Part of the York Analogue House Mafia alongside Perseus Traxx, Craig Stainton has a rich and worthy recording history under a number of aliases including Mantra, Myriadd, Acid Phreex and Monofonix dating back several years. As Myriadd, Stainton has operated on a one record per year basis, surfacing on both Creme and Signals in fine style with some loose box jam goodness. With 2013 nearing it's end, Stainton ensures the annual consistency for Myriadd is retained with this excellent outing on Patrick Marsman's rising Pinkman label. Four tracks deep, True Will doesn't deviate from the Myriadd style but there's nonetheless plenty of variation here. The title cut displays notable levels of emotion through the plaintive synth lines, whilst "Ever Onward" demonstrates Stainton's taste for a rubbery acid line and punishing snares. Hit the B side for a pair of no-nonsense Chi-town referencing jackers ripe with cascading drums and thoughtful analogue manipulation.
