I've Always Liked Grime (6:52)
Black Palms (5:27)
Menace II Society (6:42)
Review: Jordan Alexander's been rinsing it under his Mall Grab moniker, and every release since his debut back in 2015 has been hotly tipped by us here at Juno towers. EP's for Church, 1080p and Collect-Call have now earned him a spot on Unknown To The Unknown, one of our favourite labels and surely one of the most diverse, too. "I've Always Like Grime", as the name implies, is a house track made by someone who listened to high doses of Crazy Titch and Plastician back in the day, but "Black Palms" does its best to distance itself from the UK thanks to some pretty nasty acid bumps, and "Menace II Society" heads to Chicago with its singular vocal sample and dusty house flex. Sick!

No Return To The Jive
Homeless
Review: Scott Young's most powerful and personal (he was actually homeless at the time of recording the title track in Berlin) effort to date. No return to the Jive disintegrates a familiar groove into digital detritus, burning down the house (genre) in the process. Homeless' disco dub is mutant and sticky, and already a hit at the best kitchen after parties. Hobo Art by Capablanca & Young. Weirdo magick.

Kerri Chandler - "We Can"
Andre Wade & Company - "Bend Over" (Hula Club Mix)
Madagascar - "I Never Thought" (Homegrown dub)
Review: Over the last 12 months, New Mexico-based label Plastik People has put out a number of superb EPs featuring little known, and hard-to-find house jams. The latest edition in their Collections series continues on a similar theme, and opens with the undulating boogie bass, drifting chords and wild organ solos of Kerri Chandler's 1999 cut "We Can" (initially released on Black Vinyl, fact fans). On the flip you'll find the classic U.S garage/soulful house of Andre Wade & Company's brilliant "Bend Over" - all woozy chords, chunky beats and rich organ lines - and the New Jersey style garage bump of Madagascar's overlooked "I Never Thought (Homegrown Dub)".

Airwaves (7:00)
Cloud City (7:09)
Purple Park (6:41)
Run Time (6:42)
Review: Since 2009 John Dimas has been producing a faultless style of deep house for dancefloors craving the teachings of the US. Dimas has proved a master in the art of acid and French house style too and this Run Time EP sees the Greek producer lean closer toward something more suited to Berlin, with all four tracks entrenched in a dubby malaise. "Airwaves" is up front the funkiest track here while the chordal interplay with the drum programming on "Cloud City" is undeniable - think Chez Damier. "Run Time" is the deepest session on this record with its drums less function, while "Purple Park" is so Chicago it hurts. Ouch!

Leo Pol - "2 La Deep De Bretagne" (6:49)
Leo Pol - "Korben Dallas" (6:15)
Marc & Leo - "21" (7:49)
Leo Pol - "Parking" (6:42)
Review: Parisian producer Leo Pol is back after a great release on Velvet back in 2014 that showed his potential to create some deep, dusty and totally tripped out house for the afterhours, particularly on the Le Chat Qui Danse EP. He now inaugurates local label IILE (a sublabel of Uniile) with some more hypnotic subtlety; even if it is tougher and faster than his previous effort. There's the opener "2 La Deep De Bretagne" which really rolls deep. "Korben Dallas" gets its swing on in infectious fashion, much like local homeboy Varhat can. On the flip, he teams up with Marc on "21" for a bumpy and minimal jam while closing out the EP is the absolutely sublime "Parking" which is sexy and summery and has a certain DJ Gregory flavour about it.

One On One (4:50)
Relax, Don't Do It (4:33)
Jus Hold Back, The Feelin’ (4:09)
And The Beat, Goes On (4:25)
Review: Back in 1988, Chicagoan DJ Joe Lewis delivered Lost In Tracks, an early acid onslaught that has since become a must-have for serious house collectors. Some 28 years on, it finally gets a reissue on Clone's Classic Cuts series. All six of Lewis's tracks from the original release are present (David Whiting's short percussion track, tagged on to the '88 12" as a bonus, has been omitted), and are here presented in newly re-mastered form. As you might expect, the material sits somewhere between sweaty jack-tracks and handclap-heavy box-jams, with "Just Hold Back The Feelin" - with its' sampled diva vocal lines and classic Chi-town bassline - and wild, ragging "One On One" amongst the many highlights. Given that original copies are "almost unobtainable", this should be on your shopping list.

Review: For the first time VIBRAPHONE RECORDS is releasing a record by an artist other than THE TRUE UNDERGROUND SOUND OF ROME. For such an exclusive event there could have not been a better choice than Italian DJ/PRODUCER, Nick Anthony SIMONCINO. For the production of this record, ISOLE DEL TRAMONTO (Sunset Islands) Simoncino uses a selection of strictly old school analog synthesizers, and drum machines, which takes you on a charming magical journey through the Mediterranean Sea with pulsating minimal deep bass lines, oneiric harmonic textures, exotic tom tom patterns, hypnotic sexy and catchy grove beats. ISOLE DEL TRAMONTO is a record that connects and combines the essential elements and spirit of deep house music along with providing its visionary future...

Touch Your Body (7:07)
Touch Your Body (Moodymann remix) (6:05)
Touch Your Body (Moodymann dub mix) (6:05)
Review: Crosstown Rebels assemble an A-star team of pioneers and legends for the next mammoth release on the label. 'Touch Your Body' comes courtesy of Felix Da Housecat, Jamie Principle and Vince Lawrence aka The 312 with sublime remixes from Moodymann. Felix Da Housecat is said to have wanted to go back to his Chicago roots and rounded up the other two legends of the Windy City; Lawrence for his spiritual and stylistic guidance and Priniciple for his unmistakable voice which has graced many a house anthem in the last 30 years. "Touch Your Body" conjures the spirit of Classic Chicago on this darkly emotive and bittersweet anthem that's just bound to be a future classic with a sincere nod to the past. Moondymann's stellar remixes on offer take the track down deeper territory.

Review: Third chapter for Blind Box Series back in the game with a brand new release from label owners Julien Sandre and Konstress. This time Blind Boxers proudly share the Ep with house giants Hector Moralez and Chris Carrier, exploring some of the finest shades of the underground dance music. Vintage drums, bubbling synth elements, trippy pad lines, everything mixed with that unique forward-thinking nature that marked this platform as one of the most appealing vinyl-only record label out there.

Island In The Sky (5:34)
Sorayama's Fantasy (6:10)
Vienen (5:58)
Dachkammer (5:39)
Review: Having contributed a track to the split 12" that announced Voyage Records, founder Andy Hart has since largely focussed on building the label through some canny A&Ring that's seen singles from the likes of Harvey Sutherland, M5K and Urulu. There was the introduction of Hart's Auslander project with Tom Lalley and Fantastic Man in the label's 2015 output too, but the recently-settled Berlin resident hasn't offered up any solo output in some time! Which makes the clutch of brushed deep house burners that feature on this Mistress of your Mind 12" most welcome indeed Andy. There are hints that Hart's new surrounds and regular gigs in Berlin are starting to bleed through into his productions - see the heat-treated "Sorayama's Mistress" and full throttle percussive onslaught of "Vienen." It's a development we wholeheartedly approve of!

Dirty Stories (8:00)
Review: French legend Ludovic Llorca is back under the Art Of Tones guise for the always impressive Local Talk. Acid soul funk? You bet! Take a listen to I "Just Can't (Get Over It)" and you'll believe there is such a thing. On the flip, the smooth and soulful groove continues on "Dirty Stories" which has an undeniably French touch about it, with good use wonky synths, emotive strings and SP1200 style vocal cut ups. Deepness in the vein of Pepe Braddock or Chateau Flight.

Dance With U (5:49)
Review: This Is Our Time - a 101% Hungarian label run by the homies Route 8 & Soundbank aka the Lathequex boyz - presenting a special 10" from the former, highly regard artist known for his work on Lobster Theremin, Nous and Farbwechsel. Arriving on the 10" format, This Is Our Time describe this two track salvo from Route 8 as like "being when you have that slice of pizza on your way home from a big night out and you feel like that you are in the centre of the universe." We've all been there right? "Floating (dub)" gets that sublime dubby deep house vibe happening as good as Swiss guys like Baaz or Quarion can; this low slung groove is pure bliss. On the lip things get a bit more uplifting on the very KDL inspired slo-mo deepness of "Dance With U" which is perfect to get the crowd in the mood in the early evening. Tip!

Review: The mighty Recloose drops on AUS Music? Oh yes, you ain't trippin'. The Peacefrog, Planet E and Rush Hour mainstay aligns with Will Saul's label in it's tenth year of business and he brings with him a triplet of delightful house gems. "Honey Rocks" leads the way with a fluid, rolling groove filled with intricate melodies and a subtly tribalistic approach. "On&On" pushes forward a deeper, more swollen bass but the mood is still very much in the deep end of the pool, and "SideWalks" ties things off with a pulsating groove that is simply made for the DJ...

Laurence Guy - "Wish I Knew" (5:36)
Debukas - "Gas & Air" (6:43)
Review: London's Church imprint is keeping things on total lockdown, as always, and here you got the second chapter of their Volumes series...a chance for some collaborations from their department of HOUSE. DJ Aakmael's "Just A Track (Part 7)" is a slow, mindful brain melter perfect for a good old lean-back, and while Aquarium's "Slow Sunset Drive" has got more pace in its bones, it is still very much a classic chiller. Laurence Guy gets playful and expansive with the melting bass of "Wish I Knew", while Debukas delivers a fine, dubby house warmer in "Gas&Air".

A Story Of... (6:08)
Review: Fresh from inaugurating his own eponymous label, Sheffield producer and selector Al Zanders lands a debut on the mighty Wolf Music in the shape of Second To None. A confident title is matched by the calibre of productions across these four Zanders cuts, rife with the joyful vibe, rich instrumentation and canny samples we've come to expect from the Wolf stable. You can just tell the Wolf crew had no trouble deciding on the lead track with "Second To None" blissfully rattling from outright house pandemonium to serenity and back with aplomb, with the Bradock-style brushed soul deepness of "Taxi Co" just as memorable. "A Beat Is Not A Lovesong" sees Zanders toy around with a vocal sample brilliantly whilst "A Story Of..." is the epitome of a B2 slow burner.

Goshawk - "Take You Home"
Tatsu - "Walk Away"
Tim Tonal - "Love What U Feel"
Leon Revol - "Tape Loop"
Review: Four tracks, four producers. One label regular, three new recruits. Four different takes on the deep house sound that we know and love here at PFT. Label regular/boss Goshawk kicks things off with the dubby slo-mo house grooves of 'Take You Home' which has a raw hypnotic disco inflected groove complete with chopped up vocals. Serious biznizz. Tatsu (aka DJ Isaac Indart from the Puro crew in Palma, Mallorca) offers up the bumping deep vibes on 'Walk Away' - think snapping snares, square wave basslines and sunkissed pads. WARM. Tim Tonal is most notably known for being part of the Alphadogs, whose incredible 'Bonelicker EP' on DIY is an all-time free party classic. He supplies another sure fire party starter with 'Love What U Feel', Nottingham soundsystem house at it's finest Finally, coming straight out of Bordeaux is Leon Revol (Apersonal) with the sublime 'Tape Loop' - a rolling, locked in groove with a fantastic arrangement which keeps the groove interesting throughout.

Review: Dutch Veteran Gerd's career stretches back an impressive 22 years. Planet F.D.M.X Pt 1 sees him return to Clone's retro-futurist Royal Oak offshoot for the first time in five years. Interestingly, opener "Planet F.D.M.X (909)" doffs a cap to early Warp "bleep and bass" releases, while also paying tribute to the spacey techno sounds of Detroit. There's a slightly more Larry Heard feel to the accompanying "707" mix of the same track, with deliciously deep chords and bright stabs accompanying a "Can You Feel It" style groove. On the flip, he's in full on space mode on the wonderfully attractive and rubbery "Visitors", while "The Cube" bounces along on a wave of vintage acid style refrains, jackin' beats and dreamy, drawn-out chords.

Review: Milton Keynes-based producer Liam Geddes powers through like a bass drum with this new EP for Oli Furness' Music Is Love label, and if you're looking for steady tech vibes then you've hit the spot right here. "Song For New" is a slick, well-oiled percussion monster with subtle waves of euphoria, followed by the more US-minded house slinger that is "Right Path". The label has been an inspiration to many, and producers such as DJ Sotofett have taken its model as a blueprint for their own labels, ones that bring together several different artists and ideas onto one 12". Review: Paxton Fettel has made a name for himself through the Greta Cottage Workshop label over the last few years, so we're always keeping our ears open when a new release by the producer drops onto our shelves. In case you hadn't gotten it, we're big fans of the GCW mandem. But, this time he's on the less expansive yet more incisive Kolour LTD label with the Will It Berghain EP, something of an inside joke within the house community. "Claire Likes To Eurodance" is gorgeous house tune that recalls Pepe Bradock material from the late 1990's, all filtered and groovy, while "Track To The Future" is deeper and more jazz-minded. On the B-side, "Buoyancy" contains a set of masterful disco sample strings and sublime stop-start rhythm, only for "You're All My Dreams Are Made Of" to deliver the FUNK. TIP!
