Zero T - "Piano Clap" (5:10)
Tokyo Prose - "Tell Me" (5:12)
FD - "Work It Out" (feat Collette Warren) (5:15)
LSB - "Hideaway" (6:25)
Review: Four of the scene's most soulful heavyweights representing with sublime slices of rolling gold on Soulr's consistently impressive four-piece series: Zero T polishes up ivories so much you can see your thoughts in them, Tokyo Prose toys with a lush falsetto and dreamy soundscapes, FD find the blue note on his DAW and wraps it up tight in the smoky tones of Collette Warren while LSB reminds us of the beauty of sample-based groove simplicity with hypnotic Q&A charm. Authentic timeless D&B.

Shatterdome (4:43)
2 Stroke (4:26)
Review: Ram's heavily tatted neuro-monster Audio lays down two more muscular tech-shredders for the more rapacious dancefloors. "Shatterdome" mischievously provokes the EDM psyche with a cheery synth line before hurling you into a sea of sandpaper sonic filth. "2 Stroke" reminds us of Audio's funkier side as a scattergun bassline flickers off-and-on the kicks with trippy effect. Rumour has it he's going to drop his fifth album pretty soon... His first since signing to Ram, we can't wait to hear it.

Nichoho (5:35)
Sienna (6:15)
Review: Fresh from re-releasing his 08 album Return To Forever, Seba lays down two brand new originals: "Nichoho" is a throwback to Seba's Good Looking days thanks to its crisp amen, star-gazing arpeggios and mildly raunchy vocal sample. "Sienna", meanwhile, gushes with breezy pads and rolling soul. Driven by an arresting, somewhat hypnotising vocal texture, it's yet another example of Seba doing what he does best. Stunning.

Straight Lines (6:34)
Replaced (6:11)
Review: Just in case his beautiful album Case Study isn't quite enough freshness from French D&B artist Naibu, Paradox has enlisted him for two arresting slices of breakbeat science on his perennial Paradox Music imprint. "Straight Lines" is the dream piece with a deft nod towards the Spearhead pastures. "Replaced" is a much trippier affair with brushed jazz drums and strange water drop designs that captivate in a similar way, sonically, as Om Unit. Gorgeous... Just like everything else he's done.

Scar - "Caged" (5:41)
Scar & Artifical Intelligence - "Free Fall" (4:49)
Scar - "Your Move" (3:47)
Review: The wounds have yet to heal from their "Better Than Me" EP earlier this year and already Survival and Script are back with more salty sonics. Five tracks in total, each one punching with equal precision. From the space-chase bass and stretched sci-fi textures of the A.I collabo "Free Fall" to the really interesting drum arrangements and trippy switches of "Fall From Grace", this documents SCAR's trademark of forefront, industrial strength design. Elsewhere expect a physical rewind to the jungle homeland on "Return To Swerve" and prepare to be whisked off into snare and synth wonderland on "Your Move". Faultlessly rooted D&B futurism, nothing more, nothing less.

Cross It (feat Fierce) (5:11)
Late Night Movies (4:53)
Clondike (feat Beta 2) (4:51)
Review: Three cuts taken from Zero T's long-long-long awaited second album, each one is a kindly reminder as to why he's not lost his stripes during the last few years of relative silence: "Cross It" is an exercise in restraint as muscular drums drive the sparse elements with rolling sense of momentum. "Late Night Movies" switches for something much more soulful and delicate as swooning chords wrap themselves gracefully over a skippy two-step. "Clondike", meanwhile, taps into the Full Cycle spirit with a bulbous bassline and drums so rugged they could slice Roni's dreads down to whiskers in two seconds flat. Truly golden.

Dice Game (5:16)
Thirty Four (5:37)
Review: What a comeback year it's been for Zero T. Kicking off 2015 with a hefty Metalheadz 12" it's been a consistent slew of seismic rollers ever since, including his second album Golden Section on Dispatch. Now jumping aboard the good ship Fokuz, he delivers another double-sided story; "Dice Game", all waspy and electrified, would sit well against a Break production while "Thirty Four" is a much more soulful, somnambulant piece that would sit well against a Makoto joint. Both are delicious and make you wish Zero T didn't disappear for so long in the first place.

Vibration Centre (7:37)
Infinite Range Of Awareness (6:34)
Review: After teasing us with a hair-raising mix almost two years ago, Rupture finally deliver two powerful pieces of authentic jungle from Toronto's Rumbleton. Neither would have sounded out of place in 93, and they both guarantee chaos now. "Vibration Centre" is the sound of Randall's wet dreams as the drums chop and change quicker than the mind of a chocolate-charged three year old. "Infinite Range Of Awareness" leans more towards the proto drum & bass phase of jungle with icy synths and a mild twang of Metalheadz to its structure and texture. Naughty.

Collapse (4:35)
Fragment (3:25)
Rotor (3:23)
Attack (4:16)
Review: One of neuro's premier league producers Misanthrop makes his Ram debut with this face-melting four-tracker. Heavily politicised (the news is to blame for his angry sounds on all accounts), the German forecasts the gradual decline of humanity with rowdy distorted triplets on "Collapse". "Fragment" continues the spiral into Gomorrahic decay with the same sliding growl tone that's often used by Misanthrop and Phace's Neosignal project while "Rotor" reverses the technique so the tones spiral upwards to uplifting effect. Finally "Attack" closes the show with Misanthrop's grittiest slammer of the bunch. Who knew society's malfunctions would sound so good?

Ben Carlos (Lenzman remix) (5:23)
Review: A concentrated US D&B affair; Calculon and Dave Own enlist the dulcet delights of Christina Tamayo for the piano-dusting, swooning pad-oozing jazzy stepper that is "Ben Carlos". If that's not quite soulful enough, Lenzman jumps on the remix and adds his magic to the drums with some really sharp edits and attention on the arrangement. Properly stunning.

In The Area (feat Lifford) (4:55)
Citadels (4:50)
Crash Pad (4:45)
Lazy Bones (4:35)
Review: Since signing to Hospital last year Krakota has delivered a progressively on-point stream of rollers and bubblers. Hot on the heels of "Ice Hands" and "Ghosts" comes the Bournemouth artist's first fully fledged EP and it's something of a vibe marathon: "In The Area" soothes with soft harmonic basses in a similar way to early Netsky or perhaps Nu:Logic material, "Citadels" is a floaty, cosmic meander through the jungle milky way. Looking for Krakota's harder side? Look no further than "Crash Pads"; all Experience-era detuned synths and swashbuckling amens, it's undiluted rave juice. Finally "Lazy Bones" brings us back to earth with a piano-shaped cushion... Before packing us off to sub boot camp with some very devious but subtle bass dynamics. Krakota's best release to date, without question.

Just One Look (feat Charli Brix) (4:55)
Bad Proof (5:19)
Review: Russian D&B mastermind Enei is about to deliver his second album Rituals and if this sampler is anything to go by, we're in for a treat of industrial strength proportions. "Just One Look" shows Enei's more sentimental, emotional side as Charli adds a sense of soul that he's usually kept at arms distance in the past but we'll hopefully hear more of in the future. "Bad Proof" is more like the mechanical hell-raiser we first saw enter the game in 2008 - neuro-edged and heavier than a coachload of 80s darts players, Enei is on banging form and his album should be a next level deal.

Rude Bwoy (Aphrodite remix) (6:19)
Review: The Freestylers, breakbeat's most consistent, unfettered party troupe, have been smashing this throughout the summer; updating a pivotal big beat classic (their own 1998 remix of Audioweb's "Policeman Skank" to be precise) with RDX vocals and updated production, it joins the dots between today's dance and one of the most (unrightfully) bashed genres in UK dance music. Looking for something more contemporary? Jump straight on the Jamie xx style MC-sampling tech roller "Ready For The Clash". Looking for some classic jump-up from one D&B's pioneers? Look no further than Aphrodite's remix. Yup, that Aphrodite!

Downtown (feat Simon Franks) (4:38)
Power (4:10)
Review: Following his "All Four One" EP at the start of the year, Frankee returns with two more startling shock-outs. "Downtown" shows the Londoner at his softest, most emotional side as Simon Franks delivers a vocodered vocal over an almost trance-like dynamic. Floaty, evocative and rolling, its lighter-raising power is up there with the best work of Sub Focus and Culture Shock. Flip for "Power", a bassline damager with a toxic hook that's reminiscent of Mampi or Dillinja. Benchmark business.

Ease Back (6:49)
Review: More spotless break science from Nucleus and Paradox: "Creator" is a hurricane of nostalgia with crisp jungle drums and expert execution of an early Orb sample. "Ease Back" creates harmony on the B with its chiller, Good Looking-era pads, bulbous subs and drums so sharp you could cut through concrete. Timeless.

Get Yours (5:11)
Review: The legendary old school label Fresh 86 stealthily relaunched last year with a clutch of releases from Twwth and Response. Now with the equally renowned and influential operator Digital onside, it's clear F86 are about to go next level. Tearing up the dance on each twist and turn, Digital reminds us how things were done back in the day; "Warm & Easy" is a sprightly rave breaks number with polished detuned synths and a well-placed MC sample while "Ghetto Yout" is straight up jungle with choppy amen damage. Finally "Get Yours" is a slower, kick-heavy hardcore jam that doffs its cap gently at the legacy of SUAD. Whistle crew.

Review: One of drum & bass's stealthiest operators, Naibu has been peddling the currently favoured melodic halftime/fulltime 170 stuff way ahead of most of his peers. Majestic, dreamy but still rooted in robust jungle principals, he's now on his fourth album and it's easily his best yet: from the sweeping, tearful strings on "Case Study" to the Dave Gahan-style smoky vocals on "Turn me Down" by way of the totally beatless bliss of "Five Pieces", this is a precision considered album that's loaded with restrained but isn't afraid to let go once in a while. Case closed.

Review: Skitty's Foundation X announce a brand new series and they're launching in true style: Djinn takes the lead with a hurricane roller that hums with persistent filtered chords in a similar way to Wilkinson's pre-pop roller "BLVD". Review: SB81's blueprints have developed into fully fledged projects with many sonic patents in place. Proof? Each of these three cuts mate! Lead track "Sculptures" greedily hogs the A-side and wastes little time in getting busy around the halftime axis, all deep space between the elements, setting the foundation for unique beat patterns that follow. Complementing this, both B-side tracks "Never Mind" "Final Cut" jump and start with really sharp edits on the drums.

Forbenji (4:28)
Review: More frequently spotted on his own Utopia imprint, Metalheadz or Warm Comms, Mako lays down his hypnotic charms on Samurai. It's a perfect fit; "Let The Truth Be Heard" hums with vibrant Vangelis-style synth blasts before dropping into wriggling waspy alien basses. "Forbenji" is a more physical affair with juke-style drum shots, crazy pitched snares and melodic, head-turning twists. Hey Mako, 2039 called.... They want their future back.
