American producer from Kansas Miles Bonny is a talented trumpet player, producer and vocalist who caught our attention after collabs with the likes of DJ Day, Shawn Lee & Suff Daddy. A Side ''Fela '' kicks off with a killer intro, utilising possibly the world's most instantly recognisable baritone sax lick from Mr Kuti's extensive repertoire. The chopped sax and organ part is looped up effectively before a heavy lead laden bass booms in for a serious contender for booty shaker of the year award. On the flip he takes a 1954 classic from Dickie Valentine, "Mr Sandman", and cuts up vocal snippets, overlaying them on top of a head nodding hip-hop groove. Highly recommended.
