Ambience (5:33)
UFO (4:58)
Review: Quadrants boss Mele is relentless in his production output, but rarely gets to see his work committed to vinyl. Shout outs to Redlight's equally busy Lobster Boy label for granting man like Mele's Ambience single the physical treatment then. Mele's reluctance to be pigeonholed is on full display with these two club ready cuts; the title track is a carnival-esque fusion of deep tribal beats, diva vocals and absurd breakdown. Complementing this "UFOZ" heads off into quirkier territory, with Mele conjuring a helium-filled laser attack of a production.

Scatter (4:57)
Give Love (5:32)
Shots (5:41)
Pin Point (6:10)
Review: Dos McGouran also goes by the name of Detboi, an alias he uses when he's in the mood to make dark, grimey street music with a hardcore edge. His latest curveball is shaped into a four-tracker for the singular Keysound label, home to a wide selection of underground bass music including some of Beneath's first productions, and Blackdown among others. "Scatter" cuts straight to the chase with its breaks, huge bursts of mutant bass and stop-start groove; "Guve Love" is deeper and slower but nonetheless grizzly in its sonic selection; "Shots" goes for a tribal approach and successfully blends an old-school subbass with more minimal melodies; "Pin Point" ties things off with another twist of neo hardcore, brimming with breaks and charisma.

Etch - "Toxin" (4:09)
K Lone - "Broke" (4:05)
Review: ** Warning: contains dental puns! ** Facta and K Lone's Wisdom Teeth has really developed some bite since it emerged snapping at the heels late last year with a superb debut 12" from the former alongside Wen. Hot on the heels of that second Wisdom Teeth dustup between Bristol's Hodge and rising talent Acre, the label's third 12" sees co-founder K Lone step forward and show what he's capable of. However it's Soundman Chronicles and Keysound affiliate Etch that takes the front seat, lining the A-side with a low-slung, bass heavy take on atmospheric beatdown with a killer half-step approach. K Lone impresses too with the dubwise business of "Broke".

Review: Tri Angle's Rabit launches a brand new label Halcyon Veil with fellow futurist Myth taking the debut release duties. Weighing in at seven tracks, it's tantamount to an album-length release. Not just size-wise, but with a sonic consistency, too... From the churchy tones and dreamy two-steps of "Phoenix" to the subverted Get Physical-style riff and garage rhythm of "Skyz" by way of the solemn opener "Lonely", Myth's production vision sits neatly between total headphone immersion and foggy dancefloor moodiness. We can't wait to see what comes next.

Indian Time (5:55)
Indian Time (Basic Soul Unit remix) (6:02)
Review: Don't Be Afraid sub-label DBA Dubs pulls out an intriguing single, pitching tastings of Bristol bass, middle-eastern themes and watery tabla rhythms of D-Malice with Canada's house faithful Basic Soul Unit. This D-Malice release, somewhat of a surprise inclusion to the label, follows music by Claws For?, beat fusionist Kelpe, Adjowa and No Corner and Idle Hands artist Lily. Both tracks fit a house tempo and it's the percussion of the original that's the real hook, while BSU's thumping remixing delivers a menacing Vermona kick drum with swathes of heavy, dub techno-spheres. A versatile release.

Swazi Rhythm (5:33)
Drumma (5:57)
Review: Dean J.Grenier, or otherwise known as DJG, is a San Fran bass head whose been putting out killer beats since the late noughties for labels such as Lo Dubs, Wheel & Deal Records, and Photek Productions, among others. This week, the US producer launches the Gourmet Beats imprint with a deadly two-tracker spanning dubstep, house and beyond. "Swazi Rhtyhm" takes the spotlight thanks to its wacky tribal groove and menacing swarms of mutant bass, while "Drumma" calls all percussion freaks with its rolling beat flex and mild background sonics. Killah!

Oun C (6:10)
Call Me, Let's Do Lunch (5:41)
Review: First spotted online and in the boxes of some very lucky selectors last summer, then released digitally at the start of the year, Chunky's "Oun C" finally gets the vinyl justice it deserves. Rolling with deep space dynamics, there's a classic electro feel to the drums and a weirded out Crosstown flavour to the bubbling, mildly acidic bass. The result of this fusion is a foggy trap that allures the listeners and holds them captive in their own imagination. Flip for "Call Me, Let's Do Lunch". Here the beats are straight-up 4/4 and the nagging, heavily processed hook scream techno. Imagine a Drumcode release being played at -10 and you're on the right track. We're unsure what lunch Chunky has in mind; his name suggests an all-you-can-eat buffet but the sounds suggest something much leaner and chewy.

White Moon Garden (5:10)
Sad Sniper (3:19)
It Did Not Feel Right (3:42)
Rye Angel (3:55)
Review: Earlier this year Tom Lea's Local Action secured one of the most logical label debuts of recent times in London producer Deadboy, best known for his club ready output on Numbers and perhaps the best Drake remix of all time. White Magick was a fine way to herald Deadboy's arrival on the label, veering off into a plush and emotive style of new age club music that hit the same sort of spot as Mr Mitch's recent output. As you might expect, this new Black Magick 12" from Deadboy sees the producer turn in "club-focused edits" of three tracks from his prior Local Action 12" along with a VIP version of his Crazylegs banger "Did Not Feel Right". Few do it like Deadboy, as this 12" attests.

Terra Batida (4:52)
Noise (4:17)
Lucky Punch (4:13)
Beat & Break (4:31)
Heartbeat (4:40)
Banda 52 (3:32)
Review: Originally issued last year digitally, Lit City Trax do the right thing and grant this six track single from Lisbon's DJ Marfox a full 12" release. "Terra Batida" matches strikingly simple synth lines with a snagging groove that stands out due to its off kilter nature. "Noise" switches things up with an experimental line in found sounds and polyrhythmic contortions that dart the Marfox sound out into leftfield. At every turn on this EP the groove can split in any number of different ways, but it's not all peak time body shaking business, as "Heartbeat" demonstrates with its tender melodies and easy pace. Whether fast or slow though, this is all single-minded music arranged in unfamiliar ways.

Citizen Boy - "Hometown Glory" (Gqom remake) (5:43)
Mafia Boyz - "Shabba" (Gqom remake) (5:19)
Cruel Boyz - "Touch It" (Gqom remake) (7:19)
Review: Durban's new sound is the "Gqom", a local Zulu word for the sound that a stone makes when hitting the ground. The South African city is a melting pot of cultures and sounds, something that has been picked up by the Gqom Oh! label and pressed up on wax for us all to experience. Much like the characteristic sound of Principe, Gqom Oh! tells its own tale, one of polyrhythmic melodies and, broken beats and deep, deadly low-ends. Gqom himself remixes three tunes: Citizen Boy's "Hometown Glory" is morphed into a sparse, percussive jam with neat vocal chops, while "Touch It" mashes up Busta Rhymes vocals with shreds of half-step and menacing atmospherics; "Shabba" by Mafia Boyz is tailored into a broken mass of drums and slicing snares. Check this sound out - minimal, driving, funky and experimental.

Understanding (5:06)
Intake (6:07)
Links (7:41)
Spectral (5:05)
Review: Part one of a three part album, the shadowy sounds of the unidentified Mikarma hit a new level. "Understanding" is an emotional piece of post-autonomic halftime loaded with twinkling arpeggios and twisting chord changes, "Intake" retains the twinkles (albeit in a different minor key) but skips between plodding and galloping thanks to some creatively placed kickdrums. "Links" dips it toes into a more classical D&B feel with flightier drums and icy pads while "Spectral" takes us down the darkest alleys of techno town where nothing is what it seems. Bring on disc two!

Just A Test (2:15)
Review: Last seen on Planet Mu back in 2011 with the superb debut album Anti G Presents Kentje'sz Beatsz, young Dutch producer Anti-G (aka Kenrick Connor) resurfaces with some long overdue new material for the Amsterdam operation Rwina. As on that album, the Hague-based producer's twisted take on bubbling is deployed to deadly effect on the six tracks that make up Kush In Da Sound with traces of UK Funky, reggaeton, hip hop and grime all thrown into the mixer. A quite eye-opening collection of cuts that suggest a new level of deadliness has been achieved by Connor and you could easily slip these productions into a set alongside some of the new footwork stuff and Principe's ever growing clutch of Lisbon talent.
