This is Lopkin's second release on M<O<S and follows a flurry of activity on other labels in 2015. Drawing on his Scottish heritage the release's title is in Gaelic, but the music is derived from classic Detroit techno and Chicago house. On "Och Aye The Noo", he channels vintage Ron Trent to fuse crashing snares with atmospheric synths. On "Weegie in Wigan", Lopkin shifts his focus to Derrick May's "The Dance", with a churning, chiming bass and ferocious, crashing snares combined in a dramatic fashion. The rolling break beats of "Ball & Chain" mark a shift of sorts from these influences, but soon enough, Lopkin moves back to this sound with the spiralling acid and melodic hooks of the title track.
