For the uninitiated, Steffen "Rising Sun" Laschinski makes the sort of warm, evocative, dreamy deep house you can get lost in. While some of his singles have focused more on dubby, heads-down dancefloor fare, this debut full-length expands the sound to take in more downtempo influences, mixing soft-focus deep house rhythms with glacial strings, wordy spoken vocals, drifting pads and subtle melodies. It's an enjoyable listen, particularly late at night and early in the morning, when the album's soothing tones act as a kind of becalming remedy to whatever ails you.
