down well with the festival crowd. Including songs such as Rock On The Moon, Hanky Panky, Big Black Witchcraft, Primitive and Psychotic Reaction. This DVD is a rare opportunity to see one of the leading exponents of the Psychobilly movement and certainly one of the last DVD performances from The Cramps.

Can't Stop Won't Stop: A History Of The Hip Hop Generation
Cat: 316539 Rel: 01 Jan 90

Based on original interviews with DJs, b-boys, rappers, graffiti writers, activists, and gang members, with unforgettable portraits of many of hip-hop's forebears, founders, and mavericks, including DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, Chuck D, and Ice Cube.
Notes: Forged in the fires of the Bronx and Kingston, Jamaica, hip-hop has been a generation-defining global movement. In a post-civil rights era rapidly transformed by deindustrialization and globalization, hip-hop gave voiceless youths a chance to address these seismic changes, and became a job-making engine and the Esperanto of youth rebellion. Hip-hop crystallized a multiracial generation's worldview, and forever transformed politics and culture. But the epic story of how that happened has never been fully told until now.

Based on original interviews with DJs, b-boys, rappers, graffiti writers, activists, and gang members, with unforgettable portraits of many of hip-hop's forebears, founders, and mavericks, including DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, Chuck D, and Ice Cube, Can't Stop Won't Stop chronicles the events, the ideas, the music, and the art that marked the hip-hop generation's rise from the ashes of the 60s into the new millennium. Here is a powerful cultural and social history of the end of the American century, and a provocative look into the new world that the hip-hop generation created.

Fucked Up & Photocopied: Instant Art Of The Punk Rock Movement
Notes: Raw, brazen and totally intense, "Fucked Up & Photocopied" is a collection of frenetic flyers produced for the American punk scene between 1977 and 1985. Many were created by the musicians themselves and demonstrate the emphasis within the punk scene on individuality and the manic urge of its members to create things new. Images were compiled out of whatever material could be found, often photocopied and, still warm, stapled to the nearest telephone pole to warn the world about next week's gig. One glance and you can sense the fury of live performances by bands such as Black Flag, the Dead Kennedys and The Minutemen, and, through the subtext the reader is exposed to the psyche of a generation of musicians stripped bare: The Germs, J.F.A, NOFX, X, The Circle Jerks, Devo, The Exploited, The Screamers, The Cramps, The Dils, The Avengers and more.

The Art Of Rebellion: World Of Streetart
Notes: Street art has taken over the world in recent years. Cities have been 'liberated' by artists who are as motivated by the drive to invent new forms of media as they are to create new images. "Art Of Rebellion" features the broadest possible variety of street art including flyers, stickers, spray can and stencil art, and a host of interesting hybrids that fall somewhere in between. Provocateurs such as Space Invader, Above, Lefunk, Milk, Fume, Hoernchen and East Eric use an amazing variety of techniques to create their own individual iconography in projects as crazy as bathrooms painted gold, battle tanks painted pink and cities plastered with pictures of toasters. The ultimate collection of worldwide street art this remarkable book leaves absolutely nothing sacred. Author Christian Hundertmark is founder of Munich based design studio C100, working for various clients in the sports and music industry.
