Behringer Truth B2030A Active Studio Monitor (single)
 カートに入れる
 2 in stock $135.53
Cat: 584553 Rel: 21 Aug 17

2-Way active ribbon studio reference monitor with Kevlar woofer
Notes: Due to their high-resolution performance, B2030A active 2-way reference studio monitors are perfect for near-field monitoring applications - from small mixing environments to multichannel surround setups. When it comes to your studio recordings, you want honesty. In fact, considering how important your art is, you should demand it! That's why Behringer designed the B2030A Active 2-Way Reference Monitor to speak nothing but the TRUTH. The B2030A boasts big power, 125 Watts of bi-amplified output to an ultra-responsive, long-throw 6.75" polypropylene woofer, which provides tight and accurate bass - and a high-resolution, ferrofluid-cooled tweeter for crystal-clear highs. And although it was designed for the studio, where every note you play or sing is always "under the microscope", the B2030A makes an absolutely fantastic addition to your stereo or video surround system!

Bi-Amplification - The Path to Absolute Signal Integrity:

With its 125 ultra-clean Watts of output through separately-powered drivers, courtesy of true bi-amping (2 amplifiers per speaker system), the B2030A delivers high-resolution sound that really brings out the best in your music. While some of our competitors apply simple passive crossovers, which inaccurately separate the frequency spectrum and degrade driver performance, BEHRINGER has gone the extra mile - driving each woofer and tweeter with a separate amplifier for the utmost in signal integrity.

Custom-Engineered Transducers:

Powerful amplifiers coupled with state-of-the-art technology sure sounds impressive - but what about the part of the system you actually hear? Our LF (Low Frequency) and HF (High Frequency) transducers are designed specifically for each application - it's what sets us apart from the competition. When you buy a TRUTH B2030A active monitor, you can rest assured the transducers inside have been engineered to perform flawlessly with every other element for truly professional results. As a result, the B2030A provides ruler-flat frequency response from 50 Hz - 21 kHz, with tight and accurate low end, articulately-detailed mids and crystal-clear highs.

Gloriously-Wide "Sweet Spot":

The B2030A's HF (High Frequency) content comes courtesy of an ultra-high resolution 1.0" ferrofluid-cooled tweeter mounted on our proprietary wave guide. While some of our competitor's studio monitors have a highly-focused "sweet spot" (the optimal listening position for a pair of loudspeakers), our wave guide is designed to create a much more generous, broader listening zone. That means you are free to move around inside the stereo image to find the ideal spot in the mix for subtle instrument or effects placement opportunities.

Suited for All Placements:

The ideal environment for listening is a room that is "flat," neither too reflective (echoes) nor too absorptive (where the sound is muffled). But since all rooms are not the same acoustically, all TRUTH monitors come equipped to function in a wide variety of environments. Rear panel filter switches are provided to adapt the monitor's low- and high-frequency characteristics for optimal performance - specifically for your listening environment. Monitor placement is also critical. Ideally, all loudspeakers should be placed away from walls to ensure proper bass response. The B2030A features a set of Room Compensation switches so you can place it against walls, or even in corners. Walls tend to enhance low-frequency content, and corners exaggerate bass even more, but your B2030A TRUTH can be custom-tailored to provide honest bass response for your situation, with the simple flick of a switch or two.

Novation Circuit Mono Station Paraphonic Analogue Synthesizer

 4 in stock $511.01
Cat: 647241 Rel: 21 Aug 17

Compact, next-generation monosynth with 32 velocity-sensitive RGB pads
Notes: Circuit Mono Station is a next-generation sequenced monosynth that originates from the Bass Station II, with three sequencer tracks that benefit from the 32 velocity-sensitive RGB pads found on Circuit.

The synth has two oscillators, three distortion modes, plus one multi-mode filter with high-pass, low-pass or band-pass. With Circuit Mono Station, the sync and tuning parameters of its two oscillators can be individually controlled. It also offers four waveshapes (sawtooth, triangle, square and sample + hold), a sub-oscillator, ring modulation and noise generation. Users can get the frequency band they want by applying high-pass, low-pass and band-pass filters with slopes of 12dB and 24dB.

In addition, Circuit Mono Station introduces a powerful overdrive. Both monophonic and paraphonic modes are available, with each oscillator individually controlled by its own sequencer. There are three sequencer tracks: two oscillator sequencers and one modulation sequencer. Users can alter Gate length, switch patterns instantly, choose sync rate and mutate patterns.

A four-by-eight modulation matrix makes it possible to route from LFO with four waveshapes, envelope, sequencer or velocity, enabling complex modulation for pitch, pulse-width, amp, filter, distortion or CV. Up to 64 patches can be loaded and saved on the device, right at the user's fingertips. Circuit Mono Station controls separate hardware via CV, Gate and modulation outputs, and has MIDI In, Out and Thru, so other MIDI gear can be connected. Via USB, Circuit Mono Station can be plugged into Mac or PC, where unlimited patches can be managed using Components.

Review: Burnski's and Jon Woodall's Constant Sound sublabel Constant Black continues its march into the underbelly of heads down club tracks with this installment from the hitherto unfamiliar Constant. Whether it's Burnski under a different guise remains to be seen, but the quality of the tracks is the prime concern here. The A1 track is the perfect blend of tech house, with a hooky rhythm section and all manner of shimmering sonic delights spread out on top. The A2 taps a more reduced house vein, keeping the beats slender and the melodic elements subtle and dubby. The B side cut seems to merge the two to create a bubbling slice of swinging funk for the subliminal generation.

Review: As you can imagine, the For Club label's modus operandi is to get people onto their feet and nodding those heads. The core of it is that simple - and so it should be! They kick off with this collaborative opener, with Alan Castro's bleeping house experiment to open the festivities, followed rather smartly by Neik and the supremely glitchy "Hippie Futurista". On the flip, Yanee's "Morph" is an itchy groove filled with all sorts of percussive flair, whereas "North Market At 3 AM" sees Pedro D'Alessandro and Maxi Fried construct a beautifully funky little house number with an elegant swing.

Review: A love letter to the Basement Boys 2001 classic with Ras Baraka "An American Poem", Malik Ameer Crumpler lays down an incredible, wry and poignant sermon over a swing beat that builds into some fine freeform horn work from Leron Thomas. A fusion that spans Sheffield, Paris and New York, pays homage to Gil Scott Heron and delivers a critical message, the timeliness of this is legitimate. The acapella is incredibly handy, too. With sunrays this strong, everything else is a lightbulb...

Building on his impressive two-year discography once again, he returns to Loxy's Cylon with two more heavy pressure deep steppers. "Artifact" is all about the percussive hook that weaves in and out of the cavernous atmospherics, "Sightings" harbours even more space as the beats strip back to shimmering elements allowing the suspense and pure density of the textures to seep through. Unabashed darkness.

Review: Entering the fray earlier this year on Australian imprint 3BS, New Zealander Borrowed Cassettes flies across to Germany to release on Max Graef, Glenn Astro and Delfonic's ever-delectable Money Sex stable. Four cuts in all, each one driving with a deep tracky nature but the perfect balance of leftfield approach; the dusty foggy keys on "100,00", the swung percussion and otherworldly textures on "Miles", the jazzy dynamics and Detroitian insistency of "Bongo" and the stuttering technoid lunar excursion "Cue Ball" all maintain Money Sex's reputation for experimentation that still kicks ass on the floor.

Review: The latest Crimes Of The Future comes from Dimitri Distant and LVRIN, two emergent artists with a penchant for pitch black grooves steeped in the kind of acidic, wavey styles that COTF are consistently striking gold with. "Blasphemy" is a powerful slice of reductionist acid that uses a bare minimum of elements to create a sinister atmosphere to strike fear into the hearts of unwitting dancers. "Dead Sunday" is no slouch in the creepy department either, its clattering beats and bubbly acid line straining against a tape-stretched backdrop of synthesizer malaise. "Achromatic" switches stance to slow, undead electro soaked in embalming fluid and filtered through a B-movie veil for maximum guttural impact.

Review: There's no complex concept behind the latest four-track EP from the reliable Whiskey Disco camp, just a quartet of killer re-edits crying out for peak-time plays. Highlights wise, we're particularly enjoying the hard-spun Afro-disco grooves and well-placed dub delays of Alex Zuiev's "Afro Magic", though Alkalino's quirky opener - a thrillingly dubbed-out take on a tongue-in-cheek, left-of-centre disco treat - is also superb. Elsewhere, Love Drop sticks heavy new house beats underneath a stone cold classic (listen to the clips and you'll be able to identify the source material in seconds), while Terrence Pearce crafts a space-disco epic out of undulating Afro-disco grooves, bleeping synth melodies and some seriously cosmic effects.

Review: When they first emerged in the early 1990s, Lou Robinson's mysterious Scan 7 collective was compared favourably to fellow Detroit techno militants Underground Resistance (for the record, they are loosely affiliated). "Burdens Down", their first single for Belgian label Elypsia since 2001, sees them in fine form, delivering a title track that brilliantly joins the dots between Terrence Parker style gospel techno and bouncy, piano-driven house. Fittingly, Parker delivers a cheery, organ and piano heavy radio edit that pushes the track's gospel roots to the fore. The EP's other cut, "Thank You Lord", jogs even further towards New Jersey gospel house territory whilst retaining the futurist ethos and rhythmic structure of Detroit techno.

Review: Stephen Brown's "Deep In" first surfaced last summer, delivering a breezy dancefloor punch to the guts full of bouncy techno drums, analogue synth-bass and fluttering vocal samples. A year on it returns, this time reworked by long serving Berlin producer Len Faki. On the A-style you'll find the "Hardspace Mix", in which Faki puts a rocket under the Edinborough producer's original. While it remains bouncy and the female vocal samples take pride of place, the percussion is tougher and closer in feel to classic Motor City rhythms. Turn to side B and you'll find the "Deepsace Mix", a thrillingly hypnotic interpretation seemingly tailor made to cause commotion in German clubs at 7am. Deep, driving and percussive, it's a real Teutonic treat.

Review: Supreme musica popular Brasileira and bossa-nova vibes here on two tracks from Mr Bongo's leading Brazilian 45's lady, Claudia. "Deixa o Morro Cantar" features on Claudia's very first 7", released in 1965 by RGE Brazil. Her version of "Mas Que Nada" is said to be more of a jazzy/folk-funk take on the Ben classic. A relatively recent discovery made during the label's last trip to Brazil, Maria das Gracas Rallo was born in 1946 in Rio de Janeiro. She has become the most awarded singer outside of her home country and was most popular internationally in 1982 with the song "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" from the musical Evita. Moreover, she has recorded over twenty albums and has amassed huge record sales throughout her successful career.

Once again it's straight to the floor jacking business with no care for unnecessary polish. "Different Dates" is pounding and acidic, "Lonely Valentine" chugs with a dreamier, swooning feel while "I Know You Want To" flexes some superb vocal sample artistry. Remix-wise Baltra adds a little acid silkier synths to the mix with sexy results. Say yeah.

Review: Aus alumni Rob Glassett brings his Fold feels to Shall Not Fade: four tracks of jazz-tinged classically trained house music that nods heavily towards the Chicago sound. "Alan Whickers" pumps with a big filtered sensation that doubles up into quite a punch on the second drop, "Knickerbocker Ave" is as tasty as it sounds with a light broken feel to the drums and delicate jazz piano loop while "Doin' Bits" is grounded in more of a NYC house feel with its insistent vocal sample rises and relentless groove. Need a little 23rd century soul? Look no further than Will & Ink's Frits Wentink remix. Vibes.

Review: Meanwhile can always be counted on to unfurl seductive machine soul from the farthest reaches of the techno plain, and so it goes on this new album from Grit. The chords undulating through "Drifting From The Bay" match the track title perfectly, while "Dead Faces From The Past" sinks beneath the surface to present a ghostly ambient piece populated by haunting dub techno chords. "Principle" is equally blown out, albeit locked to a more insistent loopy mantra, while "Expansed" sounds positively sprightly in comparison with its pronounced beats. Things get more experimental on the metallic churn of "Piagga", while "Pheonix" brings a more functional deep techno flavour to the record before the appropriately sleepy finishing move of "Immersion".

Review: The 65th volume in Mr Bongo's admirable Brazil 45s series shines a light on Rio De Janeiro's turn-of-the-'80s boogie scene. On the A-side you'll find "E Novamente Mas Que Nada" by Ronaldo Resado, a five-minute chunk of samba-laced boogie sunshine that was originally featured on the artist's eponymous 1979 debut album. While wonderful, it's slightly overshadowed by flipside cut "Ginga", one of the highlights from Robson Jorge and Lincoln Olivetti's sought-after 1982 full-length (which, incidentally, was recently reissued by Mr Bongo and is well worth checking). Joining the dots between synth-heavy electrofunk, horn-toting disco-funk and languid jazz-funk, the instrumental track is arguably one of the best Brazilian boogie records ever made. Don't sleep.

  2. Each Day (6:27)
  3. T Beat (5:57)
Review: Paris-based Yakine was there at when minimal turned techy, and when techy was kept minimalistic. Ever since those late naughtiest years, the producer has been crafting his sound by searching for the perfect groove, and we think he's found it with this latest EP for the Disjoint label. These three tunes are more mechanical than his previous efforts; the opener "St Val 017" boasts a mean electro bass at its core, with "Each Day" also choosing to adopt a more brown loop beat a-la industriale, and "T Beat" pumping out more dread than dance grooves.

  1. Space Cadet (8:49)
  2. Halfjack (8:16)
Review: Aside from a few, sporadic appearances here and there, East End Dubz has pretty much been loyal to his own imprint, through which he has solidified a house sound of his own. Number 16 in the series offers a predictably classy affair in the form of 2 club trax that are bound to sync with pretty much anything you throw at them. "Space Cadet" is a direct, no bullshit house missile made for keeping the moods and tempos at a steady pace, while "Halfjack" is more on the playful side, shooting out tidy little melodic twists amid its rawer and more off-kilter percussion.

  2. Track 2 (4:51)
  3. Track 3 (4:40)
Review: For obvious reasons, the person (or people) behind this mysterious re-edit release wish to remain nameless. There's not much we can tell you about the record's origin, either. What we can say, though, is that it's really rather good. The untitled A-side - a pleasingly reverential, scalpel edit style revision of a vaguely well-known disco scorcher rich in clipped guitar lines, stylish female vocals, rubbery bass and crunchy beats - is particularly potent. Over on the flipside you'll find the breezy, party-hearty sing-along that is "Track 2" and the righteous "Track 3". This particular rearrangement focuses on the addictive horn lines and bouncy groove of a lesser-known disco-funk workout, in the process delivering a particularly on-point edit. It truly is a "treasure full of pleasure".

  2. Everything That Shines Ain't Gold (Floating Points edit) (4:38)
Review: You'll be unsurprised to learn that the latest reissue on Floating Points' Melodies imprint is of a record that is fiendishly hard to find. Collectors have long regarded "Everything That Shines Ain't Gold", a sumptuous funk-soul workout full of bold Hammond organ lines and jazzy guitar licks, as something of a "Holy Grail", so it's fantastic see the track getting a worthy reissue. For this edition, you'll find the full version (originally cut into two parts to fit on a 7") on side A, with a fresh Floating Points re-edit on the flip. His revision is naturally tastefully done, rolling with the sweetest instrumental passages before breaking into Moore's superb vocal.

  3. Exodus (3:52)
  4. Reverie (3:01)
Review: Tsuruda and Huxley Anne's Paint bridges the parallel movements of LA beats and UK halftime with a resounding quartet of unclassifiability. Gritty, strange and coated in warped textures throughout, at one moment we're being hurled into space (the build on "Beast Mode"), the next we're swimming against the waves of mystical 23rd century Wu beats ("Gaiden") before being pushed deep into a toxic bass swamp where the kicks shift beneath your feet. "Reverie" finishes on a more contemplative note as far-away humanised elements and lolloping beats remind us just how much more fusion potential there is between the two movements.
