Ambient experimentalist Ando Laj has previously released his impressively inventive work via digital download and obscure cassettes, meaning that all bar a handful of well-informed listeners got to hear it. Happily, Pamoram's Wandering Eye label has decided to introduce him to a wider audience via Collected, his vinyl debut. The set is largely made up of early work, some of which appeared on download or cassette a few years back. Sitting somewhere between spacey ambient, jazzy downtempo breaks, experimental electronica and sound collage, the six tracks here are superb. We're particularly enjoying the spaced-out, post-rock influenced electronic creepiness of "Grafiti", but to be honest it's all top notch.
