Having spent much of the last few years working with one of his idols, On U-Sound legend Adrian Sherwood, Rob 'Pinch' Ellis returns with a first solo single since January 2016. "Water Bomb" is a suitably bombastic affair, with Ellis creating a heavyweight rhythm out of manipulated recordings of running and splashing water. This is then combined with a typically heavy, thrusting bassline to create an intoxicating, futurist dubstep roller. Flip for "Cold New Worlds", where the tall Bristolian offers an altogether icier voyage into Autechre-influenced post-dubstep pastures. While suitably heavy and club-ready, it's also rather poignant.
